Saving Riley

Riley's POV

It's been a month, a month since I left, a month since I escaped but also a month that I've spent every single second worrying about him coming here. 
"What are the plans for today?" Michelle asked on the phone
"I have a class to teach at 12 then I'm done" I replied
"Look at you Miss Riley" She chimed making me laugh
Working back at The Next Step has been a dream come true, I get to do something I love in the place I fell in love with it
I couldn't have asked for anything better
"How are you settling in?" She asked and I shrugged
"I'm good, it's been an adjustment but I'm living" I replied
"Yeah I hear James is drawn to you once again" She replied making my roll my eyes
James has helped me out a lot, it's been hard at times juggling everything but knowing he is just down the hall at Lost & Found has helped a ton. I just don't want to drag him down when this all comes crashing too
"It's not like that" I replied 
"Why not Riles? You both still clearly care about each other" She pestered
"Yes Michelle and must I warn you what I'm currently on the run from? You and Emily are the only people who know" I replied 
"Riley, you know you could tell him" She whispered
I won't lie, I had thought about it. But I couldn't bring myself to do it, it was too much.. I know exactly how James would feel, he would want to head straight to Lucas and do something we both know he would regret in the long time
James isn't a violent person, we all know that.. But mess with someone he loves and cares for and you are asking for trouble 

I walk into the studio to see A-Troupe rehearsing while Miss Kate say in her office
"Hey trouble!" she smiled as I walked in, I chuckled handing her the envelope with the forms and money from some of parents of the class I had just finished
"Awesome! You're free for the day now, any nice plans?" she asked and I shrugged
"I think I'll be meeting Michelle later. Might pop to Lost and Found and see the boys" I replied making her smile
"The boys means jamesss" She teased making me roll my eyes 
"Not you too" I replied making her laugh as I continued to walk out 

I walked into Lost and Found only for people to instantly inform me James and the band are in the recording studio again
It's like people just know I'm here to see them or something
As I walk in I can hear them playing something, it wasn't a song I had heard before. I smiled sitting down on the sofa before they noticed I was there
"Maybe I'll crash into you, maybe we will open these wounds. We're only alive if we bruise, so I lay down this armour" Luke sings, those lyrics were incredible. They must be a reason behind them that is for sure
"I will surrender tonight, before we both lose this fight. Take my defences, all my defences, I lay down this armour..." Luke continued to sing, this much be a new song they are working on. I can tell that this song will be a huge hit when it comes out
"I lay down this armour... I lay down this armour for you, I lay down this armour for you" The entire band sung before the song came to and end
That was amazing, I stood up pressing the microphone to talk to them
"That sounded amazing" I said making all four boys turn to look at me with wide eyes
"Riley! Hi!" Theo chimed clearly trying to distract me. I'm assuming now that I was not meant to hear this song
"Hi" I replied as Luke opened the door to let me into the booth
"That song was great" I replied, I looked at James who looked a little panicked before John began to speak
"How much did you hear?" He asked
"not a lot, I think maybe the last chorus and the ending" I said making all four boys sigh in relief 
"Who wrote it?" I asked looking around at the boys, their gazes shifted around but mainly landing on James
"It was a group effort" he suggested but I'm sure that isn't the case
These boys are hiding something and they aren't doing a good job about it

James' POV 

As soon as we got Riley to go and meet Michelle, I turned to the boys in a panic. She was not meant to hear that song, not yet, if not at all
"Man calm down" Theo said trying to stop the panic but he wasn't going to be able to do that
"She wasn't meant to hear it" I groaned
"James, it's a great song and she loved what she heard" Luke reminded me
"Yes but it wasn't ready" I replied
"James she doesn't know you wrote it or that it is about her, stop panicking" John replied but it was no use
"We both know that something will always pull you two back to each other and this song proves that. When it is ready for her to completely hear, she'll love it even more" Luke said and I sighed
Was I overreacting over nothing? God I hope not

Band practice went on for a little longer, we worked on some other songs, our old stuff so when the time comes we can preform at a drop of a hat
"I remember all the times we would head to TNS so we could perform for A-Troupe!" Luke reminisced
"Yeah it was incredible" I replied with a smile. I loved watching TNS mould with Lost & Found. My two favourite places together a one
"Shall we head out now?" John suggested and we all nodded happy with how the practice went
These boys truly helped me discover my love for music and I don't know what I would have done without them
"Look!" Luke said pointing to the main stage
Up on the stage stood some of the new Lost & Found students. The talent on here kept on growing even when we were mere little students, times changed something but it certainly hasn't changed Mr T's love for helping us grow as musicians 
"Who's that?" Theo said motioning to a guy stood by the door
I looked at the guy and he looked familiar from somewhere but I just can't quite place it
"Yo dude, you alright?" I asked grabbing his attention, he looked at me and nodded
"Yeah I'm just looking for someone but I don't think she is here" He muttered looking a little annoyed
"Who are you looking for? We pretty much know the entire building" Luke joked
"My Fiancé, Riley?" He said making us either raise our eyebrows or widen our eyes. That was Lucas.. The Lucas
