The Next Emerald pt 1

Cream: See you later!!!
Cream waves goodbye to Sonic and Knuckles as she runs off. Sonic and Knuckles both wave back.
Knuckles: She was kind.
Sonic: Yeah, she is.
Knuckles grips his new hat.
Knuckles: You sure this looks good on me?
Sonic smiles.
Sonic: Looks perfect.
Somic then sniffs the air.
Sonic: Heeey, what's that smell?
Sonic walks towards a stand that has a bunch of chilidogs. A duck is running the stand.
Ducky: Hey there, welcome to my chilidog slash lemonade slash grape stand... or as I like to call it, my Chilemope stand.
Sonic grabs a chili dog.
Sonic: This smells so gooooood!!!!
Ducky. Never had one before?
Sonic shakes his head and Ducky smiles.
Ducky: Well go ahead, on the house.
Sonic takes a bite and his eyes turn to stars.
Sonic: Shoooooo goooooood!!!
Ducky laughs as Knuckles walks towards Knuckles. Knuckles looks at the chili dog with interest.
Knuckles: What is it?
Ducky: Never seen a chili dog before?
Sonic: He's kinda.... new to this place.
Ducky: Ah! Well then, try one yourself.
Knuckles grabs a chili dog and bites into it. Knuckles' eyes also turn into stars. Ducky smiles.
Ducky: It seems you also like it.
Knuckles: It's really good!! It's like the god Chaos himself created it.
Ducky: Chaos?
Sonic: Ah don't worry about it. Say Knuckles, let's go show Tails and Nicole your new hat.
Knuckles: Ok. Wonder what they'll think of it.
Sonic: They'll love it. Trust me.
Sonic and Knuckles wave to Ducky as they walk back to the hangar. The two see Tails working on the Tornado.
Sonic: Yo Tails!!!
Tails looks up and smiles. He waves at the two as he continues to fix the Tornado.
Tails: Where have you two been?
Sonic: In the town. Look at Knuckles' new hat.
Tails sees the hat on Knuckles and smiles.
Tails: Whoa! That looks awesome on you Knuckles. Nice find.
Knuckles smirks.
Knuckles: Thanks. It just looked cool so I just wanted to have it.
Sonic: So how's the Tornado? All good?
Tails: Pretty much.
Tails uses a wrench and tightens a nut. Tails wipes away some sweat.
Tails: Alright, the Tornado is good and ready to go.
Sonic: Alright!! I'm excited for our next adventure, now that we have Knuckles with us.
Knuckles nods.
Knuckles: Hope it involves punching. I'm always up for a good fight. Especially if it's against the RoboEmperor.
Tails: Sorry we couldn't stop him from stealing the Master Emerald.
Knuckles shrugs.
Knuckles: Nothing you could've done Tails. We were all helpless.
Knuckles grips his fists tightly.
Knuckles: But I promise I'll get it back!! No matter what!!
Sonic smirks and flicks his nose with his thumb.
Sonic: And we'll be there to help. I promise.
Knuckles smiles.
Knuckles: Thanks.
Rotor: So this is your new friend!!
The three turn to see Rotor and Nicole walking towards them. Knuckles gets tense but Sonic puts a hand on his shoulder.
Sonic: Relax, Rotor's a friend.
Knuckles sighs and relaxes. Rotor smirks.
Rotor: Not used to others yet huh?
Knuckles. Yeah. But nice to meet you.
Knuckles holds out a hand and Rotor smiles as he shakes Knuckles' hand.
Rotor: Nice to meet you. Anyways, Eggman has agreed to have your friend join your team.
Sonic: Yes!!
Tails smiles.
Tails: Alright Knuckles!!! Your officially on the team!!
Knuckles smiles and nods his head.
Nicole: Which is fortunate, as I have located the next emerald.
Sonic: Then what are we waiting for?
Somic jumps onto the wings of the Tornado.
Sonic: Let's get going!
Tails and Knuckles get into their seats as Nicole digitizes into the plane. Rotor does a two finger salute.
Rotor: Safe travels my friends.
Sonic nods and looks back to Tails.
Sonic: You ready?
Tails nods.
Tails: Good to go.
Knuckles: Let's see the action!!
The Tornado proceeds to lift off the ground.
Sonic: Let's beat the RoboEmperor to that next emerlad!!! Let's gooo!!!

(In the distance)

As the Tornado sets off, the robotic Sonic watches in the distance and then flies after them at a distance.

Wow, another new chapter. Seriously proud of myself for writing another chapter so soon, even if it's shorter. Just a nice setup for the next short arc. Also, like I've been saying, please tell me how much you've been enjoying the series, ask me anything and give me some critiques.
