I knew it was now or never.
Something in my gut said so.
Let's get this show on the road.
I dig through my room
To find my Producer textbook.
It's hidden deep within a nook.
"I found it!" I hold it up.
Brushing off the dust I take a look.
During the day I work on the tiny home.
At night I go through the script and
Type up the budget.
No matter what I cannot fudge it.
I listen to a podcast called Indie Film Hustle.
It helps me build my filmmaker muscle.
I emailed the podcaster with questions.
He let me be on his YouTube channel.
I wore a nice shirt
And covered my pj pants flannel.
At the end of the recording he asked about my film.
He then said "It's too ambitious for a filmmaker starting out."
I let him be, because he doesn't know the vision I see.
My dad is very supportive
By letting me have some days off.
I work on the script breakdown.
When tired I try not to lay down.
I work on the storyboard
One thing at a time
I move forward.
All together in an email, I hit send.
Grandpa approves it all.
This dream is no longer pretend.
