Taylor had to catch her breath in order to see through the reality of this.
Once it was confirmed to be real, she couldn't get any words out and only continued to stare at the ring you were holding out to her, down on your knee waiting for her to either accept or reject your proposal. You felt ready to take things to the next level of commitment, but if Taylor wasn't, you could respect that.
Her eyes were screaming to accept it already, but her body language was telling you otherwise, that she just wasn't ready yet. It took a few extra minutes before either of you spoke, having it turned out to be you for the first to speak.
"Taylor?"
"Oh, (Y/n)... I don't know if I'm ready for this yet. I mean, I love you and I'm very much in love with you, you are my world. But I just- I just can't accept your hand in marriage."
All you could do at first was to get yourself back on your feet and stand up, taking Taylor's hands in yours reassuringly.
"I truly don't mean to disappoint you-"
"Taylor, listen. There is nothing in the world you could ever do to disappoint me, not even if you tried for any reason. If you're not ready for that, I'm okay with that, I truly am and I truly understand of your not feeling ready for this big step into our relationship. Just know that this will be waiting for you whenever you're ready for it, if that's alright with you. It will always be here unless something happens between the both of us later on. Which to be clear, I don't ever see happening."
Taylor takes you in for one of her famous hugs, the kind of hug that makes everything better, no matter the situation.
The two of you remain like that for what seemed like an eternity before pulling apart from each other. Taylor examines your face and the eyes staring right back at her as she ticks a strand of hair behind your ear, giving you a small smile.
"What have I done to deserve you?"
"You didn't have to do anything, other then to just be yourself. I love you for the way you are, and nothing can ever change that. I could ask you the same question."
"I just love you for you, (Y/n). Like you, I don't ever see anything happening between us in the future other then a happily ever after."
Those words sent chills down your spine and throughout your body, your cheeks blushing a light shade of pink, it also brought butterflies in your tummy, the kind that makes you feel warm inside as you hear this. Sometimes everything you and Taylor had seemed almost too good to be true.
You were living a real life fairytale with the woman you love and absolutely adore.
