"Anything you need to tell me you can say in front of both of us." Sapphire snapped at Jasper, surprising her. In all her years with working for the Blue family she had only ever seen Sapphire's shy side. Jasper didn't even know Sapphire was capable of showing emotion like this, albeit very little was shown.
"It's important." Jasper murmured back, almost snapping at the shorter girl.
"Then Ruby should also hear."
"Fine."
They were all waiting for Jasper to say something, but she didn't utter a single word.
"What is it?" Sapphire asked.
"Never mind. We can talk later."
And, with that, Jasper got up and walked back to Lapis, who was swimming, and swam with her.
Ruby looked at Sapphire and began.
"Why didn't you just go talk to her alone?"
Sapphire sighed and spoke.
"Because she's an awful person who blackmails people into doing things for her that they don't want to do. She blackmailed me once and I had to do all of her work for three years because of it, so I was basically a maid while in my own house. She isn't right for Lapis, and they will end horribly, it's not a matter of if, it's a matter of when. When that happens I want to make sure to have enough space between Jasper and I so that, once they break, I never have to be around her ever again. Ruby, she's horrible, so stay away from her."
Throughout the entire time they were together, Ruby had never heard Sapphire speak of someone as negatively as she spoke of Jasper. In all honesty, she liked seeing her this way. Angry Sapphy is not a good thing, but damn is she passionate. Her voice completely changes, attitude comes through more, her cheeks redden, and there's a hint of sass. Ruby would be lying if she said she completely disapproved of this.

The rest of the day flew by, Ruby and Sapphire being happy as usual, and Jasper and Lapis being a mix of happy and I-Hate-You-So-Damn-Much. Once the sun set they parted ways and planned to meet at a local restaurant once they were all ready.
"Remember Sapphire, it's a fancy place, so dress you finest." Lapis reminded her.
Sapphire nodded, and Ruby's heart sank. The fanciest clothes she had with her at the moment were a pair black of shorts and a short-sleeve button-up.

'Well this should be fun.' Ruby thought to herself.
