Tears Across My Face

Haiku by Cresilyn M. Gonzales,

Tears across my face

Tastes like pain, sadness, and grief

Eyes closed, it's you there.

From the author:

This haiku poem that I made symbolizes the pain that was felt, the sadness from within, and the grieving soul. The tears also symbolizes how these feelings and emotions affect someone, that whenever she will close her eyes, its still him that she can see. And when she feels like this, it tastes melancholia. Its not literally what we could taste, but that's how it feels like.

When we taste foods, it melts in our tongue and we absorb it. Just like the emotions that was stated here in the poem, the pain lingers to her.

The effect of this words to the audience/readers could be also the pain, but not how the pain that was felt by the one who wrote this haiku poem. They might feel how the writer grieved, and how she would surpass this.
