two weeks later; beacon hills high school library

Mason, Liam and I sit around a small table.

Liam watches something on his phone and finds it funny, so he calls Mason over to show it to him. Mason gets into the chair with Liam, the two boys sitting together as they watch the video and laugh. They put their feet up on the table as they get more comfortable.

The two are so entertained they don't notice me pulling out my camera from my bag. I focus on them, wanting to have this moment with me always. Right as I take the picture Liam looks up in my direction and smiles.

I smile back at him and then look down at the camera.

Perfect. This picture is perfect.

------------------

following day; stilinski household

My dads at work and Stiles is out with Scott.

I'm cleaning up my room. Organizing things.

Life is great at the moment, and I'm incredibly happy. I absentmindedly sing softly to myself as I go around the room, picking up things and placing them where they belong.

--------------------

liam dunbar

There's no one home, but I still climb up to Veronica's window. I guess I'm just used to it.

She's so caught up in what she's doing, she doesn't notice me at the windowsill. She sings as she moves around the room. Her voice is sweet, but strong. "I don't think I've ever heard you sing before." I say, amazed.

She drops everything in her hands. "Liam! Geez, you scared me."

"Sorry." I say with a small smile, walking over to her and helping her pick up the scattered items on the floor. "You have a beautiful voice. Why don't you sing more often?"

"I just don't like to." she says, not meeting my eyes.

We stand up and she places everything on her desk, taking the things from my hands.

"Why?" I ask.

"I just don't!" she snaps back. The harshness in her voice surprises me.

"I'm sorry." she says quickly.

"That's ok." I respond.

"No, it's not." she says and she runs her hand through her hair. "It's just hard to talk about it."

I reach out and take her hand. "You don't have to tell me if you don't want to." I say and she leans back on her desk.

She looks at me, then out the window, and then back to me. "My mom. She uh, she had the most beautiful voice." She says, trying to blink back the tears. "The only reason I know that is because of the home videos of her singing me and Stiles to sleep, not because I remember."

I nod, letting her know she has my full attention. I wipe a tear away as it rolls down her cheek.

"When I was younger, I would just sing. I'd sing all the time actually. I probably drove my dad and Stiles crazy." She says with light laughter and I smile at her. "One day my dad picked me up and sat me next to him. He told me 'you sound just like your mother when she sang.' So I told him I wanted to hear her sing and that's when he showed me the home videos. And he cried as we watched them together. Stiles wasn't home, he was out with Scott and Melissa." she continues as she wipes away her tears. I kiss her forehead, wishing I could take away her sadness, her grief. "And after that day I just stopped singing, because I realized how unfair it was."

"What's unfair?"

"That I have her voice, but I don't have her." she says as she breaks into a sob.

I pull her into a hug as she sobs into my chest. "I don't wanna just have her voice, I want to have her." she says.

"I know, I know." I say gently. "I'm so sorry." She wraps her arms around me tightly. I feel so helpless, so useless as I hug the girl I love knowing she has a broken heart and I can't do much about it. I hold her in my arms as she continues to cry. After a while I pull away from her so that I can look into her eyes. "Hey, you don't have to feel guilty when you sing. Her voice is a part of you. How she lives on through you. How she connects with you, even after she's gone. If it makes you happy to sing, then sing. She wants you to be happy." I wipe her tears away and she takes a deep breath.

She nods. "Thanks." She says with a trembling voice. "Thanks for being there for me."

"I'll always be here for you." I tell her.

We lay in her bed, cuddled close together and she falls asleep in my arms. It breaks my heart to see Veronica in pain. It's the thing I hate the most in this world, her pain. If I could shield her from it all, I would. So I'll do my best to always make her days better and brighter, making her happy. She deserves that and more.

God, I'm so in love with her.

two weeks later; beacon hills animal clinic

I help Scott clean up before the animal clinic closes for the night.

I'm carrying a tray with all sorts of instruments used to treat the animals. Somehow I trip over myself. I'm headed straight to the floor but Scott grabs my arm, keeping me from falling. "Thanks."

"Yeah." he says taking the tray from me and setting it down. "I'm starting to think you're almost as clumsy as Stiles."

I mock offense, gasping. "That is the biggest insult you could ever say to me." I tell him and we both laugh,
but my smile quickly fades away.

"What's wrong?" Scott asks.

"Nothing." I say, but Scott looks at me until I actually tell him what's on my mind. "I was just thinking how different things are gonna be when you're not around." He nods. "I'm really gonna miss you. I've seen you every single day for my entire life."

"Yeah, I'm going to miss you too. It's gonna be weird not having you around either." he says, making me smile. "But Beacon Hills still needs protecting. You, Liam, Mason, Corey. This town needs you. The people here need you."

I nod, knowing that the responsibility would fall on our shoulders once they left. "Well they need you too. I need you."

He smiles. "Well, I need to go to college. And I'll always be there for you. I'll be a phone call away."

"And you'll visit?"

"All the time. I can't go very long without seeing my little sister." he says and I smile at him as he pulls me into a hug. "Everything's gonna be okay." he says, kissing the top of my head.

"Okay." I say, as we squeeze each other tightly. "Are you going to let me work at your animal clinic once you become a veterinarian?"

"Absolutely." he says, pulling away. We smile at each other before going back to cleaning.

----------------

"Well, looks like we're just about done here." Deaton says as he walks in from the back.

Deaton locks up as we walk out together. "Veronica." he says, "I saw what you did for your brother at the game. You've come a long way and it hasn't been easy for you, but I'm proud of you."

I look at Deaton, who has been my mentor through all of this. "I couldn't have done it without you. I owe you a lot. For everything you've done for me. For us."

