I'm curious: what font do you guys use in Wattpad? And do you page or scroll? I personally scroll, and my font of choice is arial.
Luke:
Everyone was worried about Luke. The 5sosfam, his family, his friends, pretty much everyone who knew how he normally acted.
He just seemed really really down. He wasn't ever on social media anymore, he didn't text or call home as much, he was less energetic on stage, and from what his friends told you he pretty much just laid around when he wasn't preforming.
That was not at all Luke-like. Your brother was funny and full of energy. He loved weird Snapchat filters and artsy Instagram posts. He liked to go out and try new things not lay around. Well apparently he laid around slept and sighed a lot. He didn't even wear his sparkly boots anymore.
You remembered how excited he was when he got those.
"Y/N! Y/N! I KNOW IT'S REALLY EARLY IN THE MORNING BUT LOOK!" Your brother had Skyped you at one am to show you how incredibly sparkly his boots were. He even shined a flashlight on them to simulate the 'lights of the stage'.
"That's really cool Luke, almost as cool as a good nights sleep," you yawned, trying not to drift off as he continued to admire his boots.
Who knew that you'd miss that. But it was getting to the point where you wanted him to call you in the middle of the night to say weird stuff. Or really just call you to have any kind of actual conversation. He hasn't initiated any contact with you in forever, just barely responding when you reached out to him. The last time you called him he would just give you quiet one word answers to all your questions.
"How's the tour going?" You asked on your last video call. You were really excited to talk to Luke but he didn't share the enthusiasm. He was in an insanely dark room, and you could only see his face as it was illuminated by the screen.
"Fine," he signed, leaning his chin on one of his palms.
"Are you having fun?" You prodded, hoping that he would engage you in actual conversation.
"Mhmmm," he hummed, tracing patterns in the wood of the table his laptop was sitting on.
"Do you feel okay?" You asked, now worried. You saw what everyone was freaking out about. Luke was quiet and unhappy.
"Peachy," he responded with as much enthusiasm as every other question. But you had a feeling that last answer was a flat out lie.
Since everyone was worried it was decided that everybody that cared about your brother would get together on one big online call, to decide what to do.
"Here!" Calum and Ashton were in a hotel room sharing a laptop.
"Here," Michael said quieter, on his phone, glancing over at your sleeping brother.
"I'm on," Jack joined.
"Hello," Ben tuned into the call.
You and Liz were also on it, sharing your laptop in the kitchen.
"Hey guys," you greeted everyone.
You were graced with a chorus of, 'Hi Y/N's.
"Let's get down to business," Liz sighed, "how bad is he?"
Michael was the first to speak, "he's in rough shape, he only eats one full meal a day and some light snacks, sleeps most of the time, isn't peppy like he used to be."
"I would say he just seems blue," Calum added.
"Like he misses home," Ashton agreed.
"Poor little dude," Ben said, "he's homesick."
"Well we just need to send him a piece of home then, something to cheer him up right?" Jack asked.
Ashton and Calum glanced at each other, "maybe," Calum sighed.
"Homesickness gets really super intense when you're gone for so long," Ashton bit down on his lip, "I'm not sure sending him an old poster or some homemade cookies will do it this time."
"If he's anything like me," Michael commented, "it's not so much the stuff that you miss, but the people and the physical place."
"Yeah," Cashton agreed, nodding their heads.
"Well we can't move the house to the tour bus," Liz chuckled.
"But someone could visit him," Ben suggested.
"That's what I would suggest," Ashton agreed.
"Who though?" Jack looked at each of you.
"Y/N," Liz said, "it's easiest if she goes."
"Me?" You squeaked out in surprise. You were worried about Luke and you wanted him to get better but you weren't sure you were the person to send.
"Yeah, he probably has fonder memories of you," Jack chuckled a little.
"Plus you don't have a job or anything else to do when you're off of school," Ben sighed fondly, "the good old days."
"It's settled then," Liz clapped her hands, "Y/N will go cheer Luke up."
"We'll surprise him!" Michael said happily.
"Not knowing will make it so much cooler when she finally shows up," Calum agreed. So nobody was telling Luke? You hoped that he liked the surprise then, because it would be pretty awkward if you showed up and he wasn't happy to see you still.
You were on the next flight to see your brother. You got little time to pack or mentally prepare really, but your Mum helped, and you tried to grab things that would cheer up your brother. His old stuffed penguin, and the quilt he used to always be curled up in both made their way into your bag.
Almost three hours after the decision was made to send you, management agreed and you were on a flight. It wasn't pleasant and you hated flying alone, but you would do anything for Luke, knowing that he would return the favor.
