Tangled Strings (sequel to Red Strings)

Chapter 47

"I just wanted to call and wish you all a Merry Christmas!" We hear laughing followed by screaming "Anna! Don't do that!" she shouts. "Sorry guys my sisters on the verge of a mental break down, bye!" We all look at each other confused. 

"That was so weird" Calum states. "That's Emma" I sigh, I feel someone lean close to me. "Follow me." Luke whispers and then leaves the room. "I uh, I'm going to go get more hot chocolate..." I lie only a few seconds later, no one seems to notice except Ashton who sends me a wink as I walk away. 

As soon I enter the dark hallway a pair of lips finds mine. I smile into it, wrapping my arms around his neck and pulling our bodies closer together. "I really hope this is Luke." I joke, he snorts pulling me in for another kiss. "Merry Christmas." he whispers against my shoulder. "As to you Hemmings." I say in between pecks. "As to you..." he giggles. 

"I've been wanting to kiss you all day, you think they have any idea?" he asks dropping his hands to my waist. 

"Other then the all knowing Ashton?" I tease. "Nope." We kiss again and I feel butterflies in my stomach, then he hands me a small silver box. "What's this?" I ask curiously eyeing the box, Luke has already bought me a blue polaroid camera that I had been wanting for a while. 

"Just open it!" he urges chewing his bottom lip. I smile delicately opening the top of the box. Inside lies a silver chain with a beautiful heart pendant on the end. I gasp holding it up in front of me. 

"Luke I- it's beautiful you didn't have to..." "Look at the back." he tells me, I flip the pendant around the letters L + S are engraved. "I know it's really cheesy but I kept thing of what to get you and then I-" I cut him off crashing our lips together. 

"I love it" I tell him undoing the clasp at the back "and I love you so so much!" Luke smiles sheepishly "Will you put it on me?" I ask holding it out. Luke nods and gently places the pendant around me, I look down at it and feel the tears threaten to fall again. 

"Perfect." he whispers.  I blush embarrassed. "We should um... get back." I tell him reluctantly. Luke shakes his head at me and I pull away only keeping our hands connected. 

"Hey what took you so long?" Sylvana asks leaning over the fire and poking at it. "And you didn't even get the hot chocolate!" Michael complains. I cough. "Yeah I um...I burned it." 

"How does someone burn hot chocolate?" Natalie asks clearly not impressed. "I don't know!" I shout waving my arms around, everyone stares at me and then Vana shrugs going back to her usual spot next to Ashton. 

"Hey has anyone seen Luke?" she says randomly looking around the room I freeze. "I think he went back home to get something." Ashton lies "Should be back soon." 

I take a grateful sigh and Ashton winks at me again . That jerk. Calum goes to sit next to Nat and she moves over a little just enough that I can tell Calum's noticed too. "Hey, are you ok Nat?" I ask she looks up noticing all the eyes on her and gulps.

"Yeah fine." she says. Calum grins rubbing circles into her back I can tell she's lying but I didn't want to force her into saying something she clearly wasn't ready too. "Hey, um Emma's throwing a party tonight you guys interested?" 

"Are you kidding?" Michael asks jumping up. "I love you guys, but if I have to 5th wheel you guys any longer I'm going to explode!" "Um... Sky and I aren't together" Luke lies. "Yeah, yeah, whatever." Michael waves

"I wouldn't mind going to a party..." Ashton chimes in helping change the subject. "Oh me too!" Sylvana chimes in. I shoot Natalie a look and she nods slightly almost she was trying to her convince herself. "Yeah I could go for a party." Natalie agrees a smile tugging on her lips. "Natalie needs to get her party on?" Calum teases nudging her she rolls her eyes fondly.
