Hi Readers: Don't you love it when I'm on a roll? I hope that you guys have been enjoying the chapters that I have written for you so far, and are ready for some more family-oriented chapters; so, what do you say? Let's get back to some family Chapters, starting with this one; here's Chapter One Hundred and Twenty-Two.
XXXXXXXXXXX XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

The smiles on the parents' faces could never compared with the ones that were on their sons' faces, as the smiles that they were plastered on Matteo and Noah's little faces where adorable; and that was due to the fact that they were in the presence of their parents for the first time in a while. And that was all it took for Matteo and Noah to smile, for their parents to be with them; oh, and for them to give them a bunch of attention. And considering they were going out as a family, they were going to get a bunch of attention from their mommy and daddy; not that they aren't always the center of attention, because that's exactly what they are each and every day. You could call them magnets, because that's what they are; they're magnets for their (large) extended family, and they automatically get everybody's attention. And when they say everybody's attention, they mean everybody's attention; including strangers at times, which was going to be the case. And that was because they were babies, and everybody loves babies.

So much so, that they make the City of Angels stop in their tracks; and that's something that is very hard to do, because everybody is always very busy when they're out and about (not that the boys go out with their parents all that much). But when they do, it just makes them happy; especially since it also means that they get to explore this sprawling area known as the Greater Los Angeles metropolis, which was their new home. And so far, it's the only home that they've ever know. Sure, they lived in Honolulu for a while; but they were too young to really remember the time that they spent there, as they never got a chance to make any memories there. (Especially with the media attention that forced them to leave Hawaii). But still, that didn't mean that Los Angeles was the boys' only hometown; it was just the hometown that they've visited, and lived in. And that was due to the fact that they had another hometown, one that they've never been to yet: The Magnificent City of Chicago, the Windy City. That was always going to be one of their homes.

Because it was the city where their parents met, and where they fell in love, in the most unique of places, in a firehouse. More specifically, Firehouse 51; when their daddy was a handsome firefighter (with the rank of lieutenant), and their mommy was a paramedic. But they would never know that their daddy was (previously) engaged to a woman named Dr. Hallie Thomas, when their parents met; that part of their love story (the love story that could be called a rollercoaster), was a part that they don't need to know about. But still, Matt and Gabby would have it any other way; for the simple fact that they're both each other's best friends, and the loves of each other's lives. In fact, Matt likes to call Gabby both his miracle, and his one true love. But right now, Matt and Gabby aren't lovers; rather, they are parents to their lil' boys. And that meant that they needed to put their attention on them, as they took care of them; and at the same time, they got them ready to take their walk this morning, ahead of their little boys' nap.

The nap that they were going to take as soon as they get home from the walk, which was also going to include their favorite furry friend; their daddy's service dog, Andy (who was named after one of their daddy's late best friends). And they would learn all about him in time, especially Matteo; because Matteo's middle name was Andrew, in honor of said late best friend. And they would also be told about their mommy's late best friend, Elizabeth Shay; the women whom Gabby would've love to have made one of their godmothers, but she's okay with it now. She's been okay with not having Shay in her life now for the longest time, Shay being both her nickname; as well as Gabby's late best friend's last name. A best friend that Matt and Gabby believe is watching over them, even though she isn't here with them; but now, they're going to get out of here. They're going to go on a walk, as soon as their daddy comes outside; and that was because he was in the midst of getting some water bottles of him and their mommy, which they needed.

They needed some water bottles, because their mommy was pregnant; she was pregnant with their baby sister, and that was why she needed to stay hydrated. In other words, she needed to drink water, which she was going to do the minute their daddy walked over to them, which he just did. "Here Gabby, how about you take a sip of water?" Turning away from looking at the boys, Gabby smiled as she watched Matt bring her water bottle over to her. "Thanks baby." Matt smiled as he heard Gabby say that, before walking right up to her; after which, he wrapped his arm around her waist and smiled as he bent down to kiss her softly. Taking things nice and slow with his beautiful wife shortly afterwards, Matt smirked due to the fact that he was happy; after which, he turned his head and looked at his little boys. Reaching into the stroller, Matt smiled as he proceeded to scratch both of their chests. "Hey little guys, you ready to go out with your mommy and daddy?" Gabby smiled as she heard Matt say that, as that definitely was quite adorable right now.

