Hi Readers: Sorry for the delay in getting this chapter out to you. But boy, has a lot gone on since I last posted a chapter. Just what might you ask? I went out for a walk, decided to stop at a restaurant for supper, made my way ALL the way back home, realized that I forgot my AirPod case, made my way back to the restaurant to get the case, and then made my way all the way back home AGAIN. So yeah, a lot of stuff just happened before I posted this chapter. But now, it's time for me to just get to it. Here's Chapter Ninety-Six.

7:30 PM – Severide Primary Suite
She needed a distraction, a distraction that was something completely unrelated to her family; something that was easy for her to do, and that she would be able to do without Matt stopping her. And she tried to think of all the options that she had, and she just couldn't think of any.... except for one. That one thing that she thought about? Well, that was what their friends asked them to do while they were still at the hospital; and that would be to change their bed, ahead of them coming home next week. So, that's exactly what Gabby was in the midst of doing. Starting to put on the duvet onto Kelly and Stella's mattress his evening, Gabby took a breath as she hoped not to make Matt mad that she was even doing this. After all, this was probably the last thing that he wanted her to be doing right now, which was absolutely the case. So much so, that he just scared her when he spoke to her from the door of the room. "What are you doing?" Jumping as Matt said that, Gabby got really scared as she turned around and looked at the man she loves.
"Shit baby, you scared the crap out of me." Matt agreed with Gabby as she said that, understanding that was the case; after all, she did just jump this evening.. "I just finished speaking to Eva, and I asked her to play with her cousins tonight; that way, they can be tired when their grandmother puts them to sleep tonight." Turning around, Gabby took a breath as she heard Matt say that. "Good. I mean..." Matt agreed with his wife as she said that, well aware of the fact that her mind is currently racing. "So much for that bath calming you down." Gabby snickered a bit, shaking her head as that most definitely was not what happened. "I'm sorry." Matt shook his head as Gabby apologized to him, before walking up to her; after which, he proceeded to wrap his arms around her and smiled at the woman he loves. Wrapping her arms around Matt too as they held each other close, Gabby looked up at the man she loves. "I spoke to your mom." Gabby agreed with Matt as he told her that, well aware that was the case. "Yeah?" Matt agreed with his wife.
"I asked her if we can just keep the status quo. We can spend time with Matteo and Noah whenever we want, but only as long as we want; unless we tell them that we got them, then they are going to take care of the boys. Meanwhile, we're going to just take care of each other." Gabby agreed with Matt as he said that, glad that was the case. "Thank you." Matt shook his head as he heard Gabby say that, before moving his lips to her forehead; after which, he kissed her forehead softly. "Kelly and Stella also know that this is going to be the case, and they're going to give us time to reset and regroup; because we both know that's what you need to do with me right now." Gabby agreed with her dreamy husband as he told her that, as that most definitely is the case. After which, she leaned up and proceeded to kiss him softly. Taking things nice and slow with the man she loves, Gabby smiled due to the fact that she loves him more than anything in the entire world; after which, Gabby wrapped her arms around Matt's torso as they held each other close right now.
Moving to press his lips against Gabby's forehead, Matt smiled as they both held each other close; after which, he looked down at the woman he loves while running his hands up and down her arms. He then moved his hand to Gabby's neck and smiled at the woman of his dreams, and the mother of his children; after which, Matt bent down so that he could take things nice and slow with the woman he loves more than anything in the entire world. "I love you." Gabby agreed with Matt as he told her that he loves her, well aware that was the case. "I love you too Matt, and I am so glad that this is what we're in the midst of doing; as much as we want to be alone somewhere else..." Matt smiled, before going to finish her thought. "...we just need to be here, with the boys being taken care of." Gabby smiled as she heard Matt say that, before stepping close to him again; after which, she wrapped her arms around Matt and then leaned in to kiss him softly. Taking things nice and slow with the man she loves, Gabby smirked as she loves him so much.
And she means that more than anything in the entire world. "Here, do you want some help? Maybe we can talk about what we want to do tonight?" Gabby agreed with Matt, as that most definitely was what she wanted to do. Letting go of his beautiful wife, Matt smiled at her while she walked around the bed so that she can do the other side of the bed; afterwards, he went to grab some of the sheets. "So, do you want to talk about our plans for tonight?" Gabby agreed with Matt as he asked her whether she wants to talk about their plans for tonight. "I think that can be summarized in three words." Grabbing the top of the sheets, Matt looked at Gabby as he started to put it on the mattress. He then tucked it under, before watching as Gabby did the same with the other side of the mattress cover. "Oh, can it now?" Gabby agreed with Matt as he said that, before smiling as she walked down the side of the bed; after which, she grabbed the bottom of the bed sheet to do the same thing as she just did at the top of the bed. "No sex, please."
