a week later
Stiles is up and walking around again. He's come back to school. Thankfully his injuries weren't as bad as they first seemed and he healed quickly.
Scott hasn't talked to Theo yet. Stiles insisted he wait until he recovered so he could be there too.
I've seen him a couple of times around school since the attack. We've waved to each other, but nothing more than that.
I got a new cellphone a few days ago. (thanks Dad!) Liam has called me a couple of times since I got my new phone. I don't know what's going on with Liam. He seems...distant. But to be fair, there is a lot going on. Between school, trying to find Kate, and somehow staying alive in Beacon Hills, we are all pretty busy.
There is now sign of Kate. Chris is going crazy looking for her. The fact that there's no sign of her makes us question her involvement, but the Berserkers lead us right back to her.
In Biology class, Josh and I work on our assignment. He tells me about his weekend. He hung out with Corey and Tracy. They wanted to invite us but with everything that happened they decided it would be best not to.
When the bell rings, Liam walks over to where Josh and I sit.
"Hey." he says.
Josh greets him back.
"You ready for lunch?" I ask Liam.
"Actually, I have a make-up exam I need to take, so I'll see you after school."
"Oh, ok. Good luck!" I tell him.
He thanks me and gives me a kiss on the cheek before heading out the door with Tracy.
I look around for Mason. He's walking out of the classroom with Corey. I think about calling after him but decide not to.
Instead, I walk to the cafeteria with Josh. As we head down a hallway I see Theo go into the boys locker room. Not far behind are Stiles and Scott.
The hallway has cleared out by now so if I were to stay and listen...no one would notice.
"Hey Josh, I just remembered I have something to do. I'll catch up with you later."
"All right." he says as he heads over to the cafeteria.
I rush over to the locker room. The door is slightly open, allowing me to listen in on their conversation.
"Why didn't you tell us you're a werewolf?" Scott asks.
"And more specifically, why did you hide your scent from us?" Stiles asks.
"I was nervous, scared. Scott, you're a True Alpha...I just didn't know how to tell you...or even ask..." Theo responds.
"Ask what?"
"To be a part of your pack. Everybody knows that, lone wolves, they don't make it on their own. You're part of the reason I moved back to Beacon Hills. I need a pack."
"That's it? That's the only reason?" Stiles asks.
"Yeah." Theo answers.
Stiles is silent. He doesn't believe him, I can tell.
Theo goes into an explanation of how he became a werewolf and apologizes to Scott for not telling him sooner.
Scott accepts the apology and thanks him for helping us.
I can tell the conversation is coming to and end so I quickly make my way to the cafeteria before I'm seen.

stilinski household
"You know I'm right, Scott!" Stiles says.
"Stiles, just because you have a feeling about someone or something doesn't mean you're right." Scott counters.
"But I'm right! There's something off about him." Stiles responds.
"You guys sound like a married couple." I say out loud, sharing the thought that was meant for myself.
They're both staring at me blankly. I laugh and stand up to walk over to them as they continue their discussion.
"If he was here on some evil plan, why would he help me? Why would he help Veronica?" Scott asks.
"I don't know. Maybe he's on some secret agenda." Stiles answers.
"Stiles," I say, "maybe Scott's right. I mean what if he genuinely is just trying to help us. Just because he's a supernatural creature, it doesn't mean he's here to kill us...right?"
Stiles looks at me with narrowed eyes. There's a look of betrayal on his face.
I look over at Scott, who is proudly smiling at me.
I look back to Stiles. His eyes still narrowed and he crosses his arms.
I put my hands up. "What? I said maybe!" I tell him and head upstairs to my room.

saturday afternoon, beacon hills sheriff department
Scott, Stiles and I were out eating and decided to visit my dad at work. Dad has just finished some paper work for a prisoner transport and is now in his office with the three of us.
Dad's going on and on about needing a hair cut.
"Well, you know someone your age should be happy you still have hair to cut." Stiles says.
"I think you look great." Scott adds.
"Well thank you, so I should've had." my dad says.
ouch
Stiles looks back and forth between my dad and Scott. He looks confused, while Scott smiles on proudly.
Funny thing is, Scott is like a son to my dad. He loves Scott as if he were his own.
I'm sitting on the couch, quietly laughing at the interactions between these three. It feels like..it feels like we're a family. Which we are, but if feels like Scott is actually my brother, by blood. But it doesn't matter if he's not, nothing will ever change the fact that he is a brother to me.
I look out my dad's window into the lobby. Deputy Clark and Parrish have someone in cuffs. I think that is the prisoner they are going to transport.
I can't hear what they are saying, but he seems angry. The only thing I hear is when he starts yelling.
"Stilinski! Stilinski!"
My dad walks out, Stiles and Scott closely behind, and I follow.
"I'm going to kill you." he spits out.
His words take my by surprise.
"Donavan," my dad replies calmly, "if you think that shocks me, remember it was well documented in your Anger Expression Inventory. Deputies escort the prisoner out."
Parrish and Clark begin to escort him out but Donavan stops them.
"I'm not angry, like I'm gonna throw a brick through your window. I'm angry, like I'm going to find you. I'm going to get a knife and I'm going to stab you with it until you're dead. And when you look at me and you ask me why, remember right now. Because this is why."
The station is silent. I stare at Donavan. I am furious. How dare he threaten to kill my dad? I wish I could do something...I wish I could control my powers so I could...
*clap, clap, clap* Stiles interrupts my train of thought. "Wow, that was awesome. That was awesome! That was great. Can we do one more?"
I jump in. "Yeah, give us another one. Maybe like Christopher Walken this time, you know?"
Stiles turns to me with a smirk on his face.
Donavan just stares at us, growing angrier by the second. My brother turns his attention back to him.
"Okay, you know what?" Stiles continues. "It's fine. You'll have plenty of time to work on it when you're in your tiny, little cell, you know. Just stuck there, forever."
Donavan having had enough of this lunges himself towards us but Clark and Parrish hold him back.
I jump back, and Scott instinctively stands in front of us, ready to protect us.
"Get him out of here!" my dad orders and the Deputies do just that.
"You ok?" I ask my dad, placing a hand on his shoulder.
"Yup. I've dealt with worse. Don't worry about him." he says as he leads us back inside his office.
In his office my dad tries to lighten the mood. After a while Scott and Stiles are laughing along with my dad.
But I'm not. I can't..
I have this feeling that Donavan is someone we should worry about, that he's someone who is going to cause us a lot of trouble, and a lot of pain.
