Spiky's friend Aqmarine cannot go.
But Spiky sticks to her plans
Even if she is alone.
Rocky, being a Turkish dad,
Yells, "No!"
Being a young adult,
Spiky refuses
To press Control + Alt, Delete.
She buys the tickets,
Rocky turns away in defeat.
On an early Thursday morning
She gets on the bus.
The sun now shines
Through morning dust.
She now gets off her second bus.
As a runner
Walking two miles isn't bad.
Paying for a taxi
Would make her wallet very sad.
The trees are orange and yellow,
This isn't bad without a fellow.
She reaches the start of the mountain
And the end of the sidewalk.
"On to the steep road!"
She is in "Adventure" mode.
She watches out for cars,
And finds some flat snakes.
After a while of going up,
It wasn't a piece of cake.
She finishes her hike
That reaches the actual hike.
Her spirit lifts.
"This place exists!"
She takes a sip of water,
"Okay! This part should be 3 miles."
Off she goes with a bright smile.
Up and up she goes.
With every sound, she twists.
Chipmunks skurry through the leaves.
She calms down and persists.
There are more people on the hike
Than Spiky likes.
Everyone travels in a pair or more,
They look at Spiky as if she is a wild boar.
With no wifi and at every turn
She whines to God,
"Are we there yet?"
The muscles in her calves burn.
"Man, this is why Sam and Colby
Looked so tired!"
They are guys to be admired.
For the very last turn she freaks out!
"It's the burnt hotel!" She yells without a doubt.
She slows down to a stop
For she spots
A family of four taking a photo.
She volunteers to do it,
*Click, click*
Before they leave she points to her phone
And asks,
"Can I take up your time for a bit?"
*Click, click*
Spiky thanks them.
She wishes to run into the old building.
The little girl of the family
Asks her parents unhappily,
"Is that girl alone?"
Spiky's heart melts
For the concern the girl has shown.
