beacon hills memorial hospital
I'm in the waiting room, sitting next to Theo. I accompanied Scott in the ambulance and Theo followed us here. I tried to take Scott's pain but failed again and again. So, I didn't block his pain. I didn't try to block any of it. If I couldn't do anything to help him then I'd suffer with him.
I held Scott's hand the entire time until Melissa and a group of doctors wheeled him through a set of doors I wasn't allowed through once we reached the hospital. They insisted I get checked but I refused, telling them I was fine.
I called Stiles after that, telling him everything that had just happened as quickly as I possibly could. Malia was still with my brother when I called and they were already on their way to the hospital when we hung up.
I called Kira and Liam next. Kira is on her way to the hospital now and she picked up Liam on her way here.
Walking into the hospital wasn't easy. The pain and suffering from everyone here nearly made me pass out. Theo helped me stay on my feet. I'm doing my best to block it out, but it's just too much. I've never had to block out this much pain before. I can block out some of it but not all of it. But the pain I feel, even though it is intense, doesn't bother me as much as before. I guess I'm getting used to it.
Scott wasn't healing and I don't know why. I've seen him heal from similar wounds before.
I tap my foot against the floor, growing more and more impatient. We haven't been here for long but not knowing anything is driving me crazy.
That's when Melissa comes rushing through the door.
"I need to talk to you." she says as she takes my hand and pulls me aside. "He has bite marks all over his arms along with the slash marks. They look just like the ones your dad had when he was attacked."
"What? So it was the same-"
"Yes. I already called Deaton, he's on his way right now."
I nod, trying to understand all of this. Whoever attacked my dad is still in Beacon Hills and now they attacked Scott. Are they targeting us? Our families? They must be...but who?
"You need to get looked at by a doctor." Melissa says as she puts her hand under my chin and lifts my head to get a better look at my bloody face.
"I'm fine Melissa, really-"
"No, you really need to get looked at. Come on, lets go."
It amazes me that throughout all of this, she's remained so strong. I admire her so much.
"Ok." I finally agree and start to follow her as she begins to lead the way.
As we pass Theo I tell him I'll be right back. Melissa stops and asks: "Who is that?"
"Theo." I reply. "He came across the accident and stopped to help. He helped me find Scott and call 911."
"Thank you." Melissa says to Theo.
"You're welcome." Theo replies with a nod.
He looks impatient, waiting for news on Scott as well.
Melissa puts a hand on my shoulder and we continue walking down the hallway.
"Veronica! Veronica!" I hear my brother yell from the other end of the hallway.
I turn around too quickly, feeling an immense wave of pain that collects in my head and blurs my vision.
"Stiles." I say and begin to run towards him. He does the same.
We embrace in a tight hug, which causes me some pain but I don't care.
"I'm so glad you're ok." he says to me. "I was so worried."
I hold on to my brother, not wanting to let go, because no matter what is happening around me, the comfort of my brothers hug always makes me feel better.
A tear rolls down my cheek and I realize how terrified I've been. How scared I am for Scott.
He pulls away and takes my face between his hands. "Did you get checked out?" he asks.
"Not yet, but I'm fine."
He looks at me questioningly.
"Really, I'm fine." I tell him again.
Kira, Malia and Liam rush in.
Liam is quickly at my side. "You ok?" he asks. I nod and he hugs and kisses me. His presence alone helps calm me, even if he's as worried and frantic as I am.
Kira rushes over to Melissa. "Is he ok?" she asks.
"Where is he?" Stiles asks.
"What's happening? Why isn't he healing?" Kira asks as well.
"While those are all valid questions," we hear Deaton say behind us, "I'm afraid we don't have time to answer them."
We all turn to find Deaton with what seems to be his veterinarian bag. I'm guessing it's not filled with anything to treat animals with, but with all kinds of things to treat an injured, and possibly dying, werewolf.
"Where is he?" Deaton asks.
"This way, follow me." Melissa says.
Theo gets up and begins to follow us.
"No. You stay here." Stiles says to Theo in a harsh voice.
"Ok. When you have some news, please just let me know. I want to make sure Scott is ok." Theo replies.
Stiles looks at Theo with narrowed eyes.
"Is everything ok?" I ask Stiles and look back at Theo.
"Yeah." Stiles says. "Let's go."

