Chapter 42: The house.

Lilly had put everyone out of bed and on their feet. They were all jumping in the cars towards the house.Lilly joined Steve and Dustin in his car.                                                                                                    While Nancy was driving with Robin, Lucas and Max.She was looking outside the window hoping they would get to the supermarket for Eddie soon. But they needed to check out this new lead.

Nancy stopped the car and they all jumped out of the car. Steve parked directly behind Nancy.As they were walking up to the house they were looking around.The windows were broken and with wooden planks they tried to keep intruders out. It was old and it almost looked like it could collapse if you made the wrong move.

'Yeah, that's not creepy.' Steve said as he joined the group and looked up at the house.Lilly marched towards the door and saw that they the wooden planks were all nailed shut to the doors.'Yeah well to bad, doors locked we can't come in' Robin said with a shaky voice. To which Lilly pulled a hammer out of her jacket. Everyone was staring at Lilly and Steve just scoffed. As the both of them started getting the nails out of the wood so they could go through the door.'So.. What exactly are we supposed to be looking for in this shithole?' Steve asked.

'We're not sure.' Nancy answered honestly.'We just know that this house is important to Vecna.' 'Because Max saw it in Vecna's red soup mind world?' Steve asked again while getting a bit of board of the door.'Basicly.' Lilly nodded.

'Great.' 'Maybe it holds a clue to where Vecna is.Why he's back. Why he killed the Creels.' Dustin suggested.'And how to stop him before he comes back for Max.' Robin added to Dustin's words.Everyone just stopped for a secondIt was just like everyone thought the same thing.But Lucas spoke the words everyone thought.'We don't think he's in here, right?' 'Guess we find out..' Max answered.

'Ready?' Steve than said to Lilly who was nodding.They both pulled on the board in front of the door and it came actually off.It fell to the floor and they all were silent for a moment.The Rose in the stained glass, was exactly like Max her drawing.Steve was rattling on the doorknob.'It's locked.' Steve said. 'Should i knock? See if anybody's home?' Steve said trying to lighten the mood.

'No need.' Lilly said as she had been looking around the door for a bit and had found a brick.She lifted it up to show to everyone.'I found a key' She said with a shrug.And she stepped a bit closer and threw it straight through the stained glass in the door.She was lucky she threw it through the glass and it shattered a bit downwards so Steve could pull his arm through and unlock the door.

They door squeeked when it opened. Steve was the first to step in and Lilly was a close second.The dark blonde guy let out a whistle to hear some movement or to get a reaction but nothing replied. lucas tried to turn on a light but it didn't work.'Looks like someone forgot to pay their electric bill.' He said.To which Lilly scoffed as she pulled her finger over the cabinet where the lamp was standing on.'For like ten years at least.' Lilly added to Lucas his comment.

To which Dustin turned on his flashlight looking at everyone before turning around to look at some of the photo's that were hanging the hallway.'Where'd everyone get those?' Steve asked looking at the flashlights.Dustin turned to him and looked at Steve.'Do you need to be told everything?You're not a child..' Dustin told Steve.

To which Lilly couldn't help but bursted out laughing.Steve was looking almost hurt by Dustin comment. 'Thankyou.' He just said to Dustin.Dustin then pulled off his backpack and said 'Backpocket' to Steve.As Steve looked in the backpocket and pulled out another flashlight.They were all spreading out looking around the house.

'They left everything.' Nancy said.'Guess a triple homicide isn't good for resale value.' Robin answered.'Hey guys..?' Max suddenly asked.To which everyone turned to see where Max was.'You all see that right?' She asked again. Her flashlight was shining on a huge father clock.'Yeah.' All the guys said.Lilly just nodded.

'Is this what you saw?In your visions?' Nancy asked Max.Max just nodded. Everyone was staring at it. And then Robin came forward trying to lighten the mood.'I mean, it's just... a clock?right?' Robin tried to re assure herself as she walked over to the clock.The plate with the time was all dusty and when Robin came close she put her hand over the dust and cleaned it. She looked at it for a second before looking back to the others.'Like a normal old clock.' She said.'Why is this wizard obsessed with clocks?' Steve utterd.'Maybe he's like... a clockmaker or something?' 'Jee. I really think you cracked the case here Steve.' Dustin said rolling with his eyes.To which Lilly really needed to purse her lips together because she would have been rolling over the ground with laughter.

'All i know is...The answers are here..somewhere' Nancy said looking around the house.'Everyone stay in groups..' Nancy ordered.'Robin upstairs.' She said as the both of them dissapeared to the stairs.

'Guys?' Lilly then said. Making everyone stop in their tracks.'I know were making real progress here..But i have a really bad feeling about Eddie..' Lilly stuttered.'I'm not sure what it is.. but can we like check on him?Or I...?'

Everyone was looking at Lilly.Steve had his eyebrow raised she had started a cold sweat. It was not the horny teenager vibe Steve would have thought she would have had so she had a moment alone with him.But she was really looking distressed.

'Here take my keys..Were going to the store for him after were done here.' Steve said. Lilly couldn't believe it.Did Steve just really gave her his keys.But she didn't question it at all.She gratefully took the keys and she was out of the house.
