"Alright class, today we will visit the Maracanã Stadium."

Everyone cheered with joy.

I was a sports teacher in the Rio International School and I was teaching the fourth graders how to play football. Even though I knew how to play football, I never really followed it or watched it on the T.V.

Living in Brazil was the best thing ever but learning the national language, Portuguese, could be a bit tough. When I was 18, my parents decided to move to Brazil and I had to come with them. I fell in love with the country and it was hard to leave it.

It's been 3 years since I've been living here. I'm used to the people, the environment and my job.

"Miss Areesh, will we be able to play football over there?" Nathan, a young cheeky student asked.

"Yes Nathan. And guess what? We'll be having a match together! It'll be all 12 of you versus me!"

"Lets get going then!" They shouted in a unison.

The children made a straight line and walked out into the bus.

I was ready to follow them but I felt as if someone was coming towards me from behind.

"Miss Areesh."

I turned around to see who called my name. It was the head of the school, Mrs. Josephine.

"Yes Mrs. Josephine?" A smile formed on my face.

"Take care of the little ones. I've allowed you to take them to the Maracanã Stadium because I trust you. Please do not disappoint me." She said in her Portuguese accent.

"Do not worry Mrs. Josephine! The children are in good hands. I will be beside them all the time" I gave her a reassuring smile.

The journey on the bus was an interesting one. The kids sang Portuguese songs and told me the translations. They impersonated some of their favorite football stars and asked me their names but I failed to name most of them. Sadly, it was a very short journey.

"Okay guys get off the bus. Be very careful and do not push each other."

All of them got down off the bus safely and it was my turn to go out of the bus. I leaded all of them to the front gate of the stadium where a huge Brazilian guard stopped us.

"Você não pode entrar aqui." He spoke Portuguese which confused me.

"Miss, he says we can't enter." Alice translated.

"Tell him we are from the Rio International School and we came to practice in the stadium. We have the permission." I folded my arms across my chest.

She translated what I had told her and the guard let us in.

As we entered the huge stadium, our jaws were dropped. The school football ground was nothing compared to this one. There were seats for probably a million people. The ground was so green and clean, unlike the dirty ground from school.

We kept walking until we came in the center.

"Miss! Look!" Nathan pointed at the gate.

My gaze turned towards the gate from which many Brazilian football stars entered the stadium.

Neymar, Thiago Silva, Willian, Oscar, David Luiz and all the others...

The girls started to scream and jump. The boys were pretty excited too. While I was gobsmacked.

The football stars saw us and started waving. We got more excited. But rules were rules...

"Guys, if you behave, I will take you to meet all of them."

All the kids diverted their attention towards me. "Really?"

My head nodded. "Now lets begin the game."

We took out the ball from our sports bag and kept the bag on a bench.

"Alright, Alvin, you are the captain, why don't you start?" I threw the ball towards him.

Alvin nodded and caught the ball. He put it on the ground and kicked it with full force. It was a brilliant kick. "You are improving kiddo!"

We kept playing for almost half an hour. The sound of claps interrupted our game. "Who's clapping?" My eyes turned to see Neymar, David Luiz and Thiago Silva who were applauding just behind me! They were so close...

"Continuem jogando! vocês são bons." Neymar shouted.

"He says we should continue playing! We are going good!" Alice translated again.

"Alice you should be my personal translator beca-" I couldn't complete my sentence because I lost my balance. The ball slipped from my foot, making me fall down. I shut my eyes, praying to God that I wouldn't have any serious injuries when I landed on ground.

But it didn't hurt at all. It felt like if I landed on something else. Probably someones arms...

I opened one of my eye to see the curly haired guy that I had seen so many times on the TV and internet. It was no other than...

David Luiz

"Você está bem?" His voice... I'd never heard him speak before.

"What?" I mumbled, completely hypnotised by him.

"Inglês? Are you alright?" He translated.

"Yeah. I'm alright. Thank you." I was lost in his eyes.

But he just smiled. "You know you are safe now..."

Right! I was still in his arms... I quickly stood up straight and straightened my jacket.

Neymar started to clap as he came towards us. "Isso foi fantástico, David." He patted David on the his back.

"Ela fala Inglês." David replied.

"Ohh... You already know each other that much?" Neymar smirked.

"No. David just saved me. I might have got a broken foot or a leg if he didn't catch me on time. Thank you Luiz."

"Just David." He smiled

All the kids crowded around. They asked Neymar and David for pictures and autographs so I left them there and put the ball back into the sports bag.

I felt lucky. David Luiz just saved me and I couldn't believe it!
