A room filled with subtle colors, a small desk on the side of a beautiful bed centered evenly between the window and the front door. On the bed laid an Eighteen-year-old with a shoebox filled with little polaroid pictures.

She looked at one of them and snatched it out of the box, she couldn't help but walk down memory lane.
It was Emma and her best friend. He had dirty blonde hair, honey eyes and short hair. Emma had her hair tied in a brown ponytail, her smile exposed her braces, and so did his. His blue shirt barely showed as they were both extremely close to the camera. The bottom of the picture read:

2013, Tom and I

She threw the picture back in the box and grabbed another, yet again she couldn't help but smile.

It was a picture of her in the backseat of a car, seemingly older. The guy holding the Camera was another friend of hers, he was a bit older than she was. Short, dark brown hair joined with ocean blue eyes.
Next to him was a girl who looked about the same age as Emma but she was a few years older.
Her hair was also dark brown, so were her eyes, but her smile was incredible, so bright and full of life.
The bottom of this one read:

Shawn, Jenny and I in his new car!!! 2014

She grabbed another picture, this time it showed her with three friends around her, two of which stood to her right while the third stood to her left, hugging her.
The first person to her right was the tallest of all four. He looked smart, sharp jawline, buzzcut and dark brown eyes. The second one seemed to be the jock of the group, a leather jacket with zippers that lead to nowhere, long blonde hair with a confident smile.
The one on Emma's left looked a little younger than she was, unlike the first guy. She was short, shorter than Emma was. She wore a dark green top, her hair curly, her smile full of love.
This picture read:

Markus, Andrew, Lena and I, last day of summer! 2015

"We used to hangout all the time," Emma whispered, she felt a rush of sadness cloud her mind.
How could she not feel sad? All her friends went to college or moved away, well all of them but Lena since she was the youngest out of them all. Even so, she hasn't seen any of them for a year.
Her sadness was short lived as she knew they were all coming back for the summer holidays, some of them were on their way while others had already arrived.

"One more." Emma grabbed another picture from the box as she tossed the one in her hand back.
She giggled; it was a picture of her parents. Her mom laid in a hospital bed with a small baby in her arms and a huge smile on her face. Her father was right next to her with one arm around her shoulder, even though it's a picture, you could tell he was holding back tears. The bottom of this one read:

The day Ellie was born, 07/09/2021

"Alexa, play nostalgia." Emma shut her eyes closed. She allowed her body and mind to relax. Emma's mind couldn't help but drift to the next chapter in her life, she graduated high school not so long ago, she was worried about the next step, the big leap after summer, college. She tried to block the feeling, only for her peace to be disturbed as her phone buzzed next to her. "What is it this time," she muttered as she grabbed her phone.

She glanced at her notifications only to see that she was added to some kind of group. She looked at the group info, nothing. She looked at the group icon and saw a faint dancing flame, she clicked it and saw that the flame was just a picture of a tall candle surrounded by nothing but darkness.
