Wattpad only notifies me of like 90% of the comments I receive. Which means I don't see one out of every ten until I check my email 🙄
I felt bad that it updated tho so I wrote it real quick 😶
Ashton:
Your "boyfriend" was in charge of everything. When the two of you first got together Ashton said that he was controlling you, you said that he was taking care of you.
Y/A/N sure did "take care" of a lot of stuff. Including all of the money that went in and out of the house. Your paycheck was sent to a bank account you didn't have control over. You actually didn't even have your own account anymore, he forced you to close it. He took all of your physical money as well and put it in your safe when you first moved in. He said at the time that it was because when two people were together they pooled their resources.
You were given a strict and meager allowance that didn't at all compensate for the amount of work you did. He barely gave you enough to cover your half of the rent and utilities, let alone food and clothes. You couldn't remember the last time you had the funds to go out.
But that didn't mean he wasn't living well. No. He had very nice clothes, and constantly went out places with friends. His phone was brand new and he was always on his very expensive computer.
He had also confiscated your car.
It's our car now. You remember him saying when he first took the keys. The problem was, he kept the keys, both sets of them. So you couldn't ever use the "shared" car.
Your phone was practically useless too. You didn't have the money to pay the bills, so it didn't work. You were also pretty sure he put a tracker on it because he always seemed to know where you were.
Things weren't always like this. He had treated you wonderfully in the beginning, taking you out all the time, being very affectionate, and just being generally nice.
Now you were seriously beginning to wonder if you wanted to be with him anymore at all. He was escalating, and you didn't like it. But like he always did when you started to get cold feet, he turned on the charm and acted like the man you fell in love with.
"Honey I'm home!" He laughed as he arrived back from whatever escapade he had been out on that day. You on the other hand just got home from work and was laying down on the couch resting.
"Hmmmm," you hummed in greeting.
"I brought you something," his eyes twinkled with humor as he pulled out a bag from behind his back, "ta-da!"
It was a garment bag, the logo from the fancy dress store down the street. You were interested now. You got up and touched it gingerly, looking up at him in confusion.
"I know that you haven't gone out in a while so I thought that I'd take you clubbing tonight!" He smiled, motioning for you to unzip the bag.
You grinned and did as he asked. Inside was a very pretty, very short back dress perfect for the occasion.
"Wow," you said in awe.
"I also got matching shoes," he pulled out another bag from the middle of nowhere and handed it to you.
Inside were very nice black stilettos that you knew would look killer.
All of the anger that had been building up inside of you was gone right away. He was the same man you fell in love with. You pulled his face down into a kiss and smiled.
"Thank you so much babe!" You squealed, wrapping your arms around his midsection.
He chuckled and hoisted you up over his shoulder. His gym membership you were paying for was at work.
"You gotta get dressed if we're ever going to leave," he teased, grabbing the dress and shoes, carrying you and your outfit to your shared bedroom. He dropped you down on the bed and you giggled as you bounced up and down.
"Now change, I'll be waiting downstairs," he said and then left.
You got up and quickly showered, putting on the dress and shoes. You were pretty amazed that he knew your correct sizes. It just goes to show how much he loved you. You smiled a little to yourself as you did your hair and makeup.
You needed to go out and he knew it, he was so kind to think of you. You didn't see the blatant manipulation. You didn't see that he was only doing this so that he could keep on treating you poorly without further complaint. You were blinded by your own emotions.
When you were done getting ready you went down the stairs to where Y/A/N was waiting. He smiled at you and handed you a bouquet of red roses.
"They're beautiful," you smiled, taking them from him.
"Like you," he replied. Very cheesily I would add.
At the time however you were flattered and blushed at the compliment.
"M'Lady, your chariot awaits," he escorted you outside to the car. Your car which he more or less stole. Some chariot.
He walked around to the passengers side door and opened it for you, like a gentleman. When you were safely tucked inside he walked back around to the drivers seat and got in himself. The two of you were on your way.
He didn't like talking while driving. Never did, said it was a distraction. So you hummed along to the soft music of the radio until you pulled up to the club. He parked the car and helped you out.
The two of you bypassed the long line of people waiting to get in, with just a flick of Y/A/N hand. You didn't know how he did that, but you weren't complaining. This was one of the hottest clubs at the time, and you were just glad to be there.