Matt just laughed as he heard Gabby say that, unable to deny that it was funny. God, she's really funny; and he's really happy that they're in the midst of doing this right now. "God, that's so funny." Gabby agreed with Matt when he said that. "Actually, it's not that funny; not when I'm being serious." Matt agreed with Gabby as she told him that, well aware of the fact that she doesn't want to have sex tonight. "Baby, I know that; especially since I don't want to have sex tonight." Gabby just looked at Matt when he said that, agreeing with him as they finished putting on the bed sheet; afterwards, Matt proceeded to grab the other sheet while going to throw part of it to Gabby. "So, is there a reason that you don't want to have sex tonight?" Matt sighed when Gabby asked him why he didn't want to have sex, before bending down so that he can put the bed sheet under the mattress. "It's because I don't want what happened to Jay and Alex, to happen to us...again." Standing up, Gabby took a breath as she looked at the man she loves.
After which, she decided to make her way over to the end of the bed. "Hey, come here." Matt agreed with his beautiful wife as she said that, before proceeding to make his way over to the end of the bed so that he can stand with her; at the same time, Matt smiled as he moved his hands to her sides. Picking her up, Matt smiled as he set her down on the footboard; after which, he stepped close to her and smiled at the woman he loves more than anything in the entire world. Moving his hands to her neck, Matt smiled as he leaned in and kissed her softly. "Hey, take a breath for me please." Gabby agreed with Matt when he said that, proceeding to take some breaths; after which, Matt moved his hand to her stomach to make sure that she's calm. After all, that's what Gabby needs to be right now. She needs to be calm, and she needs to relax for the sake of their daughter; after which, Gabby smiled as she held Matt close. Putting her hand on his neck, Gabby smiled as she leaned up land kissed him softly; and that was exactly what she needed tonight.
Moving his hands to Gabby's arms, Matt ran his hand down them and just smiled as he looked at the woman he loves more than anything in the entire world. "Hey, I promise that you have nothing to worry about; okay baby? We're going to take it easy, and we're going to relax. We're going to hold each other close, and we're going to have a nice night with each other. That's all we're going to do tonight." Gabby agreed with Matt as he told her that, smiling due to the fact that it was exactly what she wanted to her from her husband; after which, she put her hands on his muscular chest. Putting his hands on her arms, Matt smiled as he leaned in and kissed her softly. Taking things nice and slow with the woman he loves more than anything in the entire world, Matt smirked due to the fact that this really is everything that he wants to do right now. He wants to hold the woman he loves more than anything in the entire world close to him, and that's exactly what he's in the midst of doing right now, holding the woman close to him, and taking it easy.
Moving his hand to Gabby's neck, Matt smiled as he stroked her cheek while continuing to make her feel extremely loved. "I love you Gabby." Gabby agreed with Matt as he told her that he loves her. "I love you too Matt, and you really are doing perfectly when it comes to how you're taking care of me." Matt smiled as he heard Gabby tell him that, more than happy over the fact that they're going to just relax with her; after which, he wrapped his arms around her and smiled. "So, we're not going to have sex tonight. But what does that mean for what you want me to wear today?" Gabby smiled as she heard Matt ask her that. "I trust you Matt, and I don't want to change a thing. Just because we're home, that doesn't mean that I don't still want to give you something special; something I promised at the hotel." Matt agreed with his beautiful wife as she said that, smiling as he leaned in so that he can kiss her softly. After which, he took things nice and slow with the woman of his dreams, who just so happens to also be his beautiful wife.
