Rory's Pov:

I was excited I had finally told Lorelai, and for the date with Tristian tonight.

She was going to help me get ready, but first a Luke's run.

We were going to get lunch, and then prepare for the date.

"My little Rory all grown up," Lorelai teases, pinching my cheeks.

"Leave me alone," I complain, swatting at her hands.

Luke comes over, and puts our cheeseburgers down on our table.

"Rory has got a date tonight," Lorelai sings.

"Really?," Luke asks.

"Yes unfortunately I shared this with blabber mouth over here," I say grumpily, shoving a fry in my mouth.

"Oh you know you love me," Lorelai smiles.

I roll my eyes, and Luke leaves.

I devour my cheeseburger, but Lorelai kind of picks at hers.

"What's wrong?," I ask, noticing her lack of appetite.

"Nothing I'm just not that hungry," Lorelai says, shrugging her shoulders.

I think she was bummed I was going out with someone, and she didn't.

Part of me felt guilty, but maybe I could find Lorelai a man.

That might help.

"Time for us to get you ready for Tristian," Lorelai says, making kissey faces.

"Let's go," I say rolling my eyes sassily, at her childish behavior.

"Bye Luke," Lorelai says, and waves.

I walk alongside Lorelai, until we get home.

"Time to get dolled up for Tristian," Lorelai says excitedly.

"Okay sounds good." "Just please don't go overboard," I beg.

"No promises," Lorelai says wickedly.

Was it sad to say I was scared for Lorelai to do my makeup?

Because I was.

I was also scared, to go out with Tristian.

What if it doesn't go well?

What if I do or say something stupid?

Stop worrying Rory you'll be fine.

Lorelai primps me, most of the afternoon.

When I looked in the mirror later, I looked fabulous.

"Thanks so much Mom," I say happily, hugging her.

"No problem kid," Lorelai says smiling.

I paced back and forth the rest of the afternoon, until it was almost time for Tristian to pick me up.

"Stop pacing your'e creating a draft," Lorelai snickers.

"Great that you find this so funny," I say nervously.

"You'll be fine," Lorelai reassures me.

"Easy for you to say," I mumble.

"Dating is hard but you'll get there," Lorelai says wisely.

"Thanks," I say, feeling a little better.

It was getting closer and closer to the time.

I bit my nails, but stopped immediately.

Then the doorbell rang.

I rushed to it, but it was only Sookie St. James, Lorelai's best friend.

"Hey Sooki," I say smiling.

"Hey Rory," Sooki smiles, and is carrying a huge cake in her hands.

Maybe he isn't coming.

I keep thinking the worst.

Then the doorbell rings again, and this time it is Tristian.

He looks handsome in his sweater, and his eyes are shining brightly.

Then Lorelai butts through.

"Lorelai Gilmore mom," Lorelai says smirking.

"Nice to meet you." "We better get going," Tristian says smiling nervously.

"Have her home by ten," Lorelai commands, and smiles back at me.

I make a face at her, and take Tristian's hand in mine.

I get into the passenger seat, and Tristian smiles once again at me.

We stare nervously at each other for a couple seconds, until Tristian starts the car.

"You look beautiful," Tristian compliments me.

I blush.

This was going to be a perfect night.
