The pressure of being a bride was the toughest. Everyone was looking forward to this perfect day but the feeling of fear was trapped inside of me.

Just while ago, David was my fiancé but today, he was going to more than that. I closed my eyes and looked down to remember that memorable day when he proposed me at the stadium. It was exactly two years ago.

The door opened and the makeup artist entered the room. She was followed by my mom and David's mom. Apparently, our mothers had become good friends during the two past years which made me happy.

David's mom had a conversation with the makeup artist in Portuguese while my mom was giving me tips which seemed useless to me.

"Everything will be alright." She said at last with a smile on her face and I gave her a nod.

As soon as David's mom and my mom left, Neymar entered the room.

"Neymar!" I said cheerfully as I looked over at him.

"Hey." He came forward and brought out an envelope from his pocket. "This is from David."

Without any hesitation, I hurriedly opened the envelope and took out the piece of paper. It said that he wanted to meet me. "Where is David?"

"He's waiting outside the room." Neymar had a smirk stuck on his face as he left the room.

I excused the makeup artist and dashed out of the room but my arm was caught by someone and he pulled me into another room.

"Meu amor, eu estive esperando por você. (My love, I've been waiting for you.)" He whispered into my ear.

"Eu também. (Me too.)" I replied in Portuguese and he chuckled. The truth was that I had been taking Portuguese classes since a few months now as I was afraid that the vows that I'd have to take for the wedding would be in Portuguese.

He touched my stomach with one hand and his brown eyes sparkled. "How is my baby doing?"

Ah yes, now that he mentioned it, I was carrying another life inside of me. So much had happened during the last two years and now this little life inside of me was about to bring more joy to our family.

"He's okay, I hope he won't try to kick when I walk down the aisle." My smile was a shy one and David didn't hesitate to pull me closer to him.

"I love you." Whenever he said those words, they always gave me courage and confidence.

"What about the baby?" I whispered.

"I love the baby too." He chuckled before lending me a kiss on my cheek. "Now go and get ready! I can't wait anymore."

The dress was long and it was hard to walk in the heels. I was never keen to wear heels but my mom had forced me to wear them. The makeup artist had done her job and she left the room. I wore the two-tier veil on top of my head and looked at myself one more time in the mirror. I was ready.

I waited for the moment when my mom would call me. But instead, the door was opened by my father.

"Hi sweetie." He smiled and held out his arms. I stood up and rushed towards him to hug him tightly. I could feel his wet teardrops falling on my bare shoulders which gave me a slight shiver.

"Dad?" I said silently. "Are you crying?"

"Happy tears." He sobbed gently. "You have grown up so much. You're getting married. And in a few months, I'm going to be a grandfather."

His voice had touched my heart and made me emotional. "Don't cry, you're gonna make me cry too."

He slowly pulled back and wiped off his tears. "I've come to get you. It's time." He handed me a small bouquet of flowers.

With a smile on my face, I took it and put my arm around his then we walked out of the room. We reached our car and the driver drove us to the church which was very near. He opened the door and I got out of the car with my dad.

"Are you nervous?" He asked and I answered him with a nod. But he reassured me. "You can do it. You're very bold."

As we walked into the church, the music stopped and all heads turned to face me causing me to hold onto my dad's arm and the bouquet of flowers even more tightly. The whole scenario was giving me shivers as the bridal chorus started to play but when I looked at the man who was eagerly waiting for me at the altar, my worries went away. My dad held my arm tightly as if he was trying to control his emotions.

Down the isle we walked and everyone looked at me with a smile. There were some familiar faces too, like Neymar, Oscar and Thiago Silva.

My dad finally stopped when we reached bottom step and he gave me that one last look which again made me emotional. David brought out his hand for me and I held it then slowly made my way upwards.

Dad took a seat next to mom and the music faded. The clergyman stepped up to the microphone and the ring-bearer followed him.

"To have and hold from this day forward for better or for worse, for richer or poorer, in sickness and in health to love and to cherish as long as we both shall live." Hand in hand, we said this in a unison. David smiled cheerfully causing me to blush.

"Areesh, do you take this man to be your lawfully wedded husband?" The priest asked.

With a nod I said "I do."

"David, do you take this lady to be your lawfully wedded wife?" The priest looked at David this time.

"Yes, I do." He answered.

The priest closed the book with a smile. "I now announce you as husband and wife."

Everyone clapped and I couldn't believe it. David picked me up in his arms in a bridal style and kissed me gently. He pulled back and carried me down the altar then made his way out of the church.

"Wait." I gasped, remembering something very important. "Put me down." He did it and without facing the people behind me, I threw the bouquet to them and then turned around to see who caught it.

Neymar's sister, Rafaella had caught the bouquet and she laughed with joy as Neymar mocked her in Portuguese.

"Sorry we couldn't give you guys a proper reception." David apologised. "But we have to hurry and leave. We've got a flight to catch." He opened the door of the car for me and I got in. He himself came and sat beside me on the driver's seat.

We heard the people cheer as David drove off the car. He sighed with relief. "Finally. We're married."

David drove the car in such a fast speed that I let out a gasp and he chuckled. But his eyes weren't on the road. Our car crashed into a truck and it flipped so many times that David had become disoriented.

My body jerked to the dashboard, my forehead colliding with the window. Steam rose from the back, the smell too intense for words. The windows were smashed and I could feel everything blur around me. Then everything turned black. I lost conscious.