After which, Matt moved his hands to Gabby's neck again; he then leaned in, kissing the woman he loves nice and slowly. "God, you are so beautiful, and I am so glad that you're my wife." Gabby agreed with Matt as he said that, well aware that was the case. "Oh, I know that you're happy that I'm your wife; I can already see that in your pants." Looking down, Matt blushed before shaking his head; after which, he leaned in and kissed her again. Taking things nice and slow with Gabby, Matt smirked due to the fact that this really is everything that he wants right now. He just wants to take things nice and slow with Gabby, and he wants to hold her in his arms. "I promise, we're going to just hold each other close today; and we're also going to hold each other close tomorrow, and every day for a while." Gabby agreed with Matt when he said that, before smiling at the man she loves; after which, Matt grabbed her hand and intertwined their fingers. "Listen, how about you go lay down in bed? Or at least stand at the end of our bed." Gabby smirked.
"Let me guess, somebody wants to take off my clothes for me?" Matt smirked as he heard Gabby ask him that, before moving his hands to her neck again; after which, he leaned in and kissed her softly (again). "Or, do you want to finish helping me here? Then, we can walk to our room together." Gabby agreed with Matt as he asked her that, as she most definitely loves that idea. "I love that idea." Matt agreed with his beautiful wife as she said that, watching as she got off the footboard; after which, she made her way back over to the other side of the bed (which she was just on) so that she can continue to help Matt make the bed. "So, you know what us making this bed means right?" Looking up at Matt when he said that, Gabby was confused. "What's that?" Matt laughed. "This is the last weekend where we're the only one with twin boys in the house." Gabby was shocked when he said that, just realizing that for now. "Oh wow." Matt agreed with his beautiful wife when she said that, smiling at the woman he loves more than anything.
"I already put a bunch of the boys' clothes here in their room." Gabby agreed with Matt as he said that, well aware that was the case. "Yeah, I'm sure that they're going to love that." Matt smiled as he heard Gabby say that, already well aware that's the case. "Okay, let's finish this. Then, we can get out of here; and we can go get in bed with each other. I can hold you in my arms, and I can make sure that we take it easy together." Gabby sighed. "Do you want to wear sweats for now?" Matt shrugged.
"I'm leaving it up to you. What do you want to do?"

Casey Primary Suite Bathroom - This was going to be their original plan had they stayed at the hotel, had everything that happened today not happened; and that was them ending their day in the bath, holding each other close as they relax with each other. After all, that's exactly what she needs to do right now. She needs to relax. And whether that was with or without Matt, Gabby didn't really care; but of course, she'd much rather have her husband in the bath with her.
And lucky for her, that's exactly what she's going to get; she's going to get time with the man she loves, as he runs his hands around her body (both in and out of the bath). And that was going to start right now, as Matt walked into the bathroom with a towel around his waist. Walking over to the counter with a fresh pair of boxers, Matt smiled as he set them down next to her lingerie; after which, he walked up behind the woman he loves more than anything in the entire world. And let's just say that Gabby was more than ready to have him hold her, as that's exactly what she wants.
Walking up behind Gabby, Matt smirked as he wrapped his arms around her and held her close to him. "God, now if this isn't the most beautiful sight? The sight of my beautiful, pregnant wife in her bathrobe; and even better, she's standing in the candlelight." Smiling as she heard Matt say that, Gabby turned around in his arms and stepped close to him; after which, she put her hands on his chest and looked at the man she loves more than anything in the entire world. At the same time, Matt moved his hands to her sides and just held her close to him; leaning in afterwards, Matt smiled as he took things nice and slow with the woman he loves more than anything in the entire world. "I think that this is what we really should've done in the first place. As much as we need time away from each other, at a hotel; I'm more than okay with us just being in our room, holding each other." Gabby smiled as she heard Matt say that, thinking that he was joking. "Sure." Matt then proceeded to grab Gabby's hand and intertwined their fingers. "Hey, I mean it."
Looking at Matt as he said that, Gabby decided to just listen to the man she loves more than anything in the entire world. "Gabby, you're my wife, and the love of my life; ever since we had the boys, I truly cherish the times that I get to share with you. Times where we're alone with each other, and just relaxing with you. I don't need to be in a hotel, as I can do the exact same thing here that I can do at a hotel. I can hold you close, and we can relax..." Stepping close to Gabby, Matt smiled as he put his hands on her baby bump. "And so that I can put my hands on this gorgeous bump." Gabby smiled as she heard matt say that, before putting her hands on his chest; after which, she stroked it with her thumbs and stepped closed to her loving husband. Moving her hands away from Matt's chest, Gabby then moved to wrap her arms around his neck; at the same time, Matt moved his hands to her back and started to take things nice and slow with Gabby. "God, I love you so much." Gabby agreed with Matt, smiling at the man she loves like crazy.
