Christmas

Dan hated Christmas. He didn't just dislike Christmas, all because of what happened years ago with his family has now ruined an entire holiday, but that's another story.

Every December, Dan would feel himself getting sad or upset. He refused to put up a Christmas tree, he snapped at anyone sang a carol near his shared apartment, and he never, ever bought anybody any presents.

On December 18th, Dan had to go to the shopping center to buy a giant tree for the first time in forever. When he got there, there were so many shoppers pushing everyone around and so much Christmas music blaring loudly, he thought his ears would explode.

Finally, he was done. Just outside the door was a nice man collecting for charity. Dan never gave to charity, so he started to walk past without a word.

Suddenly, the nice man dropped his bells and ran onto the road. There was an adorable dog right in the path of an oncoming truck. But the nice man slipped and fell, so now they were both in danger!

Dan rushed out and carefully pushed them both out of the way. There was a slim bang and then everything went dark.

When Dan woke up, he was in a dimly lit room. There was a Christmas tree in the corner and soft carols were playing. Also, Dan's head hurt...A lot.

The nice man came into the room.
"You're awake. My name is Phil, Phil Lester. You saved me from the truck. But your head is cut a little." Phil said

Dan hardly knew what to say. Even though there was a Christmas tree up and his head was cut, he felt quite warm, especially when he looked at Phil.

"Your head must hurt love." Phil said. "I think this will help." And then put a cold cloth on the cut.

Now Dan felt very happy indeed. He didn't hate Christmas at all now. In fact, he loved it. And he loved Phil. "I love you," he said, and kissed Phil Lester lovingly.

"I love you too," said Phil. Just then, the dog ran into the room and nuzzled Dan's hair. "I brought him home with us," Phil said Laughing.

"We'll call him Miracle," Dan Howell said. "Our Christmas Miracle."

It was the best Christmas ever.
