To The Mountains

Kane POV

After half an hour I slide the plate next to the woman. She looks at it then me.

Woman: "What is it?"

Kane: "Cheese enchiladas and Mexican rice topped with homemade queso."

I hand her a fork. She scoops a bite of rice with enchilada. Gingerly she takes a bite. The second she closes her mouth her eyes turn to stars.

Woman: "This is the most delicious meal I've ever had!!!!"

Bite after bite the meal quickly vanishes. She sighs patting her belly.

Woman: "Where'd you learn to cook something like that?"

Kane: "Not from here, that's for damn sure."

Woman: "That dish was amazing, would you mind teaching me how to make it?"

Kane: "Sure."

*timeskip presented by Kane teaching the woman to cook the meal*

Kane: "And that's all there is to it."

Woman: "It was surprisingly easy to learn. Is there any more dishes you know?"

Kane: "Hundreds of them."

Her eyes sparkle at the thought of all that food. She then develops a smirk.

Woman: "You taught me so much. I'll have to show my thanks."

My eyebrows slightly raise.

Kane: "That won't be necessary. You-"

Woman: "Shut up."

Kane: *slightly scared* "Yes mam."

She comes closer getting in my bubble.

3rd POV

Seeing no food being served the owner becomes slightly furious. Marching to the kitchen he throws open the door.

Owner: "Why aren't the customers being served?"

His eyes fall on Kane.

Owner: "Who're you?"

Kane: "I'm the new guy."

Owner: "Have you seen Akari? She's supposed to be serving the guests."

Kane: "I'm sure she's around someWHERE!"

The owner stares at Kane weirdly. He then spots the dozens of plates of food.

Owner: "What're these?"

Kane: "Orders."

Owner: "They smell delicious. They'll do nicely."

Grabbing two trays he takes the plates out to the guests.

Kane POV

I sigh as Akari stands back up.

Kane: "You could've gotten us caught."

Akari: "I'm pretty sure he already knows."

The owner then walks back into the kitchen.

Owner: "Those dishes are a hit, keep 'em coming!"

He spots Akari.

Owner: "Akari, get to it. And button your shirt, this ain't a brothel."

I slink out of the kitchen where I spot Hajime and company leaving.

Hajime: "Where were you?"

Kane: "In the kitchen."

Hajime: "Doing?"

I smile.

Yue: "Pervert."

Kane: "She came onto me."

Shea: "Sure she did."

Kane: "Shut up rabbit."

The very next day we head up to mountains. We soon come to a stop seeing something in the road. Squinting our eyes we see a group of people.

Hajime: "I think I know where this' heading. Go on, let's hear it."

Woman: "We're gonna help you in the mountains. A search party should be as big as possible to cover more ground, wouldn't you agree?"

Kane: "The old woman's got a point."

Woman: "I ain't old! I'm only thirty two!"

Kane: "Sounds kinda old to me."

Woman: "You have no manners. You need to be lectured."

Kane: "Joke's on you, I get off on being lectured by older women."

She shivers in fear. She then whispers something in Hajime's ear.

Hajime: *sigh* "Alright fine, you can tag along."

After summoning a four wheeled vehicle we make our way down the road. 

Hajime: "So Shimizu's gone missing?"

Woman: "And we have no idea where he might be. I just hope he's not in any trouble."

Hajime: "I'm sure he'll be fine."

Kane: "Who's this Shimizu fella?"

Hajime: "He's a fellow classmate. Always kept to himself. Real loner type."

Kane: "How old is he?"

Hajime: "Seventeen."

I develop a sympathetic look.

Woman: "Quick question, why're you riding on the roof? It's highly unsafe."

Kane: "Safety can piss off. I'm fucking immortal."

Woman: "Why must you use such harsh language?"

Kane: "Why must you be old?"

Woman: "For the last time, I'm only thirty two!"

Hajime: "Heads up, we're here."

We stop in the middle of a forest. Hajime then makes some weird flying objects appear.

Kane: "What're those things?"

Hajime: "Human seeking automatons called Ornis. They use a gravity stone to fly and an induction stone to think. Oh and there's also a peering stone inside them that's connected to my eye allowing me to see what they see."

Kane: "Neat."

Hajime: "Looks like they found something. Let's check it out."