He nods. "It's been my pleasure."

We hug Deaton goodbye and he waves goodbye to us from his car as he exits the parking lot.

I sit behind Scott on his motorcycle, and we both put on our helmets. "I'm kind of hungry." Scott says.

"Yeah, me too."

"What should we get?"

We take a few seconds to think before we both answer. "Wings." we say in unison, and Scott starts up his bike.

--------------------

one week later; stilinski household

I'm sleeping in bed. Peacefully. When Stiles barges into my room and shakes me awake. "Wake up, wake up! It's your birthday!"

I groan and use a pillow to cover my face. "I know, and for my birthday present you could let me sleep. Thanks." I say, my voice muffled by the pillow.

He laughs. "Come on." he says, grabbing a pillow and using it to smack me.

"Stop it!" I say with laughter.

"Then get up!"

"Fine!" I say, taking my pillow and using it to smack him back.

Soon enough we're chasing each other around the room, laughing as we use the pillows to hit each other.

Our laughter stops when Stiles goes to hit me but I duck, and he knocks over my nightlight. It shatters when it hits the floor. We both bring a hand up to our mouth as we stare at the broken lamp.

"Hey, what's going on here?" my dad asks.

"Nothing." Stiles and I both say, standing in front of the broken lamp to try and hide it. We break into laughter once dad heads downstairs.

"Okay, well get ready. We're taking you out." Stiles says.

"Right now?"

"Yes, right now. Hurry up. And clean up this mess." he says, walking out of my room and closing the door behind him.

I roll my eyes at my brother and start walking towards the bathroom, when he opens the door and peeks his head through. "Oh and also, happy birthday." he says with a smile.

"Thanks." I say, smiling back at him.

He closes the door again, and goes to his room to get ready.

God, I love that goofball.

--------------------

"Well, here we are!" My dad says as we get out of the car. "You're favorite place for breakfast. Happy birthday, kiddo!" he says, putting an arm around my shoulder.

"Thanks." I say, hugging my dad.

"All right, lets go. I'm starving." Stiles says, and we head inside.

At our table, we find Melissa and Scott. I rush over to them.

"Surprise!" Scott says as we hug.

"Best surprise ever." I respond.

"Happy birthday, honey." Melissa says when she pulls me into a hug, and kisses my cheek.

Melissa and my dad sit across the table, and I sit in between Scott and Stiles. We eat our breakfast between laughter. And when we're done we walk out together,

but go our separate ways and I'm sad that we have to.

I wish we could just all go home together.

Dad stops by the gas station before we head home.

---------------

stilinski household

Dad pulls into the driveway and we get out of the car. Stiles rushes off inside and I wait for my dad by the door.

When I walk inside I'm greeted with "surprise!" by everyone gathered in the living room. Balloons, banners, and streamers decorate the room.

I smile at everyone there. Malia. Lydia. Kira. Mason. Corey. Liam. Becca. Celeste. Derek. Braeden. Parrish. Scott and Melissa. They were all in on it. That's why my dad stopped for gas, to give Melissa and Scott time to get here before we did.

We really love throwing surprise parties in Beacon Hills.

Stiles comes over to me and sprays me with silly string. "Had a can left." he says with a shrug and I playfully punch his shoulder.

"Thank you guys, this is amazing." I say with a big smile on my face.

I spend the rest of the day with my friends and family. We eat cake, take pictures, and I open the gifts they bought for me. We all laugh so much our sides hurt.

Then, one by one they begin to head home. I kiss and hug them all goodbye and thank them for everything. They all made it an incredibly special birthday .

Dad goes to the Sheriff's station after everyone is gone and Stiles heads up stairs to his room. I'm in the kitchen when there's a knock on the door.

I open it and am surprised to find him standing there. "Hi, Chris." I say. "Come on in."

Everyone calls him Argent, but I've always called him Chris.

He smiles and walks in. "Won't take up much of your time, just wanted to wish you a happy birthday."

"Thank you. I really appreciate it." I say, touched by the gesture of him driving all the way here to tell me that.

"I also wanted to give you this." he says and hands me a small, black box.

I look at him with some confusion, but open the box. I gasp when I see what's inside, and my eyes fill with tears.

It's one of Allison's arrowheads.

My shaky hand picks it up and I turn it over with my fingers, taking in all of the details.

I look up at him, not even knowing what to say. And even if I did know what to say, I have a feeling I wouldn't be able to get the words out, so he talks instead.

"She had left a couple behind. And I know how close you two were. She mentioned to me that once you were aware of the supernatural, she wanted to show you how she made her arrowheads." I nod, a tear spills from my eye and I quickly wipe it away. "Graduation is coming up, and she would've been graduating with your brother and everyone else. Going off to college." He shakes his head and clears his throat. "Anyways, she would've wanted you to have this. She loved you like a sister."

"I did too." I say, holding back my tears. "Thank you. This means more than you know."

He nods solemnly.

I hug Chris, and I can't imagine all the pain he's gone through and the pain he goes through as he lives his life without his daughter. And his wife. His sister and father having turned their backs on him.

He says goodbye and I thank him again as he walks out the door.

I sit on the couch and examine the arrowhead again, taking in every single detail of it.

Stiles is right. We'll always find a way back to each other. And Allison will too. Always.

Thanks for the present, Ally.

Hope you guys liked this chapter! It got kinda emotional at some parts though, didn't it? lol

And I know all of Allison's arrowheads were used in the show, but for the purpose of this story, lets pretend there were a few more she left behind and Chris had them.

See you in a couple of days with an update :)
