'Remind me never to take eight year olds to an arcade ever again' I said as Teni and I slumped in our seats, dropping our handbags on the seats next to us.

We'd arrived ten minutes ago and those ten minutes had been hell.

You have Kenny pulling your right hand towards a game called Monster Attack and Taiwo pulling your left hand towards a totally different game on the other side of the arcade called Dunk It.

Teni wasn't any help at all.

She just stood there, laughing at me as I tried wrestling both boys. In the end, I just gave up and gave each boy fifty tokens each. If they wanted more, they should find me.

The arcade is an average sized game store forty five minutes drive from home. It is almost always crowded, mostly with parents and their kids and then some teenagers playing the more mature games.

It is also always noisy; you can hear nannies and parents shouting, music coming from the games and the noise of the kids anytime they win a game. Just as I brought out my phone to reassure aunt Pebble we were okay, Teni kicked my leg under the table.

'Ouch. Seriously babe, you have to stop with all the hitting okay?' I said glaring at her.

'Who wears cargos and still looks so good?' she said like she hadn't even heard a thing I had said

'Uh, no one' I said, typing the message on my phone and rubbing my sore leg

'Guess again' she said, signaling for me to turn around so I did.

Carter was surrounded by some friends at a game, laughing and just having fun. He glanced my way, catching my eye and smiled at me warmly so I did the first thing that popped into my head.

I quickly turned around. I looked back at Teni and she was smirking

'What?' I asked as she ducked her head into the magazine she was reading

'He's coming over' she said into the magazine. Horror passed my face and I didn't dare turn around

'What do I say?' I asked Teni. She just looked helplessly at me and glanced up

'I don't know but here he is' she put down her magazine and smiled 'Hi'

'Hey. Sierra right?" he asked as I looked up. God, he was fine. He was wearing a black t-shirt with the name of a band I had never heard of and loose cargo shorts. Teni was right. They did him good

'Yes, you remember Teni, don't you?' I said finding my voice. Teni smirked at me and looked back at him

'Sure. How could I forget?' he asked taking the seat next to me and shaking Teni politely

'Besides, we never caught that movie'

'You never got my number' I heard myself say. Was I flirting? I glanced at Teni who was acting like she was really interested in the magazine before her but I knew she was listening attentively to our conversation.

'Yes but you were the one that ran away remember? Just when we were getting to know each other and you didn't even leave a glass slipper' he joked. Was he flirting back? This was interesting