The two of you stepped inside and you took a look around. Most of the floor was reserved for dancing, but along one wall you saw a bar. The room was dark and hazy, you could feel everything and everyone vibrating to the beat of the music.
Y/A/N led you further inside, past the dance floor and up to a staircase guarded by yet another security guard. He let the two of you up to a second level that you hadn't previously noticed. The music was muffled up there, and the room was filled with private booths to sit in.
He led you to the one second to the end and you finally stopped. You slid into one side while he sat in the other.
"Well?" He grinned leaning back, "what do you think?"
"What do I think?" You asked excitedly, "how'd you even get in here?"
"I know people," he smirked, leaning back forward to look at you.
Before he could say anything else, one of those said people approached the table. A giant scary looking dude.
"Y/A/N! You didn't tell me you'd be here today!" He pulled your boyfriend up and clapped him on the back. "How are you?" He asked.
"I'm fine," he smiled, but you could tell it wasn't genuine. He looked... nervous.
The mans attention zeroed in on you, "another girl I see," he chuckled, "how much did this one cost?"
Your heart and jaw both dropped to the floor. Did that guy just imply that Y/A/N saw prostitutes?
"Hahahahaha," he laughed it off, ignoring the confused look on his friends face, "why don't we catch up later?"
When the man left he turned back to you, "listen I don't know what he was talking about-"
But you didn't believe him. Not for a second, you were done. Again.
"No, we- we're over," you teared up and tried to rush away.
Keyword tried. Y/A/N stood up and forcibly shoved you back down. You hit your head on the wall as he started whispering to you harshly.
"I don't know who you think you are, but you do what I say, when I say it. I didn't see any other girls to your knowledge and it would be in your best interest to not pull anymore stunts," he growled. His large and intimidating person squished you painfully into the corner, "do you understand."
"Y- Y- Yes," you looked away from him.
"Good, now lets go," he pulled you up harshly by your upper arm and started to drag you out.
A familiar voice stopped him.
"HEY!" You both swiveled your heads to look at the people in the booth.
It was your brother and his friends. You had never been so happy to see them in your entire life. They stood up and man oh man did they look mad.
Y/A/N shoved you behind his back so that you couldn't be seen, "is there a problem here?" He asked gruffly, puffing himself up.
"Yes, in fact there is," Ashton stepped up in front of him, "I need you to let go of my sister."
Y/A/N chuckled, "she's my girlfriend and I'm taking her home."
"Really? Because I heard her break up with you," Calum raised an eyebrow.
"She didn't know what she was talking about," he snarled, pressing you to his back.
"Look, we're not letting you go until you hand her over, so just do us all a favor and don't make this any harder on yourself," Luke told him flatly.
"No!" Y/A/N tried to move on, but he turned to do so. Big mistake, Ashton plucked you from his grip and passed you over to Michael.
"Long time no see little Irwin," he chuckled while you hugged him tightly.
"AHHHH!" Y/A/N charged Ashton, who easily moved out of the way. Fighting had never been his strong suit.
Luke stuck out a leg and your now ex-boyfriend went sprawling out on the ground.
"SECURITY!" Calum called while Luke and Ashton pulled him up and restrained him.
A tall, scary looking security guard lumbered over and took your ex away.
"Byeeeeee," you all waved as he was dragged off.
You felt free, like a giant weight had been lifted off your shoulders when he was out of sight.
You sighed and all of the attention was now on you, "are you okay Y/N?" Ashton asked, carefully approaching you and looking for damage.
"A little banged up but I'll live," you smiled at him, "I've missed you Ashton."
"Awwwwe," everyone smiled as the two of you hugged.
"I missed you too little sister, and I'm really glad you finally got rid of that guy," he admitted.
"Me too," you agreed earning another round of laughter.
You burned the flowers that he gave you when you got home to signify the ending of the relationship you had with him. You were finally home free, no longer having to deal with a leeching, cheating, violent partner.
Turns out you hadn't got rid of him completely. You had to go to court to get your stuff back and sue him for all the money he essentially stole from you. It was a long and exhausting process, but now you had family, and actual friends to help you through it.
When it was all over you could finally have life the way you wanted it. You could pay your bills now that you had your money, and you had your house back, thoroughly cleansing it from any memory of Y/A/N for good.
