Fear vs Friendship

I know I shouldn't think this way but I can't help it. I'm so confused that my head is starting to hurt. I'm not sure if I can keep up all the fake smiles.

I. Abi. I have been so happy recently but then everything was taken from me. My friend named Ruby has been the greatest. She is the most amazing person. I don't even deserve to know her. I want to be the best for her but I'm scared if I get close that I may accidentally hurt her and that's the last thing I want to do.

But now that I'm pushing her away she is upset with me. Why must I mess up everything I love.

I love her but know she's mad.

I go through life making everyone else happy and at peace. I let my "good energy" effect other people. In reality I don't know what I'm doing. I'm broken. But weighing others down with my problems seems selfish so I stay "happy"

*knock knock*

"Come in" I say

My amazing friend, Ian, walked in.

"Hey Abi!" Ian said

"Oh, hey!" Abi said trying to forget everything she had just thought. She put a fake smile on

"Why are you sitting alone in your room?"

"Just thinking"

"About?"

"I'm just contemplating life"

"Hahaha okay, Jack was looking for you."

"Oh, yeah I haven't talked to him much today."

"Abi, what's going on?"

"Oh nothing, I just am in a bit of drama with Ruby."

"Why?" Ian asked

"Just something stupid."

"You sure? I'll get Taylor."

"Hahaha no, I'm really fine."

"Okay, see ya around." He got up and headed to the door

"I love you." Abi said

"I love you too." Ian said with a small genuine smile

Abi thought once more.

Should I say something.

No, nobody needs to worry about me.

Ian walked in again. "Hey Abi, I can tell you're a little off. Come and hang out with us."

Abi got up and walked with Ian.

Maybe true friends can help without knowing it.

Enjoy, sorry it's a bit of a depressing chapter they'll be funnier/happier next time

Have you ever had these thoughts? If so, I'm here to listen.
