My personal ship problems:

Well goody here we go. Before I start I just wanna remind you that this is my personal opinions. I have a huge distaste for this ship, so I would be really glad that if my hate for it clouds my judgement and I just type something that makes me look like a fool, then telling me that I'm being ridiculous is fine.
Warning: Again, this is my personal opinion. I dont really care if you ship Sonadow with your life or have a thousand fanarts of the two.
It's not really the ship itself that I have a problem with honestly, its how people react to it. Everyone here, to me, has an obsession for it. Literally this ship is the sonamy of wattpad (because it is best ship everywhere else) Feel free to correct me, since I haven't seen much Sonic related stuff here, but everything I did see, is endless smut books and crazy and hyper fangirls who squeal and cry at a fanart of the two.
Actually, so my hate right now would be lessened, I'm gonna talk positively about this ship!Well honestly I'm not blind about what makes this ship so popular. Other than the fact that they are both hot, they do have a connection.
Sonadow fans seems to see this kind of scenario, where after all of those years of isolation in hatred towards the world, through Sonic's help he gets to see the positive side of the world, as he and his friends convinced him to do so.And if it was a stereotypical love anime, somewhere n the lines of that they would fall for each other, because of how much one trusts the other because he isn't familiar with the world yet, and because of his gratitude for helping him save the world just like in his promise to Maria.
And Sonic would just want him because he is hot. Just kidding I aint stupid. But seriously I an't think of a reason for Sonic's side.
Fanarts, comics and stories tends to explain them very well, I mean I don't know I dont read sonadow fanfictions but based on knowledge maybe they do. I mean atleast comic strips, I've seen some that makes them fit good.
Although I don't really see what makes it that great. I mean yaoi shippers obviously would fangirl at this ship and make it happen because it looks good. BUT I'M NOT INTO SHIPS WHO ARE JUST GLUED TOGETHER BECAUSE THEY LOOK GOOD! I need some substance that would make this ship appealing to me. And well I can't find it, or atleast I refuse to.
And well people here aren't helping it either. Thanks to wattpad, I officially despised this ship.Other than the fact that people here keeps posting Sonadow related art books, make Sonadow RPs and make long paragraphs of why they love it.
I mean it's great and all but is it that great?
I really have more that I want to say but right now I don't remember any.
Also, I will not hate on a ship for it being maleXmale. I wouldn't touch a ship like that if its a good ship and it makes sense. I mean it is personally one of the reasons why I dont like it, but for my general reasons to not like this ship, this wont be one of them.
Oh yeah, the usual "Changing the personality of a character for the sake of the ship" thing. Sonadow is not an exception. Infact its one of the most irritating one when it comes to this subject.
The two's personalities always change depending on which obsessive fangirl you are talking to. Some people would make Sonic and Shadow act tough to each other when it comes to relationship. This one is pretty out of character, as most people seem to make them both nothing but fuck boys
Second, being Sonic is an uke and Shadow is a seme (I saw though Trinity_Prower8 that this is what it was called) which I think uke is what Silver is in the fandom. Basically its also out of character too. Making Sonic look like nothing but a crybaby and Shadow is like a pervert.
I don't think there's a point on explaining to what parts do they change in the two and to what extent, because I think I'd like to discuss those in their individual character sheets.
I once saw a comment (aka one of my old comments)that went something like this:
Personally, Sonadow does look like a good ship, but it lacks something. Honestly based on what I see, Sonadow is nothing but sweet words and smut. Remove the overly smutty fanarts and out of character drawings of them together, they end up looking like one of those ships who are only good because the people who make up that ship are good. Or is only good because one person said it is and everyone agreed in it anyway. Or is only good because they are both popular characters and are both male, so the whole yaoi fandom needs them to hook up for the sake of fan art.
This kind of change to a characters personality is something I dislike very much, if you dont already know. It just pisses me off when people do things like this.
It makes me convinced that the only way this ship would actually have a chance is if Sonic and Shadow aren't themselves, but is nothing but yaoi loving perverts I'm also slightly convinced that shippers who like this are also yaoi loving perverts (which I think 50% percent of them are)
I mean people rate this ship a bajillion over 10! I mean what kind of rating is that? You aren't really thinking it through (infact im gonna make a rant about Ship opinion books soon) and you end up looking too ridiculous that I leave the book immediately.
My point is, Sonadow's main problem is their characterization and their fanbase. Sonic and Shadow are OOC beyond reason, with Sonic being all cutesy and practically begs for Shadow's love and attention while Shadow seems to be extroverted when it comes to his affections towards someone and acts sexual around, which feels nothing like the real Shadow that most fans grew up with.
Their fans tends to over-defend them, and when they have nothing else to say just use petty arguments and curses to make up for their lack of a defense. Sonadow fans arent the only one, sure but I think I've argues with a decent amount of sonadow fans to know that they would drag down any ship that goes against theirs, and they likes to fight with people who disagree.
Not to say I havent met any normal sonadow fans who likes it for what it can potentially be and only for their friendship.

Okay, since I saw someone mention the theory about Gerald Robotnik, making Shadow unable to be attracted to females or just plain homosexual, my answer to that is this theory is kinda dumb. First off, why would he make him only unattracted to one gender in the first place? Considering how long Shadow can live, he'd bound to get attracted to something thats not a female, atleast once. This fact makes that headcanon look even more ridiculous, if you think about it in a story-telling standpoint.
Second, why would he make him homosexual? Not that I want to burst your bubble or anything, but honestly it makes no sense at all. What purpose would Gerald Robotnik have, if he ever did make him one? Theres no point to it, because in theory it would make the most logical sense if they didnt do anything at all to Shadow or made him asexual. Those two conclusions pretty much solves every problem that the first two have.
(I also changed some of the spacing and structure of some sentences, to avoid sounding too biased)
NotMH NOTE:
I will edit this once I think of more arguments, and I'm gonna make more ship rants too. If anyone can give me some counter arguments, I would love to argue with you and convince me that I'm wrong (if I am) Honestly though, sorry if this one is just me raging on my personal reasons for hating this ship. Maybe later I can think of general arguments later, but right now again, this is all I can think of.
