last night was the best night I've slept ever
I missed the feeling of being held while I slept. every night when my husband was alive and not away we would sleep the exact same way me and Corbyn did
and after he died or when he was away, one of the kids would also sleep with me
but now that my older ones are well older, and my babies are getting up there I haven't had it in a while
so being able to feel that again but with Corbyn is nice
I wake up early and kiss him which makes him wake up
"hi" he whispers still half asleep
"hi I have to go pick up my kids I'll be back"
"Can I come?" he yawns
"I mean if you really want to. but I have to go now"
"that's okay"
"well then get up I guess"
he stands up and smiles at me
"what are you smiling at"
"you. you're so beautiful"
"stop I'm not in the morning"
"yes, you are. anyways can I have my shirt back"
"no it's comfortable" I smile
"But I need it"
"no, I need it"
"can I have it back though"
"only if you kiss me"
he walks over to me and kisses me softly
"here you go" I take off the shirt and hand it to him
"I should bring you some of mine so you always can wear them"
"yes please"

we get to my ex-husband's moms house and I go inside to get the kids while Corbyn stays in the car
"hey savannah," his mom says
"hi how were they"
"wonderful as always. Ellie was having trouble sleeping so I let her sleep with me if that's okay"
"of course it is. what was wrong?"
"I'm not sure. she did tell me though that she was having a weird dream about her dad"
"oh... well I'll ask her about it. um where are they anyways"
"Rae's helping them get ready. they're upstairs if you wanted to see them"
I nod and walk to where she pointed
when I walk into the room Ellie sees me
"momma! you're here!" she says happily running over to me
"hi baby I missed you last night"
"I missed you too. I had a bad dream"
"I heard let's talk about it later. where's everyone else"
"how am I supposed to know"
"you've been with them all night"
"so I needed my time to myself"
"okay Ellie well can we find them"
"mhm. I think they're with Rae. oh, mommy Hunter never stops talking! he's learning"
"yay!"
we find everyone else and leave
"mommy who's in the car?" Jordan asks
"oh, Corbyn. he came with me"
"YAY, YOU'RE FRIENDS WITH HIM AGAIN!" Jordan screams
"Jordy who corb," Hunter asks
"its Corbyn and his momma's friend"
I help everyone in the car and Jordan climbs up to Corbyn
"hi Corbyn I missed you," he says hugging him
"I missed you too. how was your night"
"It was fun how was yours and my mommy's"
"also fun. go sit down and put your seat belt on your mom wants to leave now"
"okay Corby I see you at home"
everyone is all set in the car and we drive home
as I'm driving he secretly puts his hand on my leg
"Savannah" he whispers
"yeah?"
"you're beautiful"
"Corbyn not in front of my kids"
"I'm just telling you. you deserve to know"
