Elena's POV (A few hours later, Phil's car)

When we passed the "Welcome to Duskwood" sign, it was around 1am. Both Phil and I were so exhausted that I almost fell asleep in the car and he had to buy coffee for himself on the way to fight the urge to fall asleep in front of the wheel.

Phil took the next turn and that's when my phone seemed like it was about to explode with a avalanche of notifications. I furrowed my brow and reached for my phone. That's when I realized that I had just regained reception now...

Then I started telling them everything. I told them about the strange town that, on the one hand, looked like the biggest shithole I've ever seen, and on the other hand, like the center of the American dream...

I told them how hard it was to get there, how many times we got lost, and what I found there, but... I didn't mention the letter from Jake, or his luxury apartment, or the fact that the guy from the chat is named Luka. Why? I omitted the contents of the letter due to obvious reasons, but the rest... I just know they would have a lot of questions that I don't have the strength to answer. Maybe I'll tell them tomorrow? We'll see...
