"Thank you so much for taking your time and coming over."

"Dad, why are you thanking me? I am your daughter; it is my responsibility to help you guys." I took out the heavy box from the car and carried it inside their house. My parents were renovating their house and had called me to help them.

"It's just that you've grown up. My little girl is an adult now." Dad sighed. "And you probably might not have time for us."

"Aww, daddy. Don't cry. I always have plenty of time for you guys. You two are my first priority." Keeping the box on the floor, I hugged my dad.

"So did you learn Portuguese yet?" Mom asked and my head shook. Both of them looked a bit worried.

"But you are a sports teacher! You should learn it. Your dad and I have learnt it."

Dad laughed slightly and then my phone started to ring. My hand reached for the phone inside my pocket and the name on the screen made my eyes pop out.

"Hello?" I answered the phone call.

"Hey, where are you?"

"Why do you wanna know?"

"Just answer me..."

"I am somewhere. I'm sort of busy..."

"But where?"

Mom and dad looked at me with the huge grins on their faces.

"I'm with my parents."

"Tell me the address; I'll come by after an hour or two."

I covered my phone with my hand and looked at mom. "Is it okay if I invite someone over here?"

As a reply, she nodded. I told him the address and soon he hung up the phone.

"Who is he?" Mom asked. She was full of excitement. My gaze turned towards dad who was as excited as her.

"A friend."

"Name?" Both of them said together.

"David."

"David what?" They said it in a unison again.

"Mom, dad. Please, calm down. It's just a friend."

"Come on. You've been single for too long. Isn't it time for you to move on?"

I simply ignored the question and walked inside the house. For the next two hours, we three were busy putting the pictures on the newly painted wall of the living room. These pictures brought back the old memories of my childhood. I decided to take a break and go out of the house for some fresh air. My eyes stared at the blue sky and I let out a sigh of relief. Life had been great. I had wonderful parents and an amazing job. There was nothing more I could possibly ask for.

There was a screech of a car which brought me back to reality. In front of my eyes was the familiar Lamborghini from which got out David.

"Hello." He smiled.

"Hi." I replied. "Come in, we were waiting for you."

"What do you mean by 'we'?" His eyebrows slowly raised.

"You'll see." I walked towards the entrance.

He followed me inside the house. "Mom, Dad, David is here!"

Both of them left what they were doing and rushed to us. But their eyes were widened once they saw David.

"That's the football player-" Mom was almost about to scream. She was into football and she loved it. "That's David Luiz!"

He smiled and scratched behind his neck which indicated that he was nervous. He looked cute when he was nervous.

"Nice to meet you." He mumbled.

"Oh, right. Where are our manners. It was an honor to meet you David. Please, stay here for lunch." Dad shook David's hand.

David looked at me and my face just pulled on a smile.

"Sure. That would be great." He answered.

We had a roast beef with mashed potato and an apple pie for lunch. It was a decent meal but we surely enjoyed it.

"I haven't eaten anything like this since a few weeks." I took a sip of water.

"And I haven't eaten anything like this since ages!" said David as he finished the glass of wine. "Thank you so much for an amazing meal."

But he was still a bit uncomfortable. He was fidgeting and moving his leg continuously, his smirk was a nervous one and he would barely make any eye contact with my parents when they asked him something.

"David, are you alright?" I asked him, putting my hand on his shoulder.

"Yeah."

"Let's go out for a walk." My idea made him somewhat calm. He stood up and we both walked out. He let out a long breath.

"What is wrong with you? Why were you so nervous?" I punched him lightly on his arm.

"I wasn't nervous. It's just that I didn't want your parents to think that I'm arrogant or too proud of myself."

"Relax, they've got a lot of other things to worry about. So why did you call me?"

"Oh right! I wanted to talk to you. Like not on a phone, but face to face. Can you tell me how to impress a girl?"

I burst into laughter. He actually wanted my help in something like that.

"But you're rich, David. You're a football star and you're good looking! Why would you want to impress a girl?"

"I want her to like me. Not my money, not my fame, not my looks, but who I actually am. How about you pretend to be my girlfriend for a day?"

The smile faded from my face. "Just pretend right?"

"Yeah, I won't do anything bad. I promise, I'm not a bad guy." Once again, he sounded as if he was stating the obvious.

"Alright." I smiled.

"Okay then, come and cheer for me tomorrow, girlfriend." He giggled.

"Sure boyfriend" I laughed.
