Queen Isabella
I smiled as Greer placed the flower crown in my hair before fluffy my hair out.
"There. Now you are presentable for this English court." Greer said making me smile.
"They do things very different than then we do in our courts," I said earning her to chuckle before a knock came to my door and I turned to see Mary.
"You look lovely my friend," I said with a soft smile before she bowed to me.
"My father would like for me to escort you down. We have our Danish Ambassador ready to introduce you." Mary said and I nodded as I stood up.
"Well let us not keep your father waiting," I said with a soft smile before she began leading me to the ballroom.
When we got to the door Mary walked in first to notify her father and the ambassador that I was here. I heard the trumpets before the doors opened.
"Hendes Majestæts, Dronning Isabella af Danmark og Norge." (Her Majesty, Queen Isabella of Denmark and Norway)The Ambassador said as I walked towards Henry's throne.
When I reached Henry's throne I dipped into a bow before I stood up.
"Your Majesty," I said with a slight smile on my face.
"Your Highness." He said before he offered me his hand and helped me up the steps to sit in the throne beside him. As soon as I sat down he turned and faced the crowd.
"It is with great pleasure that I may introduce to all of you Queen Isabella of Denmark and Norway. While her highness is here she shall be treated the same as you all treat me." He said and everyone stared at him before six-year-old Elizabeth stood up.
"Gud behvare dronningen." ( God save the Queen)Elizabeth said making me smile before everyone repeated.
"Now with that, let the feast begin!" Henry bellowed and soon the music came to life and everyone began to speak. A plate of food was brought over to me and I nodded my thanks to the maid before I began eating.
"Elizabeth I didn't know you could speak my language," I said and the young girl looked up at me and smiled.
"I had Greer teach me God save the Queen today. I've been practicing. Did it sound good?" She questioned and I smiled before patting the young girl's shoulder.
"You said it perfect," I confessed before I handed my plate over to the maid before I stood up.
"Bella?" Mary questioned and I turned to her.
"Do you remember my dance?" I questioned as the English music changed to the Danish music.
"Of course I do. Mother made sure I learn it." She said before the Danish Ambassador walked towards me.
"Your Majesty. May I have this dance?" He said and I nodded before grabbing his hand as he brought me onto the dance floor. I saw Mary and a Lord behind us. Ambassador Emil held me at arm's length before the music began and we started side stepping to one another.
When he pulled me into his arms I smiled before I was dipped. Being brought back up I was spun around earning everyone to cheer.
"It has been so long since I have seen you, your majesty," Emil said.
"Before my mother was killed, her dying wish was to send you here to control the king so he wouldn't want to take me as a bride very young." I whispered as we spun near Mary.
"You have heard what he has done. When I heard you were coming to court I swore your mother rolled in her grave." He said and I tried to fight a laugh.
"Mother will be alright. I am a big girl. I rule two countries." I said before I was dipped again and the song ended.
"Your Majesty I have requested a meeting with you tomorrow at noon. We will discuss this there." Emil said before he bowed and turned away.
"What was that about?" Mary asked as she linked her arm with mine.
"That was Emil. He was my mother's most trusted advisor. When she died I was only four. He raised me until I was ten and then he came here to England." I said before she guided me back to my throne.
"Wine?" Henry asked and I smiled before taking the cup.
"Thank you. How did you find out that white wine was my favorite wine?" I questioned as I sat down beside him and sipped.
"Well, I know Emil for over fourteen years. You learn a lot from someone." He said and I felt myself smiling before I watched a man walk over.
"Your Majesties." He said as he bowed.
"Isabella, allow me to introduce you to one of my closest friends. Charles Brandon, Duke of Suffolk." Henry said as Charles moved towards me.
"My lord," I said and he dipped into a bow.
"It is my pleasure to meet you, Your Highness. I visited your court while your mother ruled." He said and I found myself smiling.
"May God rest her soul," I said before I took a big gulp of my wine. I watched as Henry stared at me for a moment before turning his attention towards Charles.
"Queen Isabella?" A voice asked and I turned my head to see Elizabeth and Edward standing beside my throne.
"Edward, my grace, shouldn't you be preparing for bed?" I asked as I felt Henry beside me.
"I forgot to say goodnight. He can never sleep without me saying goodnight." Henry said with a smile. I stood up from my throne and picked up Edward earning everyone to stop talking.
"Would you like me to put you to bed?" I whispered as Edward nodded as he leaned his head against my chest.
"Alright then. Come Elizabeth. I believe it's time for you as well." I said and she frowned before grabbing my hand.
"Goodnight father," Elizabeth said as she bowed before walking to the doors.
"Must you go soon?" Henry asked as I placed Edward on my hip.
"It seems your children would like me to. But I keep my promise on saving a dance for you. Goodnight Henry." I said before I bowed. I turned and began walking out the door.
"Will she be the next queen?"
"Hopefully she doesn't have the same fate as the last two."
"Or of Queen Katherine."
I quickly picked up my pace to find Mary holding Elizabeth.
"Show me their quarters," I said with a smile.
We arrived at Edwards first. He still had a small crib fit for his age. I laid him down and found him staring at me.
"Goodnight my grace," I said as I pressed a kiss to his forehead. He smiled before his small snores filled the air. I turned to his nanny who bowed.
"If he wakes up and cannot be calmed bring him to me," I said and she nodded before Mary began leading me to Elizabeth's quarters. It was smaller than Edwards and I frowned before helping the young girl change into her nightgown and Mary helped her climb into her bed.
"Goodnight." She whispered before falling asleep.
"Goodnight darling," I said with a soft smile on my face before I quickly shoved Mary out of her room.
When we were in the quarters we turned towards each other and grinned.
"Sleepover?" She questioned and I nodded before I took off running towards my suit. I arrived the first and ripped the crown off my head.
I was changing into my nightgown when Mary walked in changed. We climbed into my bed and I smiled.
"I feel like I'm six again," I said and she laughed.
"As do I."
~King Henry VII~
"Charles," I called as everyone began to leave.
"Yes your majesty." He said and I found myself smiling.
"Tell me do you know if any other kings have offered Isabella marriage?" I questioned as we began walking to my chambers.
"Nothing of my knowledge. Why? I thought you weren't ready to marry?" He questioned and I stopped before smiling.
"Jane gave me the son I needed. But as my father always said you need a spare." I confessed and Charles smiled.
"I overheard from people who I will not name." Charles began and I grabbed his arm.
"Enough babbling. What did you hear?!" I demanded and he stared at me for a moment.
"She won't agree to marriage until your daughter Mary gives her blessing. Also, she will never marry a man who will take mistresses when she is pregnant. She is known for trust." Charles confessed and I stared at him.
"How long is she here for?"
"Only for a month sire. Her purpose for the visit was to see your daughter, Lady Mary."
"How does she know Mary again?" I said as I turned and changed the direction to my office.
"Your first wife, the princess dowager, was her godmother. Katherine was in charge of her living until you divorced her." Charles explained and I smiled.
"Then she became Queen."
"A very popular one. The King of Norway has no heirs. He handed it over to Isabella." Charles explained and I nodded before waving my hand.
"Go. We will discuss this later on." I said and Charles bowed before leaving.
I had one month to convice Isabella how I cared for her and to get Mary's blessing. How will I do so?
