grayson's pov.
3 months later.
I looked at myself in the mirror, smoothing out my graduation gown with a small smile. I was finally graduating, and I was beyond excited.
I continued looking at myself in the mirror, the one thought that had been on my mind for the past 3 months, still lingering there. If only evelyn were here to see me graduate. she'd be so proud.
" she wanted to be here, gray.. i'm sorry she couldn't be " Ethan suddenly appeared beside me, a sympathetic smile on his face as he patted my back.
I nodded, sniffling a little as I gulped, blinking away the tears. don't cry, damnit.
" i know, thanks ethan " I told my brother, looking at the reflection of the two of us in the mirror, stood beside one another.
I never thought that the two of us would actually be here together, as brothers, and not enemies. We didn't hate eachother anymore, or at least we didn't act as if we did, like we used to. I loved my brother, he loved me, and I was happy to be graduating with him by my side as my bestfriend. that's how it should be.
" let's go, mom's waiting in the car " ethan smiled at me, leaving the room to head down the stairs.
I took a deep breath, running a hand through my hair with rosy cheeks. just imagine how proud she'd be, grayson.
evelyn's pov.
I ran through the hallway of the familiar high school, memories flooding my mind as I rushed past my locker. I could just remember Grayson stood there, waiting to drive me home like he did almost every single night.
My heart was thumping harder than ever as I continued running, not caring how crazy I looked. I was running late, and catching a last minute flight from Arizona to New Jersey, then having it be delayed a few hours, wasn't planned.
I looked down at my phone to see that I had a few text messages, and I opened them quickly.
thank god i'm leaving this shit hole,
might miss it a little though. jokes.

I smiled as I read Grayson's texts, my converse squeaking against the tiled floor as I opened my other texts, this time, from Ethan.
are you nearly here?

I shoved my phone into my back pocket and gulped as I reached the auditorium, where the ceremony was being held. My heart was beating excessively hard, and my throat was dry out of nervousness. I hadn't seen Grayson in three months, and I felt the urge to cry at the thought of being in his arms once again.
I'd missed him insane amounts.
I took a deep breath, pushing open the door, as it squeaked loudly. Everyone sat in the audience, and in the room turned towards me, silence taking over as I hurried towards an empty seat, and sat down.
My eyes scanned my ex classmates in desperate need of spotting him, all of them looking at me in shock, and surprise. Nobody expected me to be here, except Ethan, of course.
However, when they met with the familiar pair of beautiful, hazel eyes, my heart skipped a beat. His lips were parted in pure shock, and his eyes were glistening, a smile forming on my lips at the sight of him, for the first time in months.
He grinned when he saw me watching him, his smile the largest, and most content i'd ever seen. I bit my lip to prevent myself from crying out of happiness, as the principal spoke up.
" grayson dolan " he said into the microphone, as everyone in the auditorium clapped their hands, cheering my boyfriend on as he excitedly made his way up to the podium.
I, however, jumped to my feet, whistling and shouting his name proudly, as he looked at me, flashing me the most award winning smile.
He shook hands with the principal, collecting his things before heading towards the other seats, and sitting down beside one of his friends, brad. he'd made it, he'd officially graduated.
" ethan dolan " the principal spoke up again, the crowd erupting into another round of applause.
I rose to my feet again, clapping for the boy, and calling his name happily. No matter what we'd been through, or what he'd done, he would always be my bestfriend. No one could ever live up to that role like he did.
Ethan gave me a smile as he sat beside his brother with his things, the ceremony continuing on, though the grin never left both Grayson and I's faces. The two of us just wanted the principal to shut up, so we could finally be in one another's arms, after months of waiting.
I watched Aimee and Laura accept their awards, both of them nearly in tears at the sight of me in the audience, something which made my heart swarm. As much as i'd missed Grayson, it would be a lie to say i hadn't missed my bestfriends a lot, too.
Our principal's speech finally came to an end, as music began playing, and members of the audience jumped up from their seats to congratulate family, and friends.
I stood up nervously, smoothing out my dress as I looked at Grayson, half visible through the crowd. I felt my hands grow shaky as I slowly
made my way through the large group, stopping dead in my tracks when I made eye contact with the boy I loved, once again. I felt my smile grow even wider as Grayson shook his head in disbelief, shoving his way through everyone in his way, as he rushed towards me.
I didn't care who looked, I found myself running. I ran so fast until I was finally in his embrace, my arms draping over his shoulders as my legs wrapped around his waist. I let out a cry of happiness as the wave of relief washed over me, and the familiar scent of grayson's cologne engulfed me.
Grayson held me, his arms wrapping around my body as he span me around, his face nuzzled into the crook of my neck. The feeling of him being so close to me was one i'd missed more than anything, and I couldn't believe we were finally here together, all over again.
" i missed you so much, baby " Grayson said, barely above a whisper, as he pulled away from the hug.
He kept holding me, though, staring up into my eyes intently, with pink cheeks, and a large smile.
I couldn't even respond before he'd leant forward, pressing his lips against my own. The familiar feeling which had been distant for so long erupted throughout my body, a rush of fire, and electricity running through my veins.
" i'm so proud of you, you know that, right? " I told him when I pulled away, and he placed me back down onto the ground.
Grayson kept his hands on my waist as he smiled down at me, shaking his head.
" i'm proud of you, too. you've graduated as well, eve " Grayson smirked as he removed his graduation cap, and placed it onto my head.
I laughed as he did so, modelling it jokingly with a grin. That only made him smile more, as I turned to the side, Lisa and Ethan watching us in amazement.
I couldn't help myself. I hugged the lovely woman, happy to see her again. Grayson watched as I hugged Ethan, thanking him for helping me set up the little surprise.
" you knew about this? you little shit! " Grayson yelled playfully as he punched the side of his brothers arm with a laugh.
Ethan smirked, ruffling up Grayson's hair to annoy him more, as Lisa and I watched. Something as simple as this, was what i missed. The two brothers were close again, and I was beyond happy.
" i can't believe you're here " Grayson let out a breath as he intertwined our fingers, the two of us walking out of the school together, for one last time.
" me neither. you don't know how difficult it's been without you " I smiled up at him, kissing the back of his hand, making his cheeks turn rosy.
Grayson swayed our hands slightly as we walked down the road, both smiling silently. He'd told me that he wanted to take me for a celebration smoothie, at the same diner where we had our first real date, after having the best time swimming in the small lake.
It was silent, though it was a comfortable silence. All I did was reminisce as I looked back at the high school, so many horrible memories, but also so many great ones. We had officially finished high school, and I had no clue where I wanted to go for college. Grayson had submitted a few applications to various different ones, though his dream, was to study in Cali. He was just waiting for a response.
" evelyn? " When Grayson said my name I hummed, looking up at him with a smile.
Grayson bit his lip nervously, running his fingers through his hair with his free hand.
" we just finished high school... so it's a fresh start, right? " Grayson asked me, the hope obvious in his eyes.
I raised an eyebrow, smiling a little at his words, as I nodded my head.
" yeah, i guess so. why? "
Grayson let out a shaky breath, his eyes meeting with mine, and sticking like glue.
" then how would you like to start fresh, as my girlfriend? " The words left Grayson's mouth perfectly, my heart skipping a beat.
I would already class the boy as my boyfriend, but hearing him ask officially, made my heart jolt in excitement, and a large grin form on my face.
I couldn't wait to start fresh with Grayson, as boyfriend and girlfriend. I wanted to stay in jersey, and now, that's what I plan to do.
Because with Grayson by my side, anything would be perfect.
" i'd love to be your girlfriend,