"Got, you're making me blush baby." Turning to look at Gabby as she said that, Matt smiled as he wrapped his arm around her; after which, he turned his head and kissed her forehead softly. After all, that was exactly what Gabby wanted him to do right now; she wanted him to give her a little bit of love, which he does every single day. God, the way that they act with each other makes their family sick at times; but still, that didn't mean that they cared. Rather, they didn't care whatsoever; and that was due to the fact that they didn't want to be told how they can show affection with each other, as that was something that they just love doing with each other. Heck, you could think that they were still teenagers; but that was exactly what they wanted to do, and how they wanted to show each other love. But now, this was not the time for them to show each other love; rather, it was time for them to get out of here. They wanted to take a walk with their boys, and that was what they're going to do right now. "So, you ready to get out of here?"

Gabby agreed with Matt as he asked her whether she was ready to get out of here, as that most definitely was something that she wanted to do; she wanted to leave, and head out on their walk. She just wants to go on their walk and get some exercise with their boys. Turning her head, Gabby smiled as she looked at Matteo and Noah; after which, she proceeded to stroke their cheeks. "And I think that these little boys are both ready to leave for our walk too." Matt agreed with Gabby as she said that, before hearing Andy bark; looking down at his dog afterwards, Matt smiled as he looked at him. "Okay, take it easy and relax boy." Andy agreed with Matt as he said that, which then led the former firefighter to think about something. "What do you think of me putting the leach on the stroller handle?" Gabby smiled as Matt asked her what she thought of him putting the leach on the stroller handle, because she most definitely loved the idea; and that was due to the fact that it would allow her to hold his hand, as they take their walk together.

"I love that idea, because that means that I can hold your hand." Matt agreed with Gabby as she said that, before turning his head and looking at Andy. "Sit boy, sit down so that you can relax. Then, daddy is going to do something." Andy agreed with Matt as he said that, sitting down; after which, Matt proceeded to bend down and grabbed the clip on his vest. Taking it off, Matt smiled as he went ahead and proceeded to wrap the leach around the stroller handle; after which, he clipped it back onto Andy's collar. The collar that he has to wear as a service dog, because it makes things much easier for when they need to go into restaurants. But now, they're just going to get out of here. Turning to look at Gabby after getting Andy all set up, Matt smiled as he extended his hand; after which, Gabby grabbed it and intertwined their fingers. He then leaned in and smirked as he kissed Gabby softly. "Let's get out of here and go have some fun as a family." Gabby agreed with Matt as he said that, well aware that was the case. "Oh, I'm definitely up for that."

XXXXXXXXXXX XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

They decided that their walk was going to take place on the beach, as it would allow Andy to roam some more; it would make sure that he doesn't tug on the leach, and so that he can get some more energy out than he would if he stayed attached to the stroller. But that didn't mean that Matt was going to let him go that far, because Matt had something of a surprise in store for Andy; something that he has hidden in the bottom of the stroller, as he didn't want to get his service dog too excited. Seeing Matt look down at the toy that he has for Andy, Gabby laughed a bit due to the fact that she already knew that he was going to want to play with him. "Here baby, what do you say I push the stroller if you're going to do that with Andy?" Turning to look at Gabby, Matt smiled as he liked that idea. "Sure, that sounds great." Gabby agreed with Matt as he said that, before letting go of his hand; at the same time, Matt let go of the stroller. After which, he switched places with Gabby so that he could be the one walking next to her today.

But first, he had to do something else; and that was take off Andy's leach, which he did promptly so that he could get Andy to run. Just smiling at his dog, Matt got him to get close. "Andy, come here boy." Andy the turned his head and proceeded to get close to him, wondering why that was the case; that was, until he saw the ball. And seeing the ball most definitely made him get excited, and it also made him bark; because that was definitely something that he wanted to do, he wanted to play with Matt. And that was exactly what they're going to do with each other, they're going to play starting right now. Getting up after taking off his leach, Matt smiled as he took off Andy's leach from the stroller; afterwards, he threw it down into the bottom of the stroller. "God, you love that we have a place to keep all the things that you don't want to carry." Matt laughed, agreeing with Gabby as she said that; after which, Matt got up and looked at Andy. Whistling, Matt spoke to him. "Andy." Turning around, Andy saw the ball and started to get really excited.

Jumping, Andy smiled as he was ready to run after the ball that Matt has for them to play with. "Yeah, you're excited to run after the ball; aren't you Andy?" Andy barked, agreeing with Matt. After which, Matt proceeded to throw it into the water for Andy. "You do realize that he's going to smell like wet dog now, right?" Turning to look at Gabby, Matt smiled as he agreed with the woman he loves. "I know. Sorry ahead of time." Gabby shook her head as she heard Matt say that, as she would rather have him have fun with Andy; than have him just not let Andy run, because she knows that Andy needs to get exercise. "Well, I think that I can forgive you; and that's due to the fact that I love you more than anything in the entire world." Matt laughed as he heard Gabby tell him that, well aware that was the case; after all, this is everything that they both want to do right now. "So, do you think that Andy is going to be all tired when we get home?" Gabby laughed as she heard Matt ask her that, before going to grab his hand and intertwining their fingers.