"I love you too." Matt smiled as he ran his hands around her body, smiling at the woman he loves more than anything in the entire world; after which, he wrapped his arms around her and brought her body against his chest. Putting her hands on his arms, Gabby took a breath due to the fact that she needs to talk to Matt about something; and that definitely didn't go unnoticed by her husband. Turning his head, Matt proceeded to whisper in her ear. "Do you have something you need to talk to me about?" Taking a breath, Gabby nodded. "Yeah, I do." Matt nodded as he heard Gabby tell him that, before moving his hand to the side of her head; after which, he kissed the side of her head. Smiling at the woman he loves more than anything, Matt smirked at his beautiful wife. "Do you want to talk about it in the bath? Or do you want to talk about it in bed?" Gabby sighed. "Can we talk about it in the bath?" Matt agreed with his beautiful wife, nodding. "Of course, we can." Gabby agreed with Matt as he said that before holding him close.
After which, she wrapped her arms around his muscular chest; laying her head down on his heart, Gabby smiled due to the fact that she's happy to be holding her husband close to her. "I love you." Matt agreed with Gabby as she told him that, before smiling as he kissed her forehead softly; after which, Matt smiled as he felt Gabby play with her towel. "Want me to get in the bath, then you can sit in my lap?" Gabby agreed with Matt as he asked her whether she wants him to sit in the bath, as that's most definitely exactly what she wants him to do. She wants him to sit in the bath, and then she'll get in with him. "I love that idea." Matt agreed with Gabby as she said that, letting her go in the process. After which, he felt her grab her towel so that she could take it off; smirking as Gabby did that, Matt grabbed it from the woman he loves before going to hang it up on the hook that they have next to the bath. After which, Matt proceeded to take off Gabby's robe and went to hang it up with us. And let's just say they were both happy about that.

Gabby agreed with Matt as he said that, ready to do just that with the man she loves more than anything in the entire world. After all, that's exactly like she wants to do right now; she wants to sit in lap, as they cuddle up to each other in the bath.

Climbing into the bath shortly after Matt got in, Gabby smiled as she got close to him and just cuddled up to the man she loves more than anything in the entire world; after which, she wrapped her arm around his back while they cuddled up to each other. Doing the same with his arm, Matt smiled as he turned his head and then kissed her forehead while running his hand up and down her back.
"Thanks for putting some bubbles in the bath." Smiling as he heard Gabby say that, Matt turned his head and looked down into her eyes. Kissing her forehead softly, Matt just smiled due to the fact that they're both really happy right now. "It's no problem. I know that you like it. And I also know that it helps you relax." Gabby took a breath as she heard Matt say that, well aware that was something that they're going to need to talk about; after which, Gabby ran her hand up his chest and took a breath. At the same time, Matt kissed the top of her head as they both held each other close. "Do you have something you want to talk about?"
Gabby took a breath as Matt asked her whether she has something that she wants to talk to him about, as she most definitely wants to talk to him. "Matt, I hate to even bring this up but...what if it happens again?" Looking down at Gabby as she said that, Matt pressed his lips to her forehead and agreed with her; after all, that is a worry that they both have with each other. "I know, you're worried about that." Gabby agreed with Matt as he said that. "Can I tell you the truth though Gabby?" Gabby nodded as she looked up at Matt. "I've been putting on a brave face, and I've been worrying about that since we learned that we got pregnant; and that's been even more prevalent ever since we learned that we were having a daughter. Because the last thing I want for my baby girl, is for her to be born prematurely; because we already went through that." Gabby agreed with Matt as he said that, well aware that was the case.
After which, Matt ran his hand up and down her back as they held each other close. "But if it does happen again, then we'll deal with it as husband and wife. I promise, okay?" Gabby agreed with Matt as he told her that, glad that was the case; not that she didn't expect that from him. He's just the best husband (and father) in the entire world, and that's most definitely something that she's so grateful for. She loves the fact that she's his wife, and that he's the father of their children. But that's not what she's thinking about right now, as she would much rather just cuddle up to Matt and hold him close; after all, it's everything that they both want to hold each other close right now. "Let's just relax right now, and we can take it easy after a long day." Gabby agreed with Matt when he said that, smiling as she cuddled up to the love of her live; after all, this is everything that she wants to do right now. Relax in Matt's arms.
