Chapter 64: Good night

[Anton's POV]

Hindi ako mapapanatag pag umalis ako ng Singapore ng di nalalaman kay Clyde kung sino si Pauline sa buhay niya. All this time, akala ko he is alone and not doing well. Kung andito na si Pauline, maybe all Clyde needs to do is move on. Kung ganun, Sage can be with Hannah. Alam ko magulo pero kaibigan ko silang dalawa. Lahat kami miyembro ng Jedi Conspiracy at kahit na hindi na kami nagsasayaw mas maganda na maging maayos pa din ang samahan namin. For old times sake, magkakapatid na ang turingan namin at hindi magandang dahil sa babae lang kami nagkakaganito.

Pinapasok agad ako ni Pauline nung nakita niya akong nasa labas ng condo ni Clyde. May dala akong breakfast. Buti na lang sinobrahan ko at mukhang dito natulog si Pauline.

"Hindi pa gising si Clyde. But if you want to wait, you may. Do you want a coffee?" ngumiti sa akin si Pauline naka-tube siya na black at maong shorts. Lumitaw ang maputi at makinis niyang balat. Pag nakita ni Migs si Pauline for sure, umandar na naman ang pagkababaero nun.

Sa pagka-chinita ni Pauline, lumiliit ang mata niya pag ngumingiti. Ganun din si Hannah. Pero I realize Pauline is different from Hannah. They look alike but Pauline is free-spirited and sophisticated. A high-maintenance girl. Si Hannah naman very simple and innocent. Pero siguro dati na yung pagiging inosente niya kasi Clyde take it away from her. 

"Nagdala ako ng coffee and doughnuts" inabot ko kay Pauline ang dala ko. 

"That is great. I can cook us some eggs and bacon. Tamang tama din kasi any moment now magigising na yun si Clyde" dumeretso si Pauline sa may kitchen.

"I can keep you company" Sumunod ako sa kanya. Ang ayos ng condo ni Clyde. He is never this clean sa bahay niya sa Pilipinas and I know si Pauline ang dahilan kung bakit maayos ang condo niya.

"Ohhh thank you. Actually when Clyde called me na he is with his old friend, I was happy." tumingin sa akin si Pauline at ngumiti habang inaayos niya ang mga lulutuin niya. "You are the first person from his past that I know of. And as his girlfriend, I am very excited about it. Wala kasi siyang kinukwento eh. You know. He is very secretive"

Nagulat ako sa sinabi ni Pauline. "Girlfriend? How long you two have been together?"

Natawa si Pauline "Alam ko na. Hindi sinabi ni Clyde no?" tumawa siya ulit. "3 months going 4 na kami. Ayoko talagang idate siya at first but I seem to be attracted to him so why not give it a  try. Okay, walang courtship process. I think that is famous in the Philippines pero dito people date because they like each other."

Napangiti ako sa sinabi ni Pauline. "So you like Clyde?"

"Yes maybe more than like. Alam mo iniisip ko minsan if anong masamang nangyari kay Clyde back in the Philippines and why he doesn't want to tell me anything about his past. Pero you know what? I don't really want to know din. Ayoko kasi I like the Clyde now. He said na he is different back then. Too different that I will not like him."

"Looks like you are very happy with him."

"Hmmm, minsan I am not." tumawa na naman si Pauline "Especially when he is acting this way. He is not telling me his problems. Pero alam mo when I have a problem, he is always there giving me a helping hand. So maybe sooner of later diba, makikilala ko siya. By the way, hanggang kelan ka dito sa Singapore?"

"Flight ko na mamaya. I just need to talk to him before I go" humina ang boses ko kasi ayoko na tanungin ako ni Pauline kung bakit ako nandito. 

"Boys secret no? Dont worry, I will not ask." Nawala ang saya sa boses ni Pauline. "Siguro nagtataka ka sa set-up namin ni Clyde. Alam ko hindi halata if we were together because we like or even love each other. But I know, I love him" ngumiti sa akin si Pauline at nakita ko sa mga mata niya na naluluha siya.
