Robin's pov

The phone rang again. Steve looks at me. "It's most likely her, you've gotta pick it up, Ted won't know" Steve said

"Yeah I know.." I said still staring at the phone. I've thought of what max, El and Steve told me. It's not Nancy's fault so she doesn't deserve to be ingored.

I hesitated before picking up the phone but eventually I did. "Hello?" I asked. Maybe it was for work purposes who knows. "Robin! Hey you finally picked up!" Nancy said surprised.

I didn't say anything. "Yeah.. I know I'm sorry" I said. "Look-um I know we're both at work, could we please hang out later, we need to talk" Nancy said.

My heart skipped a beat thinking she would break up with me. "Uh where?" I asked. "At the cafe? The one we usually go to?" she asked. "Uh yeah sure" I said not so excitedly.

I was scared of Ted catching us to be honest. The last thing I want is Nancy to get hurt.. I was mostly worried about Nancy, not me. Ted isn't abusive but he could hit her if he wanted to

"alright so at 5 pm?" Nancy asked. "Yeah" I said. "great.. See you!" she said. "See you nance" I said. Steve was looking at me the entire time. "Why were you that cold?!" Steve said. "I don't know! I'm scared, I don't want Ted to do anything!" I said

"He won't know!" Steve said. "Yeah you expect him not to be suspicious when Nancy says she'll go out after work? With who" I said. He didn't say anything.

"Ugh I can't do this anymore! Why can't I be straight! Be a man who can marry women without any problems" I said quietly. Steve walked towards me and hugged me. I hugged back.

"you've been a little too cuddly lately" I said giggling. Steve and I aren't really physical touch friends but we love each other. "Cause you need it" Steve said, my heart melted. I couldn't help but smile

"thanks dingus" I said chuckling slightly. He pulled away and rolled his eyes playfully. Someone cleared their throat making us pull away from the hut quickly.

It was a random customer. We didn't even hear the door opening. "Sorry to interrupt you two love birds but I would like to find a movie please" a woman said

Steve and I looked at each other. "We're not together-" we both said in sync. "Yeah okay" the woman said. Steve went to help the lady.

*meanwhile*

Nancy's pov

Robin agreed to hang out with me to talk. She seemed off. Is she mad at me? My heart only broke by the thought. I didn't want to hurt Robin..

Was it because of my dad? I will ask her today, hopefully I figure out why she was ignoring me. Once I got home I knocked on Mike's bedroom door. School was over so I knew he was at home unless he was hanging out with his friends or something

There was no answer so I walked in. Mike wasn't in his room. I decided to check the basement. He was indeed there. With all of his friends. Lucas, Dustin, will, max and el. The boys were playing dnd as the girls were sitting on the couch talking

Everyone stared at me once I got in. "what do you want?" Mike asked. "I need a favor" I told him. "Come here for a second" I said. He groaned. "I can't! We're playing-" Mike said. "I don't care
Michael!" I said sternly. He rolled his eyes and stood up.

He followed me upstairs. "What is it?" he asked. "I'm gonna go to a cafe with Robin at 5, can you cover me up?" I asked.

"Are you crazy? Dad is gonna kill you!" Mike said. "That's why he can't know! You'll tell our parents that I'm with Jonathan" I said. "and you believe he'll buy it? After what happened" he said.
