I wake up with a coughing fit, and I gag from the emptiness in my lungs. Someone pats my back gently until I stop, and I take in slow, deep breaths.

'Is this Hell?' I think, 'I'm finally dead?' I look around a bit, trying to find the endless lava pits and blazing fire described in books. But my vision is unfocused, and everything looks blurry and dark. I close my eyes for a while and when I open them again, I can see better. I'm in a room with the lights off. I'm laying down on a hard operation table made of tiles. Everything is white, from the walls to the floors to the ceiling. And...

"Takana?"

I turn around in alarm, blinking close my left eye. Guess I'm not dead. Sh*t.

"Who..." I ask as I see a boy around my age. The boy had slightly spiky, platinum blonde hair with purple eyes. A turquoise scarf covers the bottom half of his face. He had an excited look on his face.

"Shake shake!" He says as we walk over to turn the lights on. I tilted my head, confused. Salmon? What? Is he hungry? Seeing my confused face, he pouts in a frustrated way and rushes out the door. Huh? Where is he going? My question is soon answered when he returns, this time with another man. He had white hair and dark sunglasses with bright blue eyes underneath.

"You're awake," He said. It wasn't a question. I just stared at him.

"I'm the all mighty super awesome sensei Gojo Satoru," He introduces himself, wearing a goofy smile on his face.

He continues, "And this is Inumaki Toge, 13," He points at the boy next to him. He gives me a smile and waves his hand.

"I'm... not dead...?" I ask, looking at my hands.

"Nope!" The man said, "You're in the Tokyo Jujutsu High School of Sorcery, I don't have the permission to keep you yet, but we'll see. And you can just open your eyes,"

'Oh,' I think as I get my eyes comfortable.

"So if the principal says no, you're out," He adds on.

"But," I ask again, "I'm not dead?"

"For the second time: nope. Me, the great sensei, has saved you," He says with a chuckle. I scrunch my face up a bit. I could have died this time, and this- this, stupid guy had to ruin it. Why. Why can't I just die in peace? Why bother saving a random stranger? Why.

"Sensei?" A new voice flows into the room as another boy with even spikier black hair enters. He has a bored expression.

"Shake!" The boy named Inumaki says, giving a smile.

"Oh, she's awake," The boy says, looking at me.

"Unfortunately," I add.

"That's Fushiguro Megumi, one year younger than Toge," Gojo-san said, "Don't mind his attitude,"

"Why did you save me?" I ask, ignoring what he just said.

When he stays quiet, I ask again, "Why. Did you save me?" Fushiguro looks at Gojo-san as if he is expecting an answer as well.

"Why," I stare at the man with a cold stare.

"I felt a Cursed Spirit inside of you," He simply answered, "A pretty strong one too, not as strong as Sukuna, but still pretty dangerous, and-"

"Sensei, letting her die would have killed the Spirit as well," Fushiguro says, cutting him off. I nod my head in agreement, even though I only understood about 20 percent of what Gojo-san said. Cursed Spirit? Sukuna? What are those? Is he talking about Itami?

"You should have let me die," I say bitterly, angry that a perfectly good chance had to be wasted by him. He shrugs, a smile still on his face.

"ANYways we are going to go see Masamichi" Gojo-san said, standing up. He motioned for me to follow him.

As I follow him out of the room, leaving Inumaki and Fushiguro behind, I ask, "Who the heck is that?"