We catch up with everybody else just before they enter Scott's room.
We find Scott laying motionless on his hospital bed. His wounds have been treated and covered up by the doctors who probably have no idea what is happening to Scott. I can barely stand to look at him like this.
"He's been drifting in and out of consciousness." Melissa says.
Deaton examines the slash marks that cover Scott's chest and the bite marks along his arms.
"Whoever attacked the Sheriff attacked Scott." he says looking at us.
"Does that mean Melissa needs to go into the ice bath?" Malia asks.
"Not necessarily. If his heart is still beating and he hasn't lost complete consciousness that means the venom hasn't spread completely. The venom spreads throughout the body shutting it down, but preserving it for some time. Because it hasn't spread completely we can still get rid of it." Deaton explains.
"How?" Liam asks.
Deaton goes into his bag and retrieves a glass bottle filled with a fine, black powder. "With this." he says. "It'll separate the venom from the blood. I'll place it over Scott's wounds and it'll begin to get rid of the venom that is killing him."
Deaton looks at Melissa for reassurance, making sure this is ok with her.
"Ok. Let's do this." she says bringing her hands together nervously.
"A warning." Deaton adds. "This isn't going to be pleasant for Scott. It's going to hurt, he might even feel like he's been set on fire. Malia, Liam, Veronica...your abilities would be very helpful right now."
Without hesitation Malia takes a hold of Scott's hand and Liam takes a hold of Scott's other hand.
Everyone turns to look at me. I haven't moved and I'm still standing next to Stiles.
"I- I don't know how. I already tried and I couldn't." I say.
"It's ok. You're right. Now's not the appropriate time for a lesson." Deaton says and turns his attention back to Malia and Liam.
I turn to Melissa.
"It's ok." She says, reading my thoughts. She turns to Kira and they hold hands, hoping this will work. Stiles and I do the same.
After removing the medical dressing from Scott's wounds Deaton takes the bottle and takes off the cap. He let's the powder fall over Scott's wounds. We can see as Scott's body absorbs the powder. Scott begins to move slightly, beginning to feel the pain Deaton was talking about.
His eyes open and he screams. Malia and Liam hold on to Scott tightly and begin to take his pain.
He's in so much pain, so much agony. His screams are worse than before. Malia and Liam can feel his pain and they take it from him, helping alleviate some of his suffering. I can feel it too. I close my eyes trying my best to stay on my feet.
"Oh my God, what is that?" Melissa asks, alarmed.
"What's going on?" Stiles asks.
I open my eyes, my vision is blurred but I can still see how black liquid begins to ooze out of Scott's wounds.
Scott is still screaming, writhing in pain.
"It's the venom, it's separated from his blood now. He's getting rid of it." Deaton says as he places his hand on Scott's shoulder. "Hold on, Scott. It's almost over."
The black liquid has finally stopped oozing from Scott's wounds and Scott's screams have stopped as well.
Malia and Liam have let go of Scott's hands and Melissa is helping Scott sit up as his wounds begin to heal right before our eyes. It was the venom that was preventing him from healing.
"Where's Veronica?" he asks.
"I'm right here." I say walking towards him. When I reach him I hug him and tears fill my eyes.
"Ow." he says.
I pull away. "Oh my gosh, did I hurt you? I'm sorry!"
"It's ok." he says with a smile. "Are you ok?" he then asks, concerned.
"Yeah, I'll be fine."
I take a step back, letting everyone else hug Scott and check on him.
Melissa asks Scott a lot of questions regarding how he's feeling.
Everyone lets Scott know how glad they are that he's ok. Scott and Stiles share a long hug and Scott and Kira share a sweet kiss.
Once Scott's wounds have completely healed, Melissa gives Scott a shirt. They are all gathered around him, making sure he's ok. I stand further back, watching them all interact.
After Liam has talked to Scott, he walks over to me. I smile at him and he smiles back.
He pulls me in for a hug, comforting each other as we hold one another.
"I love you." he whispers to me.
"I love you too." I whisper back.
We let go of each other and he stands next to me, holding my hand.
I see Scott smile at Stiles and I can't help but smile too. We have our Scott back, we didn't lose him.
But Liam brings me back to reality.
"Who do you think is doing this?" he asks, his voice full of anger.
The smile on my face fades.
"I don't know." I reply. "But we're going to find out."
