Jesse was lying on the bed when Lorelei returned to the hotel room. He was curled on his side, facing the window. Lorelei could not see his face, and he did not react to her entering, so she assumed he was asleep. She crept over to the closet to put away the green dress.

Letting out a deep breath, she ran her fingers through her hair. She did not know what to do, but the last thing she wanted to do was wake Jesse. She had never seen him asleep during the day. Sleeping during the night was enough of a challenge for him.

Lorelei sat on the foot of the bed and kicked off her shoes. She stared at his sleeping form, wondering if she should attempt to crawl into bed.

Jesse rolled over. His eyes were open, and he smiled when he looked at Lorelei.

"I'm sorry for waking you," she said.

"I wasn't asleep," he said. "I've been thinking."

"About?"

"Life."

"That is quite vague."

Jesse chuckled. Lorelei pushed herself onto the bed, so she was lying next to him. He pulled her into his body, and she rested her head against his chest. She grazed her fingers across his chest, and his muscles were tense.

"My Mom really wants to come to Toronto," he said.

"You don't like the idea?" she asked.

"I want her to get sober, but I did not move back to Vancouver for a reason," he said. "I don't want to have to spend all my time babysitting her."

Jesse tightened his arms around Lorelei and kissed the top of her head.

"I don't want her to get in the way of our lives," he said. "I have plans for us."

Her heart fluttered in her chest. Was Jesse going to start mentioning marriage again? The idea scared her a little, but she found it exciting. She had never felt so strongly toward a person. Jesse could not see her smile.

"Like us getting married?" she asked.

"Exactly," he said. "I've put a lot of thought into it. I think we should live together when we get back to Toronto."

Lorelei raised her head.

"You want us to live together?" she asked.

"Of course," he said.

"But you're so neat, and I'm a slob."

Jesse chuckled. He rolled them over so that he was on top. Lorelei pressed her hands against his chest. He leaned in and kissed her neck, trailing his lips down her throat. His actions always made her aroused, and she clenched her thighs together.

"Correction, you're a mess," he said. He slid his hand into her jeans and ran a finger down her wet slit. "A wet fucking mess."

Lorelei closed her eyes and rolled her head back. Jesse dipped two fingers into her while circling his thumb around her clit. Digging her nails into his back, she moaned as she shuddered.

She opened her mouth to tell him she wanted to talk about their future, but the words could not. While she moaned, she closed her eyes and enjoyed the feeling of his touch. Her mind went blank as the pressure built.

Jesse pulled his fingers out of her core. She whimpered as she ached in need of the pleasure he was giving. She opened her eyes to see him sucking her juices off his fingers.

"Such a mess," Jesse said.

Jesse got off the bed. With shaky arms, Lorelei pushed herself up so that she was sitting. He grabbed the back of his shirt and pulled it over his head. Licking her lips, she watched as he ran a hand across his hard chest.

"Take your clothes off," he said.

"I thought we were going to talk," she said.

The fogginess of the arousal was wearing off, and Lorelei could finally think. Jesse's smile fell, and he crossed his arms over his chest.

"You keep knowing how to ruin the mood on this trip," he said.

Lorelei raised a brow.

"You were just talking about your mother, and then you mentioned us moving in together," she said. "Before we could end the conversation, you were fingering me."

"What's wrong with that?" he asked.

"Seriously? These are some pretty big things that you were talking about."

Jesse let out a deep breath and ran his fingers through his hair. He broke eye contact and looked at the floor. His mind was racing. Watching him made a knot form in Lorelei's stomach. What was he thinking?

He looked back at Lorelei and sat on the edge of the bed. Running the back of his knuckles along her thigh, he sighed and shook his head.

"Do you not want to live together?" he asked.

"That's not what I said." Lorelei grabbed his hand, and they laced their fingers together. "It's just a big step. I haven't lived with someone in a while."

"Since Matthew?" he asked.

Hearing her ex's name made her chest tighten as she struggled to breathe. The sound of his voice on the phone rang in her ears. His pathetic attempt at an apology made her blood boil. She focused on breathing to try and push back the anger. She did not want to snap at Jesse just because he mentioned Matthew.

"Yes," she said. "It made our break up even messier. I slept on Molly's couch for weeks until I found an apartment. I can't do that again. Especially not now that she is having a baby."

"You think that we'll break up?" Jesse asked. "I understand you not wanting to be in that situation again, but I plan on never letting you go. I've said I want us to get married, and I still stand by that."

Lorelei closed her eyes and bit down on her lip. Jesse shifted on the bed and wrapped his arm around her shoulders. She sighed and leaned her head against him.

"Do you not want to get married?" Jesse asked. "Since day one, I have told you that communication is important. I don't want to force anything on you or make you feel obligated."

"I love you," Lorelei said.

"I love you more," Jesse said.

She opened her eyes and looked up at him. He smiled before pressing his lips against hers. It was soft and tender. She liked the dominant side of Jesse, but in moments like this, she loved his sweet side.

Lorelei broke the kiss. Jesse leaned in for another, but she pulled away. He furrowed his brows, but she was smirking. She pushed him back and swung her leg over him, pinning him onto the bed. Leaning down and kissing his neck, she listened as he let out a slight groan.

"What happened to us talking?" he asked.

She lifted her head. The smirk remained on her lips.

"We're getting married and moving in together," she said.

"What about my Mom?" Jesse asked.

"What do you want to do about her?"

"I don't know."

Lorelei cupped his face in her hands. She ran her thumb across his cheek. He nuzzled his face into the palm of her hand.

"We still have time to figure that out," she said.

Jesse smiled. Grabbing Lorelei's hips, he rolled her over, so she was on her back. She giggled and pressed her hands against his hard chest.

"It's been a while since we had done anything kinky," she said.

Jesse chuckled. "Let's change that."