After which, she decided to grab her arms around his bicep, which then prompted Gabby to push the stroller. "Thanks baby." Gabby smiled as she heard Matt say that, happy to be pushing the stroller. After which, Matt felt Andy come back and drop the ball at his feet; picking it up, Matt smiled as he looked at Andy. "You ready to run again boy?" Andy barked, agreeing with Matt as he proceeded to throw the ball for him (the dog barking as a way for him to say thank you). He then smiled as he continued to make his way over to the ball, which was exactly what Matt wanted to do; after which, he ran back. And that was exactly what the dog did for a while, due to the fact that Matt continued to throw the ball for him; and that also gave Gabby time to do something else, which was stop them from walking. Turning to face Matt, Gabby smiled as she tugged on his chest; and that prompted Matt to stop walking and look at the woman he loves. Stepping close to the woman he loves, Matt smiled as he wrapped his arm around her and held her close.

At the same time, Matt smiled as he leaned in and proceeded to kiss the woman he loves more than anything in the entire world; and let's just say that was exactly what Gabby wanted, as she loves him more than anything in the entire world. "God, I love you so much." Gabby agreed with Matt as he said that, before smiling as they continued to walk down the beach together. "So, what else are we going to do today?" Matt smirked as he had a feeling as to what she wanted to do. "I think we both know what we want to do, and that was have fun with each other in bed." Gabby laughed as Matt said that, well aware that was the case. "Oh, I know that's the case; and I think we are going to do it eventually, but not yet. First, I think we need to do something else with the boys." Matt was a bit confused as he heard Gabby say that. "And what was that?" Gabby smiled as she looked at the man she loves. "How about first, we turn around and we can start making our way home?" Matt agreed with Gabby as she said that, before turning around to head home.

XXXXXXXXXXX XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

Slowly starting to make their way back home, Matt and Gabby both smiled due to the fact that this is exactly what they both want to do right now; and they just want to go relax with each other, while also spending some time with their family. "You happy that we got outside of a bit." Gabby agreed with Matt as he said that, before watching as he threw the ball of Andy again; that being the way he needs to make sure that Andy goes back towards the house (rather than towards the place that they were headed). And that's exactly what he did, he started to head home for them; and god, that is just something that they love. They love the fact that they can just walk together. "Of course, I am, because it was exactly what we needed right now; we needed to get out, and I needed to get some exercise." Matt agreed with Gabby as she said that, smiling due to the fact that this is just something that they're both really happy. "You definitely do need to get some exercise, because it'll make sure that you stay nice and healthy for our daughter."

Gabby agreed with Matt as he said that, smiling as she decided to also do a few lunges with the stroller. "And you can do that." Gabby smiled as she heard Matt say that, as that most definitely is something that she can do. "Don't lie and say that there isn't something else that you like." Matt smirked as he heard Gabby say that, as he was well aware of what she was referring to; and that was her ass. And god, she is so damn sexy; he's just glad that she's his wife. "God, I can't wait to get you home so that I can tap that." Gabby laughed as she heard Matt say that, before getting up and looking at her husband; after which, she grabbed his shirt and brought him close. She then leaned in, and proceeded to kiss the man she loves more than anything in the entire world; at the same time, Matt wrapped his arm around her and smirked as they took things nice and slow with his girl. "God, you are so damn sexy; and I am so glad that you're my wife." Gabby agreed with Matt as he said that, before going to remind him to calm down. "Calm down baby."

Matt agreed with Gabby as she said that, before smiling as they both walked away; that way, they can make sure that they just take it easy and make their way home. And when they get home, they'll take it easy with each other too. "So, what are we going to do when we get home?" Gabby smiled as Matt asked her what she wants to do when they get home, because she would love to spend some time with their kids. "I would love to play with the boys and tire them out, then we can have lunch with my mom." Matt smirked as he heard Gabby say that, before putting his hand on her lower back. "As long as you take it easy and remember to relax; then I think I can be okay with doing that." Gabby agreed with Matt as he told her that, smiling as that was exactly what she wanted to hear him say. Because it meant that they were going to have fun with each other, with their boys; and only after they spend time with them, will they make their way back upstairs. "I'm glad that we're going to spend time with our family." Matt agreed with Gabby as she said that.

