Chapter 36.1: The Enchanting Encounter

===Jairus===

The scenery of the peaceful morning covered the surroundings with the bright light of the sun. Even the wind is caressing my face and hair while I was staring to the blue sky. Habang may dalang sketch pad at lapis, napahikab ako at dahan-dahang pumikit upang magpahinga saglit.

"Jairu-nii!" A little voice called me as I quietly lying under the tree in Angeruzo University. With the paper and pencil, I was about to draw her face that usually make me calm.

As I close my eyes, that voice keep calling me back.

"Jairu-nii! Where are you?" This time, it is the voice of a lost little girl that I could actually recognize. I turn my direction behind until I wander my eyes in the surroundings. Walang ibang tao ang nandito sa campus ngayon kundi ako lang. Ngunit nababahala ako kung sino ang tumawag sa'kin ngayon.

"A-Aikira?" Mahinang tawag ko nang magsimulang bumigat ang dibdib ko.

I decided to scan the whole campus to find her, but there are no signs of her existence. As far as I remember, Aikira was a goner after that incident-the incident that changed our fates in the family.

While I'm still puzzled, a silver-white butterfly appeared from out of nowhere. Its wings are glowing like a star in the sky as it approaches me. Dumapo ito sa aking ilong at tila isang liwanag ang pumalibot sa buong katawan ko.

Before the light devours me, the same girl with sapphire blue eyes appeared in front of me. Her gazes are cold and stoic. Like a peculiar warrior who's always ready to fulfill her duties to protect others. The blue highlights of her hair illuminated, making me to describe her as a "Butterfly of the Midnight" and it seems I'd seen her before.

Kung tama ang pagkakaalala ko...

"W-What's happening?" I asked confusedly at her. She only stood right there still and disappeared in the wind until I shut my eyes.

Later on, a soft and gentle voice of a girl keeps calling me from out of nowhere as my vision turned black.

"Jairus... Jairus..."

"JAIRUS KUROSAKA GUMISING KA NA!"

I exclaimed after I opened my eyes and fell from the bed with a hard thud. Anak ng tofu. Who the heck just woke me up?

Dahan-dahan kong minulat ang aking mga mata sabay angat ng ulo: An image of a girl wearing the uniform she used when we fought Tigmour during the first phase with a ponytail, stood before me. And she...she's staring at me with the usual stoic eyes on me.

"Well... Ohayou (Good morning)?" Zenrie-chan greeted and sighed. "Akala ko ba ako lang ang mahirap gisingin sa ating tatlo. Parang binangungot ka yata dahil medyo pawis ang mukha mo," she immediately place a smirk on her face and crossed her arms.

The usual alarm clock coming from our tsundere commander. Wala nang iba kundi si Zenrie-chan. It seemed she's pretty early to get up after we went home in the cottage at 04:30 AM.

"Good morning, Zenrie-chan," I greeted and stretch my arms to be fully alert. "It looks like the tables have turned when it comes to waking up someone, huh?" saad kong tila inaantok pa rin ang boses ko habang inaayos ang buhok ko.

Napa-buntong-hininga ulit siya't muling tumingin sa akin. This time, her stares turned into a little bit soft and concern. "That's one of my duties as your commander in the group: checking my comrades if they're still breathing," diretsong saad niya na may konting biro sa huli.

Lumapit siya sa'kin at sinundot ang aking noo. "Ayos ka lang ba? It looks like you have a weird dream."

This is the first time she's getting concern for me after I did the terrible mistake from the past. Hindi nga siya masyadong expressive, pero kitang-kita ko sa mga mata niya kung ano ang gusto niyang sabihin o ano ba talaga ang nararamdaman niya. Yet, she's still peculiar.
