Melancholy; a feeling of pensive sadness, typically with no obvious cause.

The slight chance that I could ever possibly drown, didn't scare me.

Although, the fact that large bodies of water where you can't see anything seemed to scare the shit out of me.

Statistically speaking, an average of 3,500 to 4,000 people drown per year. Which is an average of 10 fatal drownings per day.

They say that drowning is painful.

The air you're so desperately trying to get, replaces itself with water.

Filling up your mouth.

Filling up your throat.

Filling up your lungs.

It adds weight, dragging you down, more and more into the water. You want that breath of fresh air.

So you open your mouth,

water.

No air.

No help.

Since you aren't getting your air and it's only getting the water, your body automatically coughs, causing the left over air to leave you.

Water fills up your lungs.

It burns.

But guess what, you're too tired to try and fight it.

Too tired to try and swim.

Too tired to try and fight for that air.

Fight for the fact that maybe there is a chance for help.

But deep down, deep, deep, deep, down, you know, no one can help you.

You're already too far gone.

I'm already too far gone.
