As Michael walked into Pizza Max, his best friend Ostin randomly said "I think my soulmate is hot." (Hot. see what I did there! 😂 Never Mind I'm just lame.)
"How do you figure?" Michael asked curiously stepping into the line of people.
"Well my birthmark is a flame and I'm not that good looking so I figure it has to be her who is." He said
"You're crazy, you're birthmark has nothing to do with they way the people look." Michael said shaking his head
"Did you hear Jack met his soulmate. That new girl Abi. He was showing her around when he saw it on her upper arm." Ostin said
"How do you know the details?"
"I hear things."
Just then three girls walked in. A chinese girl, the new girl Abi and the first sophomore captain of the cheerleading team, Taylor Ridley. If Michael is being honest he has a crush on Taylor but he is almost 100% sure their birthmarks don't match. He once saw it in their freshman year and it was completely different.
"Watch this." Said Otin smoothly to Michael
Ostin turned around and started blabbing to the Asian girl.
"Hi! I'm Ostin, I like tests and food." Ostin said sticking his hand out.
"Way to be smooth." Michael whispered to Ostin
The girl took his hand, smiled and said "Hi! I'm McKenna. I like those things too."
Michael stood there awkwardly because he knew Abi had a soulmate whom just walked in and started talking to. And he didn't want to embarrass himself in front of Taylor.
"Hi Michael." Taylor said
This shocked Michael. "She knows my name?" He thought
"H-hi Taylor." He said wanting drop dead right there
"Wow!" Ostin screamed
Both Michael and Taylor turned quickly.
McKenna showed her ankle and Ostin showed his left shoulder. Identical marks.
"No way!" Taylor said happy for McKenna
"Cool, buddy." Michael said
Ostin then treated McKenna to a pizza.
"Well it looks like our friends left us. Want to share a pizza?" Taylor asked kindly
Michael couldn't speak and he started ticking. He nodded.
They sat in a booth and started talking while their food was being prepared.
"So, tell me about yourself." Taylor said
"Umm, I have Tourettes, my dad died when I was eight and I don't really have any friends but Ostin." Michael said not really sure what to say.
"Well I'm your friend, sorry about your dad." Taylor said genuinely
"Thanks, why don't you tell me about you?" He said
"I'm captain of the cheerleading team, I'm adopted and I love horses."
"Cool."
Michael noticed on her arm where he saw her birthmark before. It wasn't there.
"Michael?" Taylor said
"Huh? Oh sorry. I know this is a weird question but don't you have a birthmark on your arm?" Michael asked
"Uh, no. It is here." she pulled her collar of her top to the side. It looked like his.
"I thought in freshman year you had one on your arm.
"To be honest I drew one on to look like my boyfriend's." She said embarrassed
Michael just stared at her.
"What is it?" Taylor asked fixing her top
Michael stood up pulling his shirt up to show the same mark on his side.
They both stared at each other.
"Wow." They said in unison
I thought y'all might want a one-shot to get you through Monday.
