Feeling like Lizzie is too good for you; living in the big apple as a musician

I woke up in a random bed like I did most mornings. Not even recognizing who I was in bed with. I did that a lot. I couldn't tell you who their name was. Most times I couldn't even remember when I started talking to the person the night before. I quickly got up dressed and got out of there before whoever that was wakes up. That was my thing if I was honest. I would party too much, go home with a stranger, and be gone before they even realize it.

I went to my small apartment in Brooklyn to get changed. Somehow I ended up in Queens with whoever I woke up with. I then headed down to the studio. We had a concert coming up in a few weeks. So, we're getting in all the rehearsals we could while making appearances at clubs and exclusive parties. I was tuning my guitar when the rest of my band mates came walking in.

Lily, the only other girl, walked over to me smirking. "Late night, again?"

I playfully rolled my eyes at her. "Always baby."

She laughed picking up her bass and getting into her position. Everyone was getting ready. I loved that so far we've been relatively drama free.

"Alright! Let's get this rehearsal started!" Our manager yelled and we began with the first set for the concert.

"You have to come with me tonight y/n!" Lily tried to convince me while we walked to the subway entrance.

"I don't know Lily. It's my first night plan free in weeks." It's true. I haven't slept in my own bed in over two months.

"You'll have other nights! It's a super exclusive party! You know Johnny wants us at all the parties." She looked at me knowingly. She knew I had to do it when she brought up our manager.

I sighed, "Where is it?"

"A penthouse on the upper east side." She said casually.

She knew I hated parties on the upper east side. The first party I went to I kept getting felt on by rich older men. It was disgusting. I avoid parties over there ever since.

"You know how I feel about parties there." I groaned.

"Yeah I know but, you'll think differently when you know who's throwing the party."

I rolled my eyes, "yeah, okay sure. Who's throwing the party?"

"The twin sister of your favorite artist." I looked at her confused. "You know the one you were so sad about when she died?" Then I remember, Josette Laughlin, she died two years ago. I almost quit music because of it.

Her real name was Josette Olivia Saltzman but her stage name was an homage to her mother. She had a twin that would always tour with her. I hadn't heard much of her after her sisters passing but I was sure she was living luxuriously.

"How could you even know that?" I wasn't going to be easily swayed into going.

"I follow the twin." She said in a duh tone. "In my opinion the one that's still alive is way hotter than the dead one."

Some many things rubbed the wrong way when she said that. Like what the hell is going through her mind to just say something like that. I just shook my head as we walked down into the subway.

"So will you come?" Lily almost whined.

I rolled my eyes annoyed. "Fine."

The taxi pulled up to the Milan Condominium and Lily quickly paid the driver before pushing me out of the car.

"I'm so excited! Aren't you excited?!" Lily was bouncing with excitement; that or she's on one.
