"Good luck." Daniel wishes me, pressing a last kiss onto my forehead before he makes his way back to his own car, getting in the right mindset for the start of the race. I try to concentrate too, knowing I set my Alfa into a descent position in qualifying and that I can make up some positions today if some chaos happens at the front.

My personal trainer and I make some last preparations and I get a few last tips from my race engineer before it is time to gear up and be buckled in the seat. I try to breath calmy, not getting too nervous before the start and remain focussed as long as possible.

The formation lap flies by and before I can think even further, we are in our starting position. The red lights lit up one by one and I keep looking at them until they suddenly switch up and I need to react as quick as possible. My start is decent, not making me loose any position but I do not gain one either.

I stay close with my rivals but when we drive into the second corner which is a lot tighter than the first one no one pulls back. My car gets locked between two other cars, and I need to work a lot to keep it on track and do not be out of the race after just a short amount of time.

"Fuck, I got sandwiched. Is the car, okay?" I ask my engineer as soon as I can take a deep breath again. It doesn't feel strange but maybe I got damage to the car which is not visible for me right now and it wouldn't surprise me if anything is broken on it.

"Yellow flags are out, follow the delta. We are checking the car." My engineer says quickly, and I reduce my pace to not be punished by the stewards for speeding. I warm up my tires and my race engineer give me all clear about the car, everything seems to be fine, and I take a deep breath in believe because that means I am able to fight for the rest of the race.

"Watch out there is a lot of debris on the track." I get informed when we drive by the place where the chaos on the previous lap happened. When I see the orange of a McLaren, I get worried because this could mean my boyfriend had a short race.

"Who is out?" I ask because I can't spot which of the McLarens is damaged and out of the race, needing to concentrate on keeping my own car on the track and not crashing behind the safety car like one of the junior category drivers did earlier today.

"Daniel is out, and Leclerc has damaged his front wing and is on the back of the grid now." My heart sinks for a second, I hate when people crash but when it involves it always makes me feel sick. I don't really care about the part which Charles, even though I know the Monegasque will be fuming while Max will laugh because he is back there too and that means his championship rival will not sprint away with a lot of point.
