Chapter 45

"So don't misunderstand me

You put the light in my life

You put the sparks to the flame

I've got your heart in my sights"

Everyone cheers and they step away from the mics. "You guys are insane!" I chuckle pulling Sylvana into a one armed hug. "We were amazing!" "Yeah whatever." I say rolling my eyes. "Hey guys, Jude brought more beer!" Emma calls motioning everyone towards the table Sylvana squeals dragging Ashton towards her with the table. Luke leans over. "You want to get out of here?" he asks me I nod silently and he grins walking towards the door. 

I instantly feel the cool air hit me as we start to walk away from the house.  "So... what's the plan now?" "What do you mean?" "With the band, I mean the song you released is amazing it's blowing up on the charts!" Luke blushed running a hand through his now very long hair. 

"God, I need a hair cut…" he mumbles to himself. "I don't really know, this is all I've ever wanted to play music and have people listen." I look at the ground a smile tugging on the corner of my lips. "I'm really proud of you ya know." Luke lets out a breathless laugh. 

"I'm serious I know I don't say it enough but you're amazing and you guys have come so far." "So have you!" he counters. "When I first met you, you had no idea what you wanted to do or what you wanted to do, and now look at you a million youtube subscribers!" he bumps our shoulders together and we walk in a comfortable silence. 

And suddenly I start giggling. "What?" he asks. "What!" I shove his shoulder.  "Race you to the swings!" I shout taking off in the direction of the park. "No fair Andrews!" he shouts after me. I'm about to reach the swing set when I feel somebody pull me back. 

I squeal as Luke spins me around, he reaches his hand out for the chain. "No!" I say jumping on his back he takes a few steps back but still manages to touch the swing set. Stupid freakishly long arms, I think to myself standing back on the ground. We both sit down on the swings out of breath. 

"I totally won!" "What how?" "I just won." "No you didn't!" "Yes I did." "You're ridiculous!" "You're ridiculous!" "Luke I'm sorry!" I blurt out suddenly he turns away from me focusing his eyes on the playground, the only sound being the rusty chain of my swing set. 

"I meant what I said on the phone Skyler." I breath a sigh of relief "I forgive you and Michael." he pauses for a second biting his lip. "We weren't even really together at the time anyway, but I wish you would have talked to me instead." "I do too... I didn't wanted to prove to you I could deal with things on my own, I was scared Luke and it honestly didn't mean anything and we realized it was a mistake as soon as it happened." We both look at each other and he smirks. "Dorkay?" he asks holding out his hand. "Dorkay." I agree grabbing it. 

Natalie's POV

"Calum it's so fucking early why are you calling me?" I groan as I look to see it's about 10 in the morning aka my definition of early.  "It's 10 Natalie, it's at least the double digits." Calum says and I groan again, practically about to smack him through the phone.  

"What is it then?" I ask laying on my bed.  God it was so nice and warm and it happened to be perfect for falling back asleep.... "Natalie you didn't tell your mom yet did you?" "Tell her what?" I ask, still in my sleepy state.  "The deal?  About what happened?" Calum asks, seeing if it would get my memory jogging.  

"Shit...." I groan and Calum then says "Natalie you gotta tell her sometime." "I know but...." I start but I give up.  "Natalie that's it, I'm coming over." "Cal don't you dare-" "Natalie." he says and I sigh and say "Fine.  But if my mom tries to slash your throat that's not my fault."  He chuckles on the other end, before he says "Listen I'll be there in a few alright?"
