The next morning went as how it usually went. I woke up, showered, took care of my hygiene, picked out a T-shirt and biker shorts, and go downstairs.

I figured Christian would be gone seeing that he's a man who does not care if he's injured, but to my surprise he was sitting at the island eating breakfast. There was an empty plate next to him with chocolate chip pancakes, eggs, bacon and some fruit.

My eyes widened. "Who cooked this?" I asked

"I did." He said without looking my way as he payed attention to whatever was on his phone.

"I didn't know you could cook."

"Now you know."

"If it tastes awful I'm not gonna be nice about it." I said setting my expectations low. He didn't reply.

First I tried the eggs. I felt my eyes roll to the back of my head. Damn it was good. I had try my best not to moan by how good it was. Eager I tried everything else in my plate and I had the same reaction. The food was so good it made my toes curls.

"How was it?" He walked with a knowing smirk on his face

"I mean it was okay. I've had better" I said lying

He leaned back of the bar stool and crossed his arms. Amusement was all over his face, "really? That's interesting because we've been at a lot of good restaurants and yet if never seen you react like that to food."

"Whatever. It is wasn't bad......"

"Hmmm wasn't bad huh? Is that why nothing is left in your plate?" He asked trying to his smile

"Fine.... It was really good." I finally said

He smirked. I observed him, I hadn't realized the severity of his wounds. Maybe because it was in the night or some bruises just started showing but who ever he fought him got him good.

"What happened last night?" I said letting my thoughts get the better of me.

"We had him." Immediately I knew who he was referring to. "We cut off their money supply so we were able to track their movements more easily. He was in New York for some underworld meeting. That mafia and I teamed up and shut the meeting down. Guns were blazing but I was focused on one person. That man gave me a fight as you can see, I broke multiple bones on him but he most likely didn't even feel it. He had every intent to kill me. So I used what I knew and rubbed it in his face how much I loved his daughter." He shrugged

"Turns out he didn't like that. He pulled out a blade from side and sliced me. I use that same blade and stabbed him in multiple places but I stared getting weak because of the amount of blood I was losing. His men were slaughtered but I didn't care about his men, I wanted him dead so I didn't stop fighting. He managed to get a gun before me and he aimed at me. He pulled the trigger, but it didn't get me, it got Sal who for some reason jumped in front of me." He explained

"Wait Sal, your father who wanted us dead took a bullet for you." I asked

"Weird right?" he shook his head. "Tony took that opportunity and shot at Alex, but Tony is a terrible shooter. That's why we keep him with the blades and business stuff. He managed to shoot him in the stomach but I know he's not dead. That was too easy. For confirmation I sent a few men back to the site to see if his body was there and they all reported a trail of blood that headed towards the exit. Meaning he was indeed alive"

"That's not surprising." I said plainly. I knew Alex wouldn't be dead and quite frankly I wanted to kill him.

Changing the subject I said "there's supposed to be a snow storm tonight. So just in case you leave today, you might wanna stay there for the night."
