Harry's POV:

"I have indeed decided, after much thought, that I will allow Draco to fight for this war." I clicked my fingers along the wood panels on the arm rest of the chair I was lounging in. McGonagall's brow rose a fair bit before settling in their original position, her hands clasped together on the desk.

"And you've made this decision because?" She trailed off, leaving room for me to answer. I've made this decision because I can't leave Draco there by himself. Because his father has died. Because he needs me.

"Because Draco requested to be by my side in the last moments of the battle and who was I to deny him of that?" Perplexed, I hilted my fingers under my chin and looked McGonagall in the eye. "So he will be with me and I have every intention of keeping him safe."

"That's a good decision, Harry. And please do keep him safe. I would hate to have to lose him as well. He is a good student with a bright future ahead of him." And out comes the wise words. Any words are wise words coming from McGonagall.

"Yes, well, I would too. Among other things, I would like to discuss the safety of Hogwarts and it's students in whatever happens in the next few... Weeks." Would the war be that far away, or would it be closer? Perpetuated, I stood up and paced the room. I had so many questions, yet I didn't know how to voice them. And probably half of them didn't even have an answer.

"Ah, that's something else I've been meaning to discuss with you. Since you're in charge here, what do you think we should do. I've already told all the teachers about it and to prepare. We need some ground, Harry." Professor McGonagall moved back a bit in her chair to pull open a desk drawer. Out of it, she pulled a quill and two pieces of parchment.

From what I could see, one piece of parchment already had writing on it. "What's that, professor?" I strode to her desk and tapped a finger on the piece of parchment filled with writing. At a closer look, I could see that there was also several small sketched pictures next to some of the paragraphs.

"This is an old scripted parchment. Albus had it in his possession for years and I never thought about it until now. Harry, the parchment contains some very important information. I'm going to give it to you to look over now." McGonagall handed me the parchment and I gripped it in both hands, seeing symbols, sketches and chicken scratch writing all over the page.

"Ok, I'll give it a quick study tonight. Does Draco need to look over it or should I leave it at that?" I ran a hand through my hair in a stressed notion. This was really getting to me. What a royal pain in the butt.

"Yes, I suppose he should. That would be a good idea, actually." McGonagall scribbled something in neat cursive before laying down her quill and clasping her hands, looking up at me. "Aside form that, I need grounds on the war, we need to discuss safety of the school and students, and I need instructions." Her voice thoughtfully spoken, and guiltily silenced.

After a few minutes of silence, she laid her head in her hands, elbows propped on the desk. I watched slowly as her shoulders shook and came to the realisation that she was crying.

Crying.

Snapping out of my trance, I dropped the parchment I was holding onto the desk and steadily walked around to McGonagall's chair. Gently, I pulled her up by her shoulders and into my chest. It felt natural to return her comfort, after all, she had been my teacher and head of house for six years.

Professor's body shook slightly as she cried into my chest. I patted her back soothingly, just standing there and hugging her.

I could remember all the times she had given me detention or chastised me for something. And it was out of her own time that she did some things for me because she cared. And having known my mother and father, she'd taken me under her wing. She, along with Dumbledore, were always there for me. Though, I turned to the professor in my arms for most things.
