Michael:
Being on tour with the guys for an entire month was an amazing experience. You got to see places you never had before, try new foods, meet new people, and do it all with your favorite four dorks. Your brother, Luke, Calum, Ashton, and you had a grand old time, and made memories that you'd never forget. Unfortunately, since you were there for an entire month, Mother Nature got to claim a week. And what a week it was.
It all started when you went to the bathroom. You'd think that a person would be safe in one of those. That bathrooms could be seen as off-limits to attacks and sudden upsets. But when you tried to pee and saw that you had started your period, you felt betrayed.
It was clear that the bathroom was no sanctuary. Luckily there was a contingency plan for this, also known as Crystal being better prepared than you. Since she had been visiting your brother, and her boyfriend, on the tour before you got there she made sure to leave the bus bathroom stocked with what you'd need. Thank God for that because you had totally not thought about periods when you had last-minute packed literally hours before your trip.
So, although you were unhappy, you were able to leave the bathroom physically unscathed but emotionally wounded. You knew that everything would go ugly fast. You were always super emotional on your period, you could cry over literally anything. Michael more or less knew, but he was likely unprepared for how much worse it would be while stuck in a confined space with four, fully grown, males.
The first thing you did was change into some comfy clothes. You were kinda bloated, but you hadn't really noticed until the sigh of relief when you wriggled off your unusually tight jeans and pulled on some comfy leggings. You also wore fluffy socks and a baggy t-shirt. You tied your hair back and when you were done you looked like a proper bum.
When you finally left the bathroom you saw Luke stand up and sprint in behind you.
"I NEED TO PEEEEEEE!" He announced, still continuing to stretch out the final vowel well after the door was shut and his voice was muffled.
"WE ALL KNOW!" Calum yelled from his bunk, "SOME OF US DON'T CARE ABOUT YOUR URINATION SCHEDULE AND JUST WANT TO SLEEP!"
You raised your eyebrows and Luke went quiet. Really though, he should've known better than to interrupt Calum's afternoon nap. Everyone knew that Calum got super cranky when people made too much noise when he was trying to sleep.
"Sorry," Luke's voice drifted through the door, this time at a much more reasonable volume.
You just quietly giggled and walked to the back of the bus. In there you saw Ashton scrolling through his Instagram on his phone, and Michael playing some first person shooter alien killing game on his PS4.
"Hi guys," you yawned. Calum being tired made you tired for whatever reason.
"Hi Y/N," they both said at the same time using the same monotone voice.
You shifted on your feet at the door, did you want to go sit by Michael and risk being freaked out by the mildly disturbing game, or by Ashton and see what he's up to?
As if he could see the dilemma in your mind, the drummer looked up and smiled at you. He then patted the seat on the couch next to you, signaling you to join him.
You did so, walking in and setting yourself down. You tried to avoid looking at Michael's aliens, you knew that watching their animated guts get splattered all over the walls would only serve to upset you. So you cuddled into Ashton instead.
"Hi Y/N," he giggled and wrapped his arms around you so that you could look at what he was looking at on his Instagram.
He was mostly looking at fan art at that time. Pictures of him, Michael, Calum, Luke, and their girlfriends.
"I like that one," you said as he scrolled past a picture of your brother.
"Yeah?" He paused for a moment so that the two of you could both admire the picture.
It was of Michael, sticking out his tongue as usual. Back when he actually left his piercings in. His hair was bright red and you thought that it was incredibly life-like.
"Mhmmmm," you reaffirmed.
So Ashton liked the picture and then kept scrolling. You raised your eyebrows. Such a causal gesture to him, but you were sure it would knock the socks off of the artist.
"That ones cute," you said as you scrolled to one of Calum and Luke sitting next to each other and playing FIFA on a big TV screen.
"It is, but considering that the artist's name is Cakeisthebest I think I'd get in trouble for liking it," he giggled.
You shrugged, "maybe you would maybe you wouldn't, just say that you didn't see the user and then you have plausible deniability," you grinned.
Ashton's finger hovered over the little heart button for a few seconds. He winced and pressed down, as soon as it turned red he furiously scrolled down and the two of you dissolved into more giggles.
"Okay for the record it's funny when you do it to Calum and Luke but not when you do it to me," Michael said, "no making anyone think that Malum or Muke is real."
"Aye aye!" You chirped just as Ashton scrolled past a Muke drawing.
It was a good one, and since Michael had specifically forbade you, you couldn't help it, you double tapped it and a little heart appeared.
"Y/N!" Ashton hissed. He sounded angry, but the look on his face told you he was amused.
"Shhhhh," you said, scrolling down more.
After more scrolling the two of you came up to a Malum drawing that was rather NSFW. Before you could react, Ashton liked it. He was probably desensitized, but you were surprised that he did it. You glanced up at him and he put a finger to his lips.
You nodded and it became a game. Whoever liked the Muke or Malum drawing first wins. The two of you probably got through two-dozen pictures before you accidentally liked a Mashton.
It wasn't on purpose, all you saw was the back of two heads, one of which being blue. You just kind of assumed that the other head was Luke, it wasn't until Ashton made an upset noise that you realized it wasn't.
