How Soon Is Now

Part Two - Chapter Thirteen: Dinner for Two

"Are you sure about this Luke?" a woman asked peeking at the couple as they entered the restaurant, she couldn't believe what they were about to do but she knew that it needed to be done.

Luke nodded looking over at the couple, they seemed so in love and he couldn't help but regret that there was no other choice but to interfere tonight; there were things that needed to happen to ensure the future.

"I checked the potion myself Charlie," Lilia said approaching the two, all three of them were wearing uniforms for the waiting staff at the restaurant; it hadn't been hard for them to get into the restaurant and they were here for only one reason.

Fernando and Nicola had no idea how important that night would be, there was a set date and they were running low on time; something that the trio couldn't let happen.

"Plus Luke's right if we don't do this now we might not get another chance," Lilia murmured smiling at her brother as she handed him the potion, which he slipped into his pocket; he was the one that would be slipping it into the drinks.

The three teenagers watched for a moment before Charlie sighed and forced a smile as she walked over to the unsuspecting couple; she didn't like this but she knew that her siblings were right, this needed to be done.

"Hello I'm Charlie, is there anything I can get you to drink?" Charlie said introducing herself, she looked between the couple that she knew more about than she ever thought she would.

Fernando looked away from his wife and looked at the woman that was surviving them, he blinked at the sight of Charlie and couldn't help but wonder why she looked so familiar.

"A bottle of Artesa Tempranillo for two please," Fernando replied dismissing his thoughts as her being a fan that he had seen during a signing or something along that line.

Charlie nodded her head writing it down before she walked away and winked at her two siblings who were watching her; she knew how important it was for things to go well tonight especially between Fernando and Nicola.

"How are we going to do this?" Charlie asked collecting the bottle of wine that Lilia had already gotten out for her already knowing what was going to be ordered but needing to keep up appearances.

The two sisters looked at one another for a moment before turning to their brother, they didn't want to slip up and they needed to do this now.

"We slip it into the wine... they're the only two drinking it so we don't have to worry about the order getting mixed up," Luke murmured as his blue eyes watched the couple who were completely unaware of what was going to happen.

Pulling the small potion bottle from his pocket, Luke made sure that no one noticed him pour it into the wine that was going to be survived to the couple; the last thing that they needed was to be caught out.

Charlie took a deep breath as she picked the wine up and headed back to the table where Fernando and Nicola were seated, she set the bottle on the table and placed two glasses on the table for them.

"Are you ready to order?" Charlie asked politely glancing back at her siblings, Lilia and Luke pretend to work as they watched their sister with the couple; this was it and they needed it to work for the sake of the future.

Fernando looked at Nicola who nodded her head, he still couldn't figure out what it was but there was something about Charlie; she sort of reminded him of someone but he couldn't think who.

"I will have the oven roasted rump of spring lamb," Nicola ordered closing her menu, she liked the sound of it and she was starving right now after the long day they'd had.

"I will have rump steak English beef with chunky chips." Fernando ordered handing his menu over to Charlie and moving to pour them some wine, Charlie nodded her head and wrote down their orders before she walked away.

Nicola watched her leave as Fernando sipped on his glass of wine, she couldn't help but be curious about what was going on and she wondered if it was just her.

"Does she look familiar to you?" Nicola asked her husband, who licked his lips and looked over at the brunette who had served him; there was something familiar about her but he couldn't place it.

"It's probably nothing," Fernando said dismissing the thought and smiled at his wife, Nicola raised an eyebrow at him as she sipped on her own wine, she watched as he took her hand and kissed it.

"I think this is the first time since we married that we've had dinner alone together," Fernando mused making Nicola nod with the two girls, they found it difficult to have time to themselves and before that they had Nicola's coven to deal with.

"We should do this more often," Nicola told him making Fernando chuckle and nod as Charlie appeared with their meal; the brunette flashed them a smile before she left them alone.

Nicola looked at Fernando who shrugged at how fast that they had been served; it was better than waiting forever for their meal which would ruin their night out.

The rest of the evening went beautifully and by the end of the night Nicola and Fernando couldn't keep their hands off of each other; the couple didn't know what it was but they were a little tipsy.

Stumbling into their home, Fernando kicked the door closed as his lips remained attached to Nicola's as she helped him out of his jacket; he loved her so much and he didn't know what he would ever do without her.

"I think we had a little too much wine," Nicola giggled while Fernando kissed down her neck and hummed in agreement with her, the couple had barely finished off the bottle that they'd shared but it had a strange effect on them.

"Why don't we take this up to our bedroom Mr. Torres?" Nicola teased stepping away from him with a grin making Fernando smirk at her as something inside them begged them to become one again after so long.

The couple had been so busy since Charlotte had been born, they had done so much and barely had time for each other but that was all going to change.

"I think we shall Mrs. Torres," Fernando replied before he picked Nicola up and carried her up to their bedroom; he kicked the bedroom door shut behind them.

Nicola quickly helped her husband out of his shirt while he unzipped her dress allowing it to drop to her feet; the couple's lips met each other in a frenzied manor as they undressed.

"I love you Fernando... more than anything else," Nicola whispered pulling away from him for a moment, the need to tell him this overwhelming what they had been doing.

"Te amo Nicola... I don't know what I would do without you," Fernando told her before he kissed her softly, the couple fell back onto their bed; consumed by the feeling inside of them as they became one.

Nicola whimpered as Fernando pinned her to the bed as he hovered over her, his lips moving down her neck; she didn't know what it was but there was a horrible nagging feeling that started to eat away at her.

"Ignore it... just focus on us," Fernando murmured nipping at her neck before he kissed her lips; the blonde licked her lips and nodded as she moaned.

Whatever she was sensing could wait until tomorrow, right now all that mattered was her and Fernando; that for once they had time for each without having to worry about their children.
