"this mark is center stage," a staff member pointed out. he and a few other stage crew pointed out things for you and your backup dancers to take note of while being on stage. your manager followed behind, also taking note of everything.

one of the numerous music award shows for the end of the year was happening tonight. once they were done explaining everything, you waited for the sound check to start, hoping that you wouldn't screw up.

"we'll start now," someone announced and you stood center stage. the backup dancers were around you in their various starting poses while your manager went to go stand off stage with another staff person from your company.

a blackout happened and you waited for the music to start playing in your in-ear monitors.

"we're sorry, something happened in the sound booth," a different voice announced, "please stand by."

the lights came back on, and you sighed in relief. you were too nervous about the whole show, so this mishap helped you out a lot.

"y/n!"

you heard a familiar voice and looked in the audience. tables had been set up for celebrities. a few weaving around while waiting for the live award show to start.

then, you found a familiar face waving at you. you waved back at dokyeom, and he walked up to the stage.

"you look pretty," he immediately commented. then, he gestured you to go over to him.

you smiled at him and walked over to him, "thank you." the front of the stage was seamlessly lined with stairs so you stepped down to meet him.

"you're nervous," he mentioned, noticing the way your hands were slightly shaking. you nodded in response, but dokyeom smiled brightly at you, "you're going to do great," he said to reassure you. "i'm surprised you're going to use a microphone if your hands are shaking," he commented.

"it's easier for me," you replied, "i don't like the other ones," you added. although, you knew that he knew you didn't like microphones that weren't handheld. "are you guys performing tonight?" you asked him, unsure if they were going to perform or only attending to receive an award.

he nodded, "yea. our short "be the sun" setlist," he mentioned.

you smiled, "can't wait to hear it."

"can't wait to hear you sing too," he replied and grabbed your hand to lightly kiss the back of your hand. you knew he wanted to kiss you, but you were shy despite your relationship being known and you had lip makeup on. however, if he had kissed you, it wouldn't have been the first time your makeup artist had to fix your makeup.

"okay, we'll get started now. please go back into your starting positions please," one of the staff members spoke up using a microphone.

you smiled at dokyeom, and he let you go with a smile. you walked back to where you would start and took a deep breath in.

but all of a sudden, you heard dokyeom cheer, "y/n, you got this!"

with a huge smile on your face, you waited for the music to start.