"I think that we need to start more, especially before we have our daughter." Gabby laughed as she heard Matt say that, well aware that was the case. "Don't lie and say that you aren't very excited for that day to happen though, because I know you are." Matt agreed with Gabby as she said that, as that most definitely was the truth; he is very excited to be a father to their baby girl, and will be very protective of her from the moment she's born. "And I'm also going to be very protective of her from the moment she's born." Gabby laughed as she heard Matt say that, as she already knew that was going to be the case. "Oh, I know that baby. Now, how about we just take it easy and keep walking? Because I would really like it if we could just walk in silence, as we're going to be very busy at the house; it's so loud there now." Matt agreed with Gabby as she said that, before going to grab his phone. "I'm just going to do something first." Gabby looked at Matt when he said that. "And what's that?" Matt smiled. "Lunch with Kelly and Stella?" Gabby agreed, smiling.

Opening the text thread that he had with Kelly, Matt smiled as he proceeded to send him a text. 'We're on our way back from a walk with the boys and Andy. Want to join us in the living room for lunch?' Hitting send, Matt smiled as he put his phone back into his pocket so that he can have it close to him in case Severide texts him back.

XXXXXXXXXXX XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

Text from Matt Casey: Want to join us in the living room for lunch?

Turning to look at his wife shortly after getting a text from Matt, Kelly Severide smiled due to the fact that she was currently in the midst of feeding Stephen (while he fed Kyle); and while he was comfortable here, he was also interested in going to spend some time with their friends. "Hey, Matt and Gabby are coming back from a walk with their boys. What do you say we take the boys downstairs and join them for lunch?" Turning to look at Kelly as he said that, Stella smiled as that was something that she liked the idea of; after all, she loved spending time with Gabby. But that didn't mean that she wanted to do it for too long; rather, she only wanted to do it for a while. "No business, and only for a bit. I want to come relax here after. I'm still recovering remember?" Kelly agreed with Stella as she said that, as he was well aware of the fact that she was still recovering; after all, he is her husband and the one who's been helping her recover. "I know that Stella, and I promise that's what we're going to do." Stella agreed with Kelly, before smiling at her husband.

After which, she turned her head and smiled as she leaned in so that she could kiss the man she loves more than anything in the entire world; and let's just say that was exactly what Kelly wanted, because he loves sharing kisses with the woman he loves more than anything. Yes, they both love each other that way; and they aren't going to hear any complaints from the peanut gallery over how much they love each other, as they (just like Matt and Gabby) are each other's one true loves and soulmates. And that's why they're glad that they have kids, because it means that they're stuck together for the rest of their lives; something that Jay and Alex are also experiencing right now, as they recover from Alex giving birth premature. And that was actually the last text that Stella just got, an update on how they were doing at the hospital (she's been texting Alex since she was there with her while they were at the hospital); and let's just say that she was happy that she was still giving her some updates, as she's worried for the new mother.

Text from Alex Halstead: I'm doing okay. Just doing some breathing as I relax with Jay, trying to stay busy.

Shaking her head, Stella just took a breath; and Kelly already know what that meant, she was thinking about their friends right now. "You're thinking about Jay and Alex, aren't you?" Stella sighed as she turned her head and looked at the man she loves. "I was just checking on her over text, and I just hate how this happened to them. They don't deserve this." Kelly agreed with his wife as she said that, as this truly was the last thing that he wanted for his good friend. "I know what you mean, how are they anyways?" Stella sighed. "Alex said that she's okay. She's breathing and relaxing with Jay, while also trying to stay busy." Kelly agreed with Stella when she said that. "Maybe you can ask her to design?" Stella looked at her husband when he said that. "Seriously? It's okay for HER to design, but not okay for ME to design?" Kelly sighed. "She needs a distraction, and has a hovering husband, and a bunch of doctors watching over her constantly." Stella thought about it, and just agreed with him as he said that. "Let me talk to Gabby about it first." Kelly agreed.

"I think that's something that you should do, as you want to be on the same page with her; heaven knows how scary that woman c an get when you get on her bad side." Stella just looked at her husband when he said that, before reminding him that Gabby is her best friend. "May I remind you that Gabby is my best friend, and that you really don't want to talk bad about her right now?" Kelly agreed with Stella as she told him that, well aware that was the case. "Do you really think I want to make my best friend mad?" Stella then thought about that, and just agreed with Kelly. "You're lucky that I can punch you since I have Stephen in my arms." Kelly smiled as he heard Stella say that, well aware that was the case. "I love you Stella." Stella agreed with her loving husband as he said that, well aware that was the case; which he showed her after she laid her head down on his shoulder, and he turned his head to kiss her forehead softly. And that was exactly what Stella wanted, as it was so sweet; as was this moment they're sharing as a family today.