"Y/N!" He chastised you, "that was ME and Michael!"
"WHAT WAS WHO AND MICHAEL?" Your brother tried to butt into the conversation. He was of course, ignored.
You knew that Ashton was really only mildly irritated at worst, but in your hormone-addled state, you took his words too seriously. You sniffled and blinked back some tears in your eyes.
"I'm sorry Ashton," you slipped out from under his arm.
"Y/N?!" Your curly-haired friend tried to reach out and grab you again, obviously unsure as to why you were leaving, "I'm not angry with you."
"I know," you said shakily, "I just can't help it!"
This got Michael's attention, he whirled around and looked at you funny. When he saw you in distress he glared at Ashton, "what did you DO to her?" He exploded. That was too much anger. You couldn't handle all of the negative emotion. You fled the back of the bus and moved up to the front.
You went past the still-closed bunk of Calum, and up to where you figured Luke would be. Sure enough, he was sitting in the little booth where all of the bus meals were eaten, while chowing down on some veggies and jamming out to whatever music was blasting through his earphones.
Since he wasn't paying any attention to his surroundings, and could not hear you approach, it was a big surprise for the poor blonde when you slid into the booth next to him.
The baby carrot that he had been lip syncing to, was thrown across the room when he cushion dipped down.
When he calmed, and saw that it was just you, he put a hand over his heart and jokingly wagged his finger at you.
"You scared me," he shook his head as he bit down on a baby tomato.
"Sorry Lukey," you giggled, taking a pepper out of the little container for yourself.
He raised his eyebrows at the nickname but didn't say anything. You used to call him Lukey when the two of you were younger, but now it was just reserved for when you were upset. He studied your face while devouring some broccoli, probably taking note of your red eyes and the puffy dried tear-tracks.
"Everything okay?" He finally asked.
You didn't look at him, but nodded, "I'm good."
He looked unsure of your answer, but moved on nonetheless.
"Earbud?" He offered you one of his.
"Sure," you smiled and put it in your left ear, while Luke had the other one in his right ear.
"-I KNOW I SOUND CRAZY. DON'T YOU SEE WHAT YOU DO TO ME?" All Time Low was pumped straight into your skull with the loud vibrations of the earbuds. Luke always listened to his music loudly, which was fine unless you were trying to talk to him and he just screamed, "WHAT?!" Over and over again.
Luckily, it wasn't one of those times. Luke, having seen that you were upset, decided to cheer you up instead.
"I WANNA BE YOUR LOST BOY YOUR LAST CHANCE!" He sang loudly. Then he paused and pointed at you.
You laughed and sang the next line, "A BETTER REALITY!"
"YEAH," you both screamed simultaneously.
This continued through all of Somewhere In Neverland, She Looks So Perfect, What Makes You Beautiful, and Guys My Age. Watching Luke sing and dance in his seat to the last one was probably one of the more entertaining things you've ever seen.
But then Amnesia came on. Luke hummed along to the opening chords while grabbing another carrot to eat. Since he was preoccupied, he didn't see the corners of your lips turn down, or your eyes start to fill. The uncontrollable urge to cry at just they first line of the song began to surface. Normally you could handle Amnesia, but during your time of the month, you usually avoided it for that very reason.
You slipped the earbud out and it hit the table with a soft thud. Luke heard it and turned his head, but you were already out of your chair.
"Y/N?" He called out, confused.
"I'm tired Luke," you tried to say in a tone that didn't make you sound like you were crying. It didn't work.
"LUKE!" Michael yelled from the back room, "YOU TOO?! STOP MAKING Y/N CRY!"
Michael's angry voice didn't help, and you found yourself stranded between the back room and the front of the bus, essentially standing in the middle of the rows of bunks.
Then two tattooed arms shot out of one of the bottom bunks and grabbed you by the waist.
"EEK!" You screeched before you realized that it was just Calum. He tugged you closer to the bunk, clearly wanting you to climb in.
"I thought you were asleep," you whispered as you pulled back the curtain further.
Calum's face was neutral, "I was trying to be."
"Oh," you bit down on your lip, feeling bad for being a part of those who kept him up.
"It's not your fault," he said quickly, "c'mere."
He moved backward so that there was enough room for you to climb in and lay down.
Reaching over you, Calum pulled the curtain closed and then wrapped the same arm around your waist to pull you back closer to him.
"You want to tell me why Michael keeps on yelling at people for making you cry?" He asked softly.
The dark, warm, space make you relax. You hadn't realized how tense and upset you were until your muscles unknotted and your mind became less hazed.
"Because I keep on crying over small things," you whispered back.
"And why is that?" He hummed.
"Hormones," was your reply.
Calum seemed to get it as he didn't push you any further.
"Well there isn't anything remotely upsetting in my bunk, so you're welcome to take a nap with me," he tiredly offered.
You could go for a nap, you were at the very least, emotionally exhausted.
"Mkay," you yawned, making yourself comfortable.
Just as the two of you started to drift off, Michael yelled again.
"WHERE DID Y/N GO?!"
