Coffee & Calling Smiles Around a Place
Figurative poem by Ferlie Beth M. Belano

I stood by the window after the sun touches my face,

I peeked and saw it smiling at me.

I drunk my cup of coffee as it was calling me,

I smiled when I heard the wind singing around the place.

From the author:

This poem beautifully captures the quintessential morning routine of an ordinary individual. At the break of dawn, we daydream about the gentle caress of the sun's warm rays on our face, a radiant reminder that a new day has dawned. Peering through the window, we yearn to bask fully in the sun's embrace, as if it were smiling down upon us, signaling the arrival of another day.

Following this intimate encounter with sunlight, the ritual of preparing and savoring a cup of coffee unfolds, as if the steaming elixir beckons us for a comforting sip. Moreover, the ambient melody of the wind outside adds an enchanting note to the morning, akin to a song that elevates our mood with its pleasing cadence. In these ordinary yet profound moments, the mundane transforms into a poetic symphony, weaving the fabric of a serene and delightful morning routine.
