Y/n Potter is Harry Potter's distant cousin and is the same age. Harry, of course, knew nothing of the sort as he was with the Dursleys. Originally attending Beauxbatons, Y/n's parents thought it'd be fitting for them to move back to Scotland after settling in France for so long. Of course, this meant that Y/n had to transfer into Hogwarts, where the Harry Potter is.
