Chapter 12

I was walking out of seventh period and I heard someone call my name. "Abii!" I turned and saw Natasha and Gabi walking over to me. "What's up?" "What are you doing tonight?" Natasha asked. "Sam and I are going on a date." "You guys are so cute." Gabi says. I smiled and blushed a little. "We need to hang out tomorrow so you can tell us all about it. Promise." Gabi added. "Yeah of course. I promise." I said and we pinky promised. "And of course we are going to your house to help you get ready for your date." Natasha said. I started laughing and said "Ok I'll see you guys at my house." And they nodded and said bye. I walked to my car and drove home.

I pulled into my driveway and Natasha and Gabi pulled in a minute later. We all walked in and my mom saw us. "Hey girls." "Hey Mrs. Hernandez!" Natasha said. "What are you girls up to?" "We are going to help Abi get ready for her date tonight." Gabi said and I got prepared for the questions from my mom. "Abi who are you going on a date with?" "Sam." "I thought you guys were only friends." "We are. Well I have to go get ready, come on guys." I said and we walked upstairs. "Was I not suppose to tell her?" Gabi asked. "It's ok she was gonna find out some how." I said and added, "I'm gonna go take a shower, I'll be back." "Ok and while you do that we will pick out an outfit for you" Natasha said and I nodded. I went to the bathroom and took a shower and washed my hair. I put on sweats and a sports bra and walked back to my room. "What did you guys pick?" I asked. "This." Natasha said and pointed to the clothes on my bed. It was a light pink shirt, a black skirt that had floral prints, and light pink heels. "That's cute!" I said. "Ok let's do you hair." Gabi said and started blow drying my hair.

Sam was going to be here soon and I was done getting ready. Natasha did my makeup, it wasn't that much more than I usually wear which was good because I don't like too much makeup. And Gabi did my hair. She blow dried and curled it. We were all sitting on my bed when the door bell rang. "That must be Sam." I said. "Thank you for helping me." I said and smiled. "No problem, I'll see you tomorrow! Have fun!" Gabi said and I hugged them both and walked downstairs. My mom had already answered the door. "Hey Sam." I said and gave him a hug. "Bye mom. I love you." "Bye sweetie I love you too." She said and Sam and I walked to his car. "You look beautiful." Sam said and gave me a kiss. "Thank you, handsome." He opened the passenger door for me, "Thank you" I say and he runs around to the drivers seat and begins to drive. We got to a nice restaurant but not too fancy.

"I'm going to go the restroom" Sam says getting up and walking to the bathroom. He came back, "Let's go" he says and we get up and walk out. "Wanna go to the park?" Sam says and I nod. We walked down the street to the park. We walked around for a while until I heard a big boom and fireworks? It's the middle of August? I looked up and written in the sky is 'Will you be my girlfriend' I looked at Sam and saw him with a rose at hand. "Yes!" I say and he hugs me. We pulled away and kissed. We laid on the grass and looked at the stars. It was quiet but not a awkward silence, a comfortable quiet. I turned my head and saw Sam staring at me. "Babe why are you staring at me?" I ask and he smiles. "Because you just made me the luckiest man in the world" he says. I puckered my lips and he leaned in a kissed me. "Sammy, we should get going. We have school tomorrow" I say between kisses, he pulled away "Ok let's go." "Help me up" I say holding up my hands once Sam was up. He grabbed my hands and I jumped up. "Thank you" I say and kiss his cheek. Sam parked his car in his driveway and walked me to my house with our hands locked. "Thank you for today Sam" I say turning around as we reach the door. "Your welcome princess. I'll see you tomorrow, love you" he says and pecks my lips "Love you too" I say before walking inside. "You look happy" my mom says as I walk inside. "Yea" I say walking into the kitchen where my mom was. "Want to tell me why?" she asks. "Well... SAM ASKED ME OUT!" I say excitedly. "Really, I'm so happy for you sweetie. How was your date" "Amazing! We went to the park after dinner and their were fireworks" "Aww that's so cute. Well you should get off to bed sweetie goodnight I love you" she says and kisses my cheek. "I love you too" I say and go upstairs. I walked into my bathroom, took off my make-up then put on my pajamas and jumped onto my bed. I checked my phone
