ethan grew frustrated as he pulled at the roots of his hair, "ethan," you said softly as you began to rub his back. "what's wrong baby?" you asked as you rested your chin on his shoulder from behind. you knew where he was mentally was not a suitable place for him, he wanted to be happy.
"i'm miserable," he mumbled and you nodded. "all i want is to be happy," he said and you looked down thinking of ways to comfort him. he groaned, "ah shit, that doesn't mean you don't make me happy," he tried to cover up his last response.
you shook your head, "no of course not," you said understandingly. "not everyone is happy eth, some days you have to be sad. you can't expect to be happy all the time and it's unhealthy for you to act like you are," you said and he looked at you. "i know i make you happy in some ways, believe me. you can't be happy all time baby," you said kissing his cheek.
"thank you for understanding," he said and you nodded mumbling an 'of course' as you continued to rub his back calmly. "i love you and i don't know what i did to deserve you but i promise, i'm never letting you go," he said and you smiled pulling him in for a kiss.
grayson:
your eyebrows furrowed as you heard a loud bang from your's and grayson's shared room. you opened the bedroom door calling for him softly, your face softened as you watched him cry on the floor. "gray!" you said as you quickly walked over to him, embracing him as he sobbed in your arms.
"i-i," he stuttered, "i can't - i need to be honest," he tried rephrasing it and you shushed him as you played with his hair softly. your back was pressed against your bed as he cried, his head resting on your breasts.
"it's okay baby," you whispered as he continued to cry. "you just wanted to believe you were happy when you weren't. many people do it gray, i do sometimes. you have me here, your family, your fans," you said trying to comfort him. "you're not alone baby," you said as he stayed silent and cried.
you were in that position for an hour before he had fallen asleep. you bit the inside of your lip as continued to play with his hair, wondering how you could help him. you woke grayson up so you could move him to the bed, "i love you" he mumbled as he laid on top of you.
you smiled, "i love you too gray, i'm here for you," you said as he fell back asleep.
