After nine long hours, Dessiah made it safely into Tokyo International Airport. She was Missing Delaney already but tried to push the thoughts out of her mind. After gathering her luggage she exited to the busy streets in search of a cab. Unable to speak the language she handed the driver who spoke a minimum amount of English her itinerary.

“Yes can you take me to Tokyo Shin-Ju-ku?” She asked from the back seat.

“Wah? Wah you go?” The man asked in his thick native Japanese accent.

“Shin-ju-ku.” She pronounced.  The man stared at her itinerary for the address.

“Oh you go to Shinjuku. We go now” He nodded handing her back the paper.

“Thank you. What is your name?”

“Gou. My name Gou.”

“My name is Dessiah.”

“De… Des..??” He made an attempt at pronouncing her name.

“De-ssiah. Just call me Siah.”

“Siah ok okay we go now.” Dessiah sat back with her head rested against the seat thinking what the hell did she get herself into? In another country with no time to even learn the language. She decided to try and learn what she could since there is no time like the present. Grabbing her phone she tried to use the internet and noticed the taxi had its own wi-fi. Which meant she wouldn’t have to use her own data. She began looking up key phrases in Japanese to make it through her time. After an hour of driving she came to a building that had to have been at least stories high. It stood on the corner taking up most of the block. There were numerous shops and markets occupying the space in which it didn’t take up. It was beyond fancy and looked as if it were made of steel. The sunlight reflected off its corners drawing attention from patrons around or at least tourists who weren’t used to seeing something so beautiful.  Stepping out of the cab Gou rushed to get her luggage placing them at her feet. She handed him money bowed saying “Arigato Gou.” Which meant thank you in Japanese.

“You learn, you learn.” He said excitedly. Dessiah said goodbye and turned around to concierge picking up her luggage from the street.

“Umm wait… I don’t know where…” The concierge walked to the door holding it open for her so he just entered and waited for him to lead the way. The lobby in itself was something made for royalty. White marble floors with Hundred Stay spelled out in burgundy on the ground. White Orchids sat on tables next to cream white couches and bamboo trees stood in each corner. Gold drapes covered the floor to ceiling windows there was a sheer covering that allowed you to see what looked like a serene garden. If she wasn’t mistaken she believed there was a waterfall.  At this very moment her surroundings took her breath away.

“Ma’am can I help you?” A dark haired slender white woman asked in what sounded like a British accent. Pulled out of a daze Dessiah turned her attention to the woman behind the counter on her left. She walked up slowly nervous.

“Hi my name is Dessiah Hawkins I’m here to check in to my room.” Dessiah reached in her purse for her Id and passport. The woman entered her information in the computer.

“Yes Mrs. Hawkins I see you right her. You’re reservation is for Cape 2 studio premier. It’s located on the 21st floor. Here is your key and I’ll need you to sign here and here.” She said placing the check in forms in front of Dessiah and handing her a pen.

“Thank you.” Dessiah said.