Many hours after that you were on the ground in the city of that nights concert, and since the boys were at soundcheck, driven by security to the venue. You were going to have to sleep on the bus that night and you were not overly enthusiastic about that either, but you again were willing to deal for Luke's sake.
You left your bags in the car to be taken back to the bus, while a security guard walked out to escort you inside the venue.
There were already fans and parents out and about even though the concert wasn't to start for many more hours. Some recognized you and waved a hello, others looked jealous that you could go in, but most ignored you completely.
When you walked in and down to where you could see the stage, you gasped at Luke's appearance. He was hunched over like something was pressing him down. He looked very very pale, and even from your distant vantage point you could see the dark purple smudges under his eyes. His hair was unkept, and his clothes rumpled. He just looked tired. His singing and guitar playing showed it as well.
"Luke?" You asked, walking up to the edge of the stage.
He stopped playing and furrowed his eyebrows, he moved slowly to look down at you, as if the movement caused him physical pain.
But when he saw your face his cracked lips pulled up into a grin, "Y/N?" He asked hoarsely.
"In the flesh," you replied, grinning up at him.
"So glad that you could join us," Calum wiggled his eyebrows at you, speaking into the microphone.
"ALRIGHT THAT'S ENOUGH FOR NOW!" Someone from backstage yelled.
All of the boys cheered and put their instruments down. Luke took his guitar off and started to head down to you, very slowly, like an old man.
"For goodness sakes," Ashton scooped him up and carried him, it was ridiculous how worn Luke looked.
You got up to the stage and followed the boys back around to their dressing room. Ashton set your limp brother down on the couch and you plopped down next to him.
"How are you Luke?" You asked, pulling him into a tight hug.
He compiled, embracing you as well.
"Better now that you're here," he sighed into your hair, "I missed you a lot."
"I missed you too Lukey," you giggled.
While you were hugging him you felt his stomach rumble, but when you pulled away he acted like it hadn't happened.
"So what do you want to do while you're here?" He asked, leaning back into the couch.
"Nope, nuh uh, you're not off the hook that easily Lucas," you embraced your inner Liz with the look you gave him.
He pouted and watched as you loaded up a plate with foods from the snack table in the room. You walked back over and handed it to your pouting brother.
"I'm not hungry Y/N," he whined, trying to set it down.
"Don't lie to me Luke, we both know you are," you pushed it back at him, taking some grapes for yourself to munch on.
He watched you eat with narrowed eyes.
You got an idea, you pulled a grape off of its stem and held it up, "open up," you asked Luke.
When he saw what you were doing he grinned and opened his mouth up wide.
You took aim and threw the grape. It hit his nose and then rolled down into his mouth. Wow, you actually got it!
"Nice shot!" He commented as he chewed on the grape.
After that it was like the bandaid had been ripped off and Luke started eating again. The two of you giggled and talked about your childhood adventures while eating fruit.
After recounting the time the two of you attempted to cut Bens hair in his sleep and gave him a massive baldspot, Luke stood up. He stretched and then looked down at you, "I'll be right back, I really need to pee."
So he walked off and into the bathroom which was presumably somewhere down the hall. You giggled some more as you continued to reminisce, until one of the boys cleared their throats.
"Wow Y/N, Luke already looks better than he has in a long time," Calum said, looking impressed.
"Yeah, when he saw you and smiled I was really surprised, it had been a while," Ashton nodded along.
"Plus he's actually eating something decent, that's a milestone," Michael hummed while unwrapping a cupcake. You snorted at him, and then got up as well. You took two water bottles from the mini-fridge, leaving one in Luke's seat.
"So how long did it take for all of Ben's hair to grow back?" Calum sounded interested in the story, maybe too much so. You hoped he wasn't getting any ideas.
"A while, I mean a few months probably, he refused to let Mum just shave everything off, so he still had a big patch of missing hair right here," you pointed to the spot, on the back top of your head.
Luke walked in silently while you were talking, when he saw the water in his spot he picked it up and started drinking.
When you turned around to look at him, you saw how much more color he had in his face, and that he just seemed happier after eating and hydrating.
"I'm pretty pumped for the show tonight," he admitted, "and Calum if you go anywhere near my hair I'll castrate you."
"Noted," the brunette nodded, a lot less excited now.
You got up and left when the stylists came in. You didn't really want to be in the room when the boys changed. When they came out, hair styled and jeans skin-tight. You watched them chat and giggle as they walked up to the edge of the stage.
"HURRY UP!" Someone in the stage crew yelled.
The boys broke into light jogs, all saying hi as they passed.
"See you later Y/N."
"Tell us how we do."
"You can watch if you want."
"Love ya sis."
